The BAFTA Game Awards are a celebration of talent and contributions to the entertainment industry, and voice actors like Yuri Lowenthal and Neil Newbon are soaking up the rare occasion. The gaming community naturally assumes that there is a secret rivalry between the two yet the opposite is shown in public.
Both actors were also in the running for Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards last year for best performer and while Neil took home the trophy, Yuri was still a winner in the hearts and eyes of fans.
Voice Actors Of Astarian And Spider-Man Shared A Hug During The BAFTA
Yuri Lowenthal is the voice actor of Insomniac Games’ Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man.
During the red carpet, GamingBible was able to capture a wholesome interaction between the Spider-Man and Astorian voice actors. It is truly a magnificent sight to see two powerhouses of voice acting acknowledge each other’s talent and support one another.

Fallout: London is an ambitious mod by Team Folon for Bethesda’s 2015 entry, Fallout 4. With the Fallout TV show premiering a day early on April 10th, 2024, the franchise has a massive fan following at the moment. Fallout: London is going to be the first time the franchise has set foot outside of the U.S.A. True to its moniker, the mod is set in post-apocalyptic London.
Team Folon is a group of hobbyists and enthusiasts who have come together to recreate London with all its history and aesthetics along with the unmistakable nuclear spin on it. However, the much-anticipated mod is raising some questions among players regarding its availability on consoles. But due to the game being a mod of Fallout 4, it is going to be a PC exclusive.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a carefully designed RPG that replicates the DnD experience into something that proudly holds high standards in the video game industry at the moment. Developers at Larian Studios have managed to hone the art of giving players the ultimate freedom to choose and play as a character closest to their hearts.
However, at some point, a simple yet important part of this experience was altered by the devs. That too in the context of one of the most loved characters in the game, Astarion. Originally, the charming character was of a different species, but the creators chose a different path for him instead.
Astarion Was Originally a Tiefling, Not an Elf! Can you imagine him not being an elf?
Portrayed brilliantly by actor Neil Newbon, Astarion is a sharp-tongued elf who is an important part of Baldur’s Gate 3’s narrative. However, fans would be surprised...

Baldur’s Gate 3 is set for an Xbox arrival but one of its quirks has players reminiscing about game releases from a ‘technologically dead’ age. In a series of updates on X, Larian’s Director of Publishing Michael Douse announced that the physical copy of the game would have 4 disks.
As the game would have 4 discs, players who are going to purchase the physical Deluxe edition are going to be reminded of the days when games like Final Fantasy VIII took this much disc space. In an age where online releases are the norm, the 4-disc Xbox release of Baldur’s Gate 3 feels like a throwback to a time when technology was far behind today’s.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Will Have 4 Disk Thanks to 500 Mb of Extra Content
Gamers have seen big-shot developers cut down on the content of games time and again to make them fit into a particular number of disks.

Despite a union with SAG-AFTRA and increasing attention paid to the very best voice acting performances in the industry, it’s still easy to take those performances for granted. It’s part and parcel of a medium that still struggles with being recognized as an art form, and one where those union protections don’t yet protect the most vulnerable performers.
Voice acting is often the key to whether a story-heavy game sinks or swims. Granted, it is possible for a game’s voice acting to become iconic, even with a crappy dub. The original Resident Evil is still a meme for B-movie lines like the Jill Sandwich, and Shenmue’s English voice acting, respectfully, flat-out sucks. But a truly remarkable job, like the whole of Final Fantasy Xii or Nolan North’s various appearances as Nathan Drake, reminds us why it’s important to remember our roots, appreciate the creators,...

The Game Awards 2023 panel has revealed the full list of nominees who will be eligible to win at this year’s show. While many of the nominees are relatively unsurprising, there are certainly a few games that did (and didn’t) get nominated that will get people talking.
Here’s everything you need to know about The Game Awards 2023’s nominees and voting process.
The Game Awards 2023: How Voting Works
According to the Game Awards website, Game Awards winners are determined by a “blended vote” that accounts for jury votes and fan votes. The jury votes account for 90% of the voting weight while the fan votes make up the remaining 10%.
Though an example of that formula is not provided, it’s basically best to think of the system like a 10-person voting jury. Nine of the jurors would represent voting individuals of the group, and the 10th person would...

Yet again the cheap, occasionally effective but utterly done to death format of the found footage film finds its way onto our screens once more. Only this time, there’s dinosaurs. It’s The T-Rex Project, or Mesozoic Activity, if you will.
We’re expected to believe we’re being presented with footage from a documentary team recording some natural historians on locations in the South American rainforest, seeking out new species. Brash cameraman James (Daniel Caren) accompanies sceptical presenter Michelle (Sarah Mac) on The Expedition. The aloof but esteemed Professor Howson (Ben Loyd-Holmes, who also co-writes with director Adam Spinks) is their guide and a couple of other scientists and explorer/adventurer types flesh out the cast.

We’re back with another edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes VOD release information for Armistice, multiple teaser trailers, a Q&A with Matt Thompson from Bloodline, and a preview of Dept. of Monsterology:
Dept. of Monsterology: ”Officially, it’s the Department of Cryptozoology, Mythological Studies, Parapsychology and Fortean Phenomena. But to the rest of the students and staff at the Dunsany College, baffled by the cloak of secrecy that surrounds the Department and its affairs, it has another, more dismissive, name: The Department of Monsterology. Funded by the mysterious Hampton Foundation, the Dept. operates several field teams that roam the globe on extended research expeditions.
Their brief: to investigate the dark and unexplored corners of our world – the places we’ve forgotten, lost or believe to be mythical. And to study those things that may still be lurking there.

Now that was a nice little cliffhanger to end things on. I liked last week’s clips, mostly because it’s moving the story forward and getting Lari closer to being out of the closet. Something tells me those pictures are going to end up on a billboard or something for everyone to see. I’m not down with outing, but I totally get why Tale would take revenge on Lari and I can't say Lari doesn't have it coming. You can’t run around bullying people and not have it come back to bite you. I thought the scenes of Lari and Elias together were cute, especially in the photo booth. Still I find the acting on this show by the show's younger cast to be awkward and stilted. They clearly don’t have much experience and it shows.

It’s really nice to see Christian and Syed in a solid storyline that is actually about them and their relationship. They have gotten very little of that over the past couple of years as the show has allowed them to languish on the backburner, even as they proved to be a very popular and beloved duo. The writers simply, for whatever reason, didn’t want to write for them.
And to me, this storyline shows that when the show actually gives them the material, they can be compelling. I just wish the material was a bit better because I’m not quite sure if I buy Syed’s behavior.

Emmett Scanlan has hinted he is to leave 'Hollyoaks'. The actor - whose alter ego Brendan Brady's war with Walker (Neil Newbon) is to come to an explosive end in the coming weeks - thinks the recent 'Hollyoaks Later' story, which revealed the abuse his character had suffered as a child, marks ''the end'' for the bad boy, and he thinks unless there are dramatic changes ahead, it could be time to depart. He said: '''Hollyoaks Later' was the end of Brendan. You can't come back from that. I don't want to fall back into old patterns. ''It's time to Brendan to...

Hollyoaks star Emmett Scanlan has admitted that his character Brendan Brady will become "totally paranoid" in the coming days. As seen in pictures released on Sunday, Brendan's attempts to hijack Sampson's drug deal backfire next week when he and Walker (Neil Newbon) end up trapped inside a factory, surrounded by police. Realising that someone has grassed him up to the authorities, Brendan is left to wonder who is plotting against him. Scanlan told Inside Soap: "When Brendan gets back to the village, he has no idea where Sampson is or how the deal went so wrong. "He's totally paranoid and (more)...

Hollyoaks bad boys Brendan Brady and Simon Walker will be at the centre of dramatic scenes as they feature in their own special episode later this month. Brendan (Emmett Scanlan) has recently been plotting revenge against his enemy Sampson in the aftermath of Lynsey's murder, and his attempts to get even result in a one-off standalone edition of Hollyoaks focusing entirely on the storyline. Digital Spy can now present an exclusive first look at the episode, which is being billed as a chance for viewers to discover more about Brendan and Walker's unlikely friendship. After planning to scupper Sampson's big drug deal, things go horribly wrong for Brendan and Walker (Neil Newbon) when they end up trapped inside a factory, surrounded by police. It's clear that someone has grassed up Brendan, so he grows increasingly suspicious of Walker - still (more)...

Hollyoaks stars appear in a special Inside Soap photoshoot this week to promote the show's Inside Soap Award nominations. Neil Newbon (Simon Walker), Georgia Bourke (Lacey Kane) and Nicole Barber-Lane (Myra McQueen) - up for 'Best Bad Boy', 'Best Newcomer' and 'Funniest Female' respectively - are among the nominees who feature in the stylish pictures. The 2012 Inside Soap Awards - sponsored by online fashion retailer boohoo.com - were officially launched earlier this month, with a number of nods for Hollyoaks and its rival serial dramas. Newbon is joined by co-star Emmett Scanlan (Brendan Brady) in the 'Bad Boy' category, but told the magazine: "I don't see it as us being in competition - Emmett and I are united against the other soaps! I'll be really happy if either of us wins, because (more)...

Neil Newbon has proclaimed that the new series of Hollyoaks Later will shock viewers. The Simon Walker actor teased the return of the E4 spinoff, which will air as five hour-long episodes transmitted on consecutive nights across one week. Sorry there was no column last week, but the big U.S. East Coast storm left me without power for several days. Thanks to all of you who wrote telling me how much you missed “Langford on Soaps.” It’s appreciated!

Good Times, Bad Times
When I heard that Gtbt was going to give Lucas a potential new love interest in the form of Bilal, a closeted gay Muslim, I hated the idea. And now that the story has begun to unfold, leading to the badly-played season finale in which Lucas and Bilal kissed, I hate it even more. To be blunt, this is a horrible, clichéd plot on a show that has long had problems with solid and consistent storytelling. I’d taken a hiatus from this show for most of the last season because it was unwatchable. And I’m already thinking of not...

Good Times, Bad Times
It’s been a while since I watched this show. Readers know I’ve had a long love-hate relationship with this glossy Dutch soap as the writing has always been hit or miss for me. And since the show killed off Lucas’ boyfriend Edwin a few months ago, I’ve really not cared for Lucas’ various adventures since, yet I still think killing off Edwin was the right idea. I liked the character, but he and Lucas and their pairing had gone as far as things could and it was time to move on. Anyway, I caught last week’s episodes and as usual, the writing is still hit or miss.
I liked the concept, but its execution just didn’t work for me. I felt that Lucas was being written out of character. It was not in his sleeping around with various men,...

Hollyoaks newcomer Neil Newbon has teased that his character Walker's storyline will be "quite revolutionary". Walker made his first appearance on the Channel 4 soap last month and he will return to screens in a few days' time, causing Cheryl Brady to fear that her brother Brendan is up to no good again. Brendan (Emmett Scanlan) and Walker previously spent time in prison together, now sharing both a rivalry and a mutual respect. Newbon told Inside Soap of Walker's future: "I'm so excited about what's in store. Walker is a very unusual character for Hollyoaks, and his story is going to be quite revolutionary." He continued: "It's something the audience won't have seen before." Offering his take on Brendan and Walker's sparring, Newbon added: "They have a volatile dynamic because (more)...

River City
Even though I’m still not sure if I buy Robbie and Will as a couple, I do think they have a nice chemistry, and I like how the relationship is developing. It’s obvious though that as much as Will wants a relationship with Robbie, he is determined to keep it a secret at work. And in such a small town where everybody knows everyone, I can’t imagine that lasting for too long. I suspect it’ll be only a matter of time before Will is outed at work, and I can’t wait to see if Robbie and he survive the fall out. I hope they do, if only because I like Will as a character and I want to see him stick around.
How long can Will keep his relationship with Robbie a secret?
Other than that, there’s not...

LONDON -- A stellar cast including Tom Wilkinson, Alan Cumming, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant and Timothy Spall has assembled to add their voices to what promises to be one the most unusual movies made on U.K. shores in recent years.
U.K. production, sales and distribution banner Swipe Films began recording the all-star cast's vocal contributions Thursday for "Jackboots On Whitehall", billed as a comedy spoof set during World War II.
The script imagines what would have happened had Germany invaded Britain but were then defeated by the Scots at the border with England.
Using specially designed GI Joe-type action figures, producer Frank Mannion ("Grand Theft Parsons") said the $2 million-budgeted movie is in the vein of "Team America" -- minus the strings.
"It's one of the funniest scripts I have read in a long time with a delightful twist at the end," Mannion said.
The movie has benefited from the help of top British casting director Debbie McWilliams -- she cast "Casino Royale" and the previous six James Bond outings -- who takes an executive producer credit on "Jackboots".
The voice cast also includes Sanjeev Bhaskar, Richard O'Brien, Neil Newbon, Pam Ferris, Tobias Menzies and Hugh Fraser, Mannion said.
