The cinema of Hirokazu Koreeda is profoundly wonderful. His masterful storytelling and his elegant direction make for some unforgettable viewing experiences. Koreeda understands the complexions of human beings and brings them to the forefront in the scenarios he establishes in his movies. It would be hard to decide what is the director’s finest project. However, one thing is certain: his delicate feature “After Life” is a masterpiece.
Following the success of his film “Maborosi,” Hirokazu Koreeda proceeded with his next project. When constructing the concept for his next feature, the director took to his childhood memories of his grandfather, who gradually lost his memory during illness. These events would show the artist how important memory is to an individual’s identity. In conjunction with this, he would interview hundreds of people to prepare for this uniquely artistic work. Upon release, “After Life” would become a big hit and boost Koreeda’s popularity internationally.

A mother of three made a terrible mistake when she drove into a freight train as it was crossing the tracks — her minivan was struck and two of her kids were killed.
Tara Lewman, 25 and her son, Jordan survived the terrible accident, but they were taken by helicopter to Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Tara’s daughters, Erika, 4 and Kallie, 5, however, were thrown from the 2004 Dodge minivan and died.
State Patrol Explains Why The Mother Didn’t Brake
Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Scott Bright explained that Tara saw a stopped train on the tracks in front of her, so despite obeying the warning cross arms, she drove past the first train and into a different, oncoming freight train.
“She could not see because the train was blocking the view,” said Bright.

American Idol Finale Part 2: A Winner is Crowned
I rewatched last night's episode of American Idol, and I have to say, Phillip did better than I gave him credit for. I can say all I want that I think Jessica deserves to win, but I won't be mad if Phillip does. I'll comment more on the whole 'white guy with guitar' phenomenon later in this post, and how the show can fix itself. On to the show!
The night starts out with a group song to Bruno Mars' "Runaway Baby" (I believe that is the title, I am typing this as I watch), and it's the typical all-in-white mess we've come to expect from finale night. There's a weird, unnecessary dance break, and then it's time for the show to really start. Ryan and the judges come out, Ryan building up the show with 132 million votes cast. When Phillip and Jessica come out,...
