Over 30 stars from the south Indian film industries and Bollywood attended a reunion hosted by actors Jackie Shroff and Poonam Dhillon at their home in Mumbai. The stars from the ’80s, who, as a practice, have a reunion every year to celebrate their friendship and camaraderie had suspended the practice after 2019 due to the outbreak of the pandemic.
The 10th year reunion in 2019 was hosted by Chiranjeevi in his fabulous Hyderabad home. Nearly 40 stars from South India and Bombay had attended that reunion. However, after that, due to the pandemic, the event was not held. This year, they revived the practice and met in Mumbai for their annual reunion.
Actors Poonam Dhillon and Jackie Shroff graciously hosted the actors from the four southern states. They invited a few of their colleagues from Bollywood too for the evening.

2017-07-27T06:39:47-07:00June Foray, Voice of Rocky the Squirrel, Dies at 99
June Foray, the famed “first lady of voice actors” whose repertoire of characters include Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Pottsylvanian spy Natasha Fatale, Tweety Bird’s owner Granny and a sinister talking doll, has died. She was 99.
Foray, who worked alongside such animated legends as Mel Blanc, Chuck Jones, Stan Freberg and Jay Ward during her unseen yet spectacular eight-decade career, died Wednesday according to close friend Dave Nimitz who posted a notice of her passing on Facebook.
Versatile in her intonations and cadence, Foray provided voices for an incredible range of characters, including the killer Talky Tina doll in the 1963 “Living Doll” installment of The Twilight Zone, an episode said to be inspired by Mattel’s enormously popular pull-string Chatty Cathy doll (she provided the voice for that, too).

Laverne Cox is not letting the hate over her Grammy stage mistake get her down.
The actress-activist stopped by Sway in the Morning Tuesday to chat with host Sway Calloway on Eminem’s SiriusXM channel Shade 45, where she cleared up her Metallica mishap and swooned over her Grammy run-in with Beyoncé.
On Sunday night during the 2017 Grammy Awards, Cox took the stage to introduce Lady Gaga and Metallica’s blistering performance of “Moth Into Flame,” but she was so “in a moment” that she failed announce the heavy metal group’s name.
Laverne Cox accidentally only said Lady Gaga instead of Metallica #GRAMMYs pic.

While Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up to play Sanjay Dutt in Raju Hirani’s biopic, we can’t help but remember this revelation from the past, involving Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir’s dad Rishi Kapoor. Strange as it might be, this revelation came to light when Rishi Kapoor launched his ‘Khullam Khulla’ recently. As history goes by, the fellow actors were about to have a fight over actress Tina Munim. Gulshan Grover, the famous villain of Bollywood, is quoted in the biography saying, “It’s true. Sanju was having an affair with Tina Munim at that time, and he thought that Chintu (as Rishi is referred to by his friends) was having one with her too. Sanju and I were like brothers, and he told me one day, ‘We have to go to Chintu’s house and beat him up’. We went to do that, but his fiancée Neetuji managed...

The summer is a confusing time for late night shows. With vacation time, shows are often off, then on, seemingly at random. When shows do air, there’s fewer dangerous animals on, and more affect-less athletes. And yet, some really funny things happen on late night during these lesser watched months. Jimmy Fallon nearly lost a hand, Conan rode into Comic-Con with a Mad Max war band. We got to see Colbert interview Eminem on Monroe, Michigan public access TV. Jon Stewart’s Daily Show month long “moment of zen” farewell continues, streaming every episode back-to-back, available globally. It wasn’t all bad.
Last week, Bill Hader and Amy Schumer were doing the rounds for Trainwreck, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were reunited with Jimmy, Emma Stone was on Conan, Meyers got a dose of Schumer and Jim Gaffigan, and Corden horsed around with Ian McKellen. Plus, John Oliver took...

Some horror movies go with a "slow-build" approach, and some go for the jugular right off the bat. The unexpected horror hit "It Follows" definitely falls into the latter category, as you can see in the opening scene embedded below (narrated by director David Robert Mitchell). Are you sufficiently unnerved? Good! That's what we're going for here. As the indie horror hit prepares to expand into over 1,600 theaters this weekend, below I've ranked 18 of the most iconic/frightening horror openings of all time from least to most scary. The result is a completely objective list that will remain set in stone for all eternity. Are you ready? Can you handle it? Countdown starts now... 18. "Night of the Living Dead" (1968) "They're coming to get you, Barbara." While I have no doubt that contemporary audiences covered their eyes in fright during the opening sequence of Romero's original "Night of the Living Dead,...

At the end of the most recent season of his superb FX series, Louis C.K. made an unusual pass at long-form storytelling. “Late Show” finds Louie at its most overtly dramatic and—for a show that regularly exults in narrative ellipsis and melancholia—its most accessible as well. It tells the story, over three episodes, of our hero’s unlikely journey to succeed an apparently retiring David Letterman. As an increasingly confident director, C.K. has continued to explore more adventurous possibilities. Louie is essentially a hybrid of the comedian’s impulses as a stand-up and as a straight-ahead sketch writer. The man on stage, with all his fear and responsibility and desire and dread, is dropped into a world conceived to afflict these very qualities, a world that must be endured. The jokes come later, when we can make sense of it all. Whatever truth is to be discovered...

In celebration of Lord Shiva’s Maha Shivratri, one of the most prominent festivals of the Hindu calendar, we bring you some of our favourite Lord Shiva related Bollywood songs.
As we explore a few of the different shades that Bollywood has celebrated Lord Shiva through, we take you on a very quick journey beginning in 1950, with the song “Bhole nath se nirala” to end with Koyla’s (1997) mischievous “Bhang Ke Nashe Mein”.
Known by at least 1008 different names, including “Kailas” (One who bestows Peace), “Shambu” (Source of everything) and “Hari” (Sustainer and Destroyer), Lord Shiva is said to have married Parvarti on Maha Shivratri. Other readings of Hinduism state that Maha Shivratri is the night on which Shiva performed “Tandava” – the dance that led to the creation, conservation and destruction of the Universe.
Maha Shivratri is also known as Lord Shiva’s favourite day.

Amol Palekar, Tina Munim starrer Baaton Baaton Mein (1979) is all set to join the league of remakes. This Bollywood classic was produced and directed by Basu Chatterjee and now reviving the same will be producer Aditya Bhhatia. While Aditya has four leading directors on his wish list, nothing about the cast for the remake has been finalized. The original movie was not just famous for the simplicity and the innocence it reflected, but had some peppy and melodious numbers that still remains fresh in the minds of people. Since the remake is still in its initial stages, an official announcement about the cast and crew is expected soon.

“To be in love with the idea of being in love” goes a famous quote. Bollywood cinema has only made the concept of this ‘love’ and ‘romance’ a lot more extravagant in its various character relationships and stories. Subhash Ghai, the Showman as he is fondly called, has brought together onscreen couples, who have romanticized this everlasting emotional state of being even more in his films.
From the earliest onscreen jodi’s of Shatrugan Sinha and Reena Roy, Rishi Kapoor and Tina Munim, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit, Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Shehsadri to Shahrukh Khan and Mahima Chaudhary, Subhash Ghai has always been fascinated with love and delivered it to the hilt in the stories of these classic films spanning 30 years. The masses have connected to the emotions portrayed in movies like Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Pardes and should expect the same from his new upcoming projects.

One thing is certain after tonight's episode of Glee: Things are officially done for Kurt and Blaine and Rachel and Finn. Our dynamic duos won't be reconciling any time soon. Mega bummer.
But in other McKinley news, "Glease" rocked the house, and proved to me, once again, life is better on Glee when the drama stays in high school.
I'm a fan of Grease. I grew up watching it and singing along and found myself doing the same tonight, which is always a good sign. While "Greased Lightning" was a bit slow and forced, the slumber party scene, aside from the hideous costuming, felt like something that Kitty would do: invite the girls over for the purpose of humiliating one (or more) of them.
Overall, the McKinley production of Grease was pretty great. Perhaps not as good as Rocky Horror, but it definitely wasn't terrible. And did anyone else who's...

Brace yourselves. This list of the Top 100 Greatest Gay Movies is probably going to generate some howls of protest thanks to a rather major upset in the rankings. Frankly, one that surprised the hell out of us here at AfterElton.
But before we get to that, an introduction. A few weeks ago we asked AfterElton readers to submit up to ten of their favorite films by write-in vote. We conducted a similar poll several years ago, but a lot has happened culturally since then, and a number of worthy movies of gay interest have been released. We wanted to see how your list of favorites had changed.
We also wanted to expand our list to 100 from the top 50 we had done previously. We figured there were finally enough quality gay films to justify the expansion. And we wanted to break out gay documentaries onto their own list (You'll find the...

One of Indian cinema's first superstars who appeared in 15 consecutive hit films in the course of three years
Rajesh Khanna, who has died aged 69 after a long illness, was Indian cinema's first superstar. At the height of his fame he generated adulation that sometimes verged on mass hysteria and appeared in 15 consecutive hit films over the course of three years.
He first achieved acclaim in Aradhana (Worship, 1969), playing two roles – the husband and grown-up son, both air force pilots, of the established star Sharmila Tagore. Notable among the romantic drama's musical numbers was the sexy Roop Tera Mastana (Your Beauty Is Intoxicating), recorded in a single take, a first for Hindi cinema.
Further highly commercial films followed, including Aan Milo Sajna (Come Meet Me, Beloved, 1970), Kati Patang (Broken Kite, 1970) and Haathi Mera Saathi (Elephant My Partner, 1971). More thought-provoking were Daag (Stain, 1973), dealing with the subject of bigamy, and Anand (1971), in...

Popular Bollywood matinee idol, producer and film-maker
The Indian actor, producer and film-maker Dev Anand, who has died aged 88, was the first and longest serving matinee idol of Bollywood cinema. The pinnacle of his career came with Guide (1965), a film based on Rk Narayan's novel, in which Dev played the male lead opposite the classical Indian dancer turned actor Waheeda Rehman. Dev's talented younger brother Vijay directed it. During the golden age of Indian cinema, in the 1950s and 1960s, Dev, along with Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar, formed the trio of stars who dominated the silver screen. Dev's urbanity and quirky mannerisms made him especially popular among the young and women.
He was born in undivided India at Gurdaspur, in the Punjab region. His father, Pishorimal Anand, was a leading lawyer. After graduating from the prestigious Government College, in Lahore, Dev tried and failed to enter the Royal Indian Navy.

So, if you care, you may have noticed there are no reviews for episodes two through four of this season. See, I wasn’t raised with the maxim “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” I was, however, taught that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. Simply put, the last three episodes disappointed me so much that I just couldn’t write about them. The best I would’ve been able to say is that there were occasionally some cute moments, a few slight advances of character sub-plots and damn, that Dianna Agron sure is pretty, isn’t she?
For the most part, the past few hours have been stupid, bordering on offensive when not just-this-side of boring. The worst offenses? Quinn’s subplot this season is that she’s trying to get her daughter back from Shelby.

There are those for whom the appearance of new kid at McKinley, Rory Flanagan, played by one of apparently legion winners of The Glee Project, Damian McGinty, was the whole point of tonight's episode.
There were those for whom it was about an inexplicably badly-dressed and even-more-badly chapeau'd Blaine dancing to another Katy Perry song.
But I write this recap for those of us for whom this was the episode in which Brittany and Santana acknowledged they were dating. Also: taking baths together. And for whom Blaine's sartorial mistakes paled when compared to the fact that he lay down on the floor and put his arm around Brittany while Santana glared at him. And who really would have been perfectly happy if Santana had whipped those razor blades out of her hair instead of just threatening wee Rory with torture and suffering if he didn't back off her gf.

I know that I was not the only Gleek who was sad when Glee Season Three started; three new episodes were aired; and then reruns started up again. To keep my Glee momentum going, I decided to reminisce by popping my new copy of Glee Season Two on Blu-ray into my player.
The Season begins with Mr. Schuester (William Morrison) and the Glee Club kids back from their dismal showing at Sectionals. Wanting to secure a win at Sectionals this year, which would lead them to Nationals in New York City; the Glee Club sets off to find new recruits to join their motley crew.
A couple of notable changes this season are: Quinn (Dianna Agron) is now sans baby bump and is ready to regain her status as McKinley High’s queen bee and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) and Artie (Kevin McHale) are no longer as she has...

For weeks, the internet and TV promos have been abuzz about the "ground-breaking" episode of this weeks's "Glee"; so, I had some sort of expectation going in. It's "Glee," we're talking about here, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting something semi-climactic. Lord knows why I get my hopes up with this show. This week's episode was a 90 minute episode that had nothing new or important to say than it had already said before. Bullying is bad, you have to look inside yourself and love who you are ... unless you're really messed up then you need to change so that way everyone can realize that they can obtain such a prestigious height of plastic.
Schuester attempts an untried concept of practicing to help prepare for Nationals. Because almost everyone is so inept at actually rehearsing things, Finn accidentally breaks Rachel's nose. The doctor declares it to be a clean break,...

Watching "Glee" is like putting a bunch of glitter and piñatas in a blender and hitting frappe. Sure there's sparkles and bright colors and the wonderfully whirring noise of total chaos, but at the end of the experience you just feel a little dizzy and pissed that you have to clean up the mess. There was a lot about this episode that was great and a ton of it that was a big cluster. The thing about "Glee" is that it's hard to sum up in relative terms of "good" or "bad," every week I try, but this episode left me more flabbergasted than ever. There were ridiculous competition results and bizarre couple blow ups this week, but if one constant remains, it's that Will Schuester still pisses me off.
Part of my contempt for Will stems from my increasingly complicated feelings for Rachel. Sometimes it feels as though she...

Change was in the air Tuesday on Glee's "Special Education" episode - from a shakeup in the club's usual lineup to plenty of personal drama. To start, Mr. Schuester decided to refresh his predictable approach to songs and singers for the upcoming sectionals competition. Instead of relying on Rachel for a shining solo and giving her a duet with Finn, Mr. Schu spread the spotlight around, showcasing Quinn and Sam's chemistry, Santana's voice and Brittany's and Mike's dance moves. Meanwhile, Kurt - who was always a strong force at McKinley High - got off to a rocky start with Dalton Academy's glee club,...

The McKinley Glee Club comes across a brand new rival on the November 9 new episode of Glee. Move over, Vocal Adrenaline, there's a new glee club in town!
The Club gets introduced to the choir from an all-boys school, which is led by cast newcomer Darren Criss. It's been long-rumored that Criss's character will become the boyfriend of Kurt, but that's not 100% confirmed. In any event, the boys' choir takes on Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" and do a fantastic job! Other songs that are included in the preview below are "One Love," and two mashups: "Stop! In the Name of Love" / "Free Your Mind" and "Livin' On a Prayer" /"Start Me Up".
Below are the song previews, along with a synopsis for the episode and some promotional photos. It also appears that John Stamos is sticking around for a bit. Which is good. His hotness during the Rocky Horror episode cannot be stated enough.

"Though I hold a special place in my colon for Rocky Horror, it doesn’t mean I don’t know a lot (more than I’d like) about it or appreciate its status as a cult object"
At the end of the previous recap, I declared my seething hatred for The Rocky Horror Picture Show and I was all set to hate this episode on that basis. Having now seen the episode, I can tell you plainly, the problems with this installment have nothing to do with my general misgivings over the source material. One, these theme episodes do nothing for me as they lose their broader focus on moving plots forward in favor of simple tricks and nonsense; and B: motivation, motivation, motivation (more on that later).
First, a synopsis...
Emma is taken to a midnight screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show by Carl, which helps her get over some obsessive-compulsive behaviors.

Perhaps the most-debated part of Glee’s Rocky Horror-themed episode last night was the opening number: the unidentified pair of lips singing “Science Fiction.” We’ve done some investigating and can now tell you for certain that those perfect red lips belong to none other than Santana. Not Quinn (as I suspected). Not Tina (as others suspected). Fox has just confirmed the news to us. You’re welcome.

The "Glee"cast may go racy for GQ, but when it comes to paying homage to the salacious "Rocky Horror Picture Show," they're dressed far more demurely.
On "The Rocky Horror Glee Show" episode Tuesday night (Oct. 26), New Directions takes on the cult classic film in which strait-laced couple Brad and Janet's (originally Barry Bostwick, Susan Sarandon) adventures when they stumble upon transvestite/mad scientist Dr. Frank-n-Furter (Tim Curry) and his castle full of wacky partygoers. Rocky (Peter Hinwood) is Frank-n-Furter's creation, a perfect golden Adonis.
Rocky sports what one may describe as "tighty goldies" in the film. On the show, however, the gold lamé bottoms get a looser and longer fit on Sam (Chord Overstreet).
"Chord was an awesome sport about it," Emmy-nominated costume designer Lou Eyrich tells Zap2it. "We couldn't go quite as short and tight as the original. We did have to clean it up just a little bit.

As Tuesday’s Rocky Horror Glee Show inches ever closer to our televisions, we’ve all by now seen the photos of various Glee cast members doubling as classic Rocky Horror characters like Riff Raff (Kurt), Columbia (Tina), Brad Majors (Finn), and the titular golden-speedo’d hunk Rocky Horror (the perpetually shirtless Sam). Most curiously, it appears Amber Riley’s Mercedes is the one with the honor of stepping into the high-heels and black corset of Dr. Frank-n-Furter, Rocky Horror’s cross-dressing provocateur-cum-ringmaster so memorably played by Tim Curry in the feature film. Aside from looking frighteningly fabulous, the character...

There's so much going on with this "Glee" version of the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" anthem the "Time Warp," we just can't cover it all.
But we're thinking that even if you're not a fan (yet) of the 1975 cult movie musical, you might be after this. It's nutty, it's crazy, it's just so exuberantly zany.
But wow, it took us several looks to realize that was Quinn (Dianna Agron) with the fright wig on. And how awesome is it to see Brittany and Tina (Heather Morris, Jenna Ushkowitz) break out the tap?
Kurt (Chris Colfer) does a pretty good job at Riff-Raff, changing up his singing even. Excuse us while we watch this again.

Was it just the outsider vibe that permeated so many of the scenes tonight, or was this the queerest episode of any series that's ever been on television? I mean, I'm reading this right, aren't I? Santana told Brittany I'm not in love with you, you're just a substitute for Puck, and Brittany's heart was broken, so she tried to use Artie to punish Santana, and Santana went nuts with jealousy?
The final scene with Brittany all alone, pushing the meatball with her nose, and walking around the hall looking so forlorn without her Santana – I cried. Not metaphorical tears – the real thing, with salt and water and a snotty nose.
And Kurt… my god, Kurt. Yes, he's had a bit of inappropriate stuff with Finn last season. It was interesting to see that getting explored. But to see him trying to figure out how to be himself in the world,...

Following up last week’s beyond-depressing ‘Grilled Cheesus’ episode, ‘Glee’ returns to singing, dancing, and dramatics!
The Oct. 12 episode of Glee called “Duets” was a study in, well — duets! The rumored future love interest of Kurt (Chris Colfer), Sam’s mysterious nature and bountiful blonde locks caused Kurt to immediately exclaim, “He’s on team gay. No straight boy dyes her hair to look like Linda Evangelista circa 1993.” And you know what? He has a point! The last man to pull off such a...

My tears from last week’s flashback to Kurt and Burt’s tea party have finally dried, and tonight’s episode will reinstate some good old-fashioned competition amongst glee club members. On the next episode of "Glee", Matthew Morrison will present New Directions with a duet competition that causes friction among club members. A freshly-released preview offers a sneak peek at how Kurt and some of the Glee club kids execute the challenge. Sam getting slushie treatment and more drama are also teased.
