In 1979, Nelson created a music and publishing company called The Melody Bank, which produced jingles for advertising, film soundtracks for Hong Kong films such as "Mr. Vampire" and songs for singers including George Lam, Alan Tam, Rowena Cortes, Louie Castro and Kenny Bee.
