Hallmark's latest holiday film drops Thursday, December 7, on Hallmark Movies Now, reminding us to be cautious of what we wish for.
Rescuing Christmas follows a woman overwhelmed with the holidays, so she wishes it would disappear. When she's filled with wish regret, she needs to bring it back, and she turns to an unlikely ally: her recent blind date and her brother-in-law's friend Sam.
Rachael Leigh Cook and Sam Page star in this holiday rom-com, and neither is a stranger to the Hallmark franchise.
Cook has had the perfect blend of comedy and romance since she appeared in She's All That 25 years ago, and she still rocks it when she reaches the end of her rope and then tries to fix things.
If you ask anyone, they'll confirm that planning for Christmas is as overwhelming as it is joyous. You need to buy all the presents, do the holiday baking,...

Link is professionally back in business, but he's competing for Jo's affections with their new patient.

Were you Team Link or Team Owen regarding taking risks for Sam's surgery?
Joshua: I was Team Link the entire time. Owen brought Link on as a consultant; if he disagreed with Link's surgical plan, he could have gotten a different ortho surgeon.
Whether or not Link was playing it safe because of Tank's death or because it was the smart thing to do, it was his decision to make, not Owen's.
I appreciated that Link didn't let it slide either, with his comment...

Through the years, Sam Page has amassed an extensive acting resume. After making his on-screen debut in The WB’s Popular, he went on to snag roles in Desperate Housewives, Scandal, House of Cards, Mad Men and The Bold Type, plus several popular Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries rom-coms and holiday films. Most recently, he portrayed Ed on the Netflix original crime drama Brazen with Alyssa Milano; he’s also branched out to the newly launched rival Gac Family network, starring in Joy for Christmas.

TV veteran Alyssa Milano leads Brazen, an adaptation of bestselling author Nora Roberts’ 1988 novel Brazen Virtue. She plays Grace Miller, a mystery writer looking into her sister’s murder. Thanks to the help of a hot detective (Sam Page) and her own keen investigative skills, Grace uncovers a truth that is way wilder than fiction. The Who’s the Boss? alum (right) clues us in on the gig. (Credit: Sergei Bachlakov/Netflix) Even as Grace is grieving, she’s able to focus on hunting a killer and enjoy a little romance. Alyssa Milano: Just like real life, you have your ups and downs. Finding purpose in grief is Grace’s superpower. What makes her effective at her job? So much of what drives Grace is her ability to think outside the box and think creatively. Did you get to speak with Nora Roberts herself? I did! I asked if there...

It’s unclear why Netflix chose to grab and drop Brazen in its January line-up, but we can probably assume that any murder-mystery movie that gets wrapped up in a neat bow around the 90 minute mark will do just fine for any streaming service’s content-hungry subscribers right now as long as it looks vaguely entertaining. I’m one of them, and absolutely part of the problem, so even if I hadn’t stuck Brazen on purely to write this review, I would have definitely chosen to watch it of my own free will. But sweet baby Jesus and the orphans do I wish I hadn’t.
Based on Nora Roberts’ 1988 pulp novel Brazen Virtue, Netflix’s distinctly made for TV-flavored movie adaptation stars Alyssa Milano (Charmed) as murder-mystery writer Grace Miller, who naturally has a self-proclaimed knack for being able to get “inside the mind of a killer.” When...

More like “Fifty Shades of Beige,” “Brazen” applies an unconvincing dollop of kink into an equally by-the-numbers suburban mystery, providing a vehicle for producer-star Alyssa Milano as a crime novelist turned sleuth after her sister’s murder. This Netflix adaptation of a 1988 tome by prolific romance scribe Nora Roberts is slick but increasingly silly, its various elements so obvious and formulaic that they induce giggles more than chills by the climax. Still, whether viewers are looking for unintentional laughs or the streaming equivalent of a throwaway beach read, Monika Mitchell’s feature does offer some guilty-pleasure entertainment value.
Introduced reading from her latest “Brazen Virtue” (the actual Roberts novel this is based on) at a public event, Milano’s Grace Miller is a celebrity author with a big fanbase. Having frowned upon some of Kathleen’s (Emilie Ullerup) past life choices, she hasn’t actually seen her younger sibling in five years,...

"Careful, Grace. Reign in your over-active imagination. Or I will do it for you." Netflix has revealed the first official trailer for Brazen, a murder mystery thriller adapted from "Brazen Virtue" by Nora Roberts. Grace, a prominent mystery writer and crime expert, hurries to her family home in Washington, D.C., after her estranged sister summons her. But when her sister is killed and her double life as a webcam performer is revealed, Grace ignores the warnings of the detective and gets involved in the case... Which doesn't sound like a good idea? But "true crime" is popular these days! So why not? Alyssa Milano stars as Grace, along with Sam Page, Malachi Weir, Barry W. Levy, Colleen Wheeler, Lossen Chambers, and Matthew Finlan. This looks like the weekly "crime drama" TV special, not anything worthwhile to watch in theaters. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Monika Mitchell's Brazen,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched the series finale of “The Bold Type,” which aired June 30 on Freeform.
Endings are hard. The penultimate season of “The Bold Type” — cut short by the pandemic — left Sutton Brady (Meghann Fahy) and Richard Hunter (Sam Page) in a difficult spot, disagreeing fundamentally on whether each wanted children following Sutton’s miscarriage. The final season appeared to be continuing down that path, with divorce on the table. But in the end, the fans got what they wanted.
“Yes, I always wanted kids,” Richard tells Sutton. “But I want you more.”
That conclusion almost didn’t happen, though.
“What ended up happening with Sutton’s storyline at the end — they rewrote it the night before we shot it,” Fahy told Variety in a Zoom interview alongside co-stars Katie Stevens and Aisha Dee, who play Jane Sloan and Kat Edison, respectively.

Good news, everyone: The Bold Type stuck the landing. The beloved Freeform dramedy has come to an end, and we're happy to report that everything is as it should be, mostly. Season five, as short as it was, has been a little rough, but apparently it was all a means to a nice ending that leaves the trio in all the places they should be. First, Sutton (Meghann Fahy) and Richard (Sam Page) are back together! After Sutton wrote him a beautiful recommendation for adoption, he told her that as much as he wanted kids, he would never really be happy without her, and now the divorce is off. It was truly all we've wanted all season! Meanwhile, things were a bit more complicated for Kat...

Raise your hand if you still haven't forgiven The Bold Type for the demise of Sutton (Meghann Fahy) and Richard (Sam Page). As scandalous as the beginning of their relationship was, they were a delightful pair, all the way up until their blissful marriage was torn apart by a disagreement over having kids. Now, they're back to sleeping together a few final times as they say their goodbyes...if it's really goodbye. E! News has an exclusive sneak peek at this week's series finale, in which Sutton and Richard go out to a bar in the midst of their little game of pretend, and they begin to talk about what they're even doing right now. It's enough to make us wonder if...

Warning: Spoilers ahead for episode two of the final season of “The Bold Type”
To say that Sutton Brady-Hunter is going through it in the first few episodes of the final season of “The Bold Type” would be an understatement. And with Wednesday’s episode making it official that she will no longer be Brady-Hunter, but just Brady, it’s easy to worry even more about our girl. But here’s the good news: Meghann Fahy says Sutton will be working through things in a healthier way.
In reality, Fahy has known Sutton and Richard’s divorce was coming for a while now. It’s something that she says she and Sam Page were very vocal about, in terms of how to handle everything. Even so, she was a bit surprised by the decision.
“I do remember, in season four, when they said, ‘You’re gonna get married, pregnant, have a miscarriage,...

Warning: The following contains spoilers for Wednesday’s The Bold Type premiere. Proceed at your own risk.
A contentious Bold Type romance has come to an end. During Wednesday’s fifth and final season premiere, Kat repeatedly ignored Eva’s texts after hooking up with the Republican Scarlet board member. The Bold Type is hoping good things really do come in small packages as the Freeform drama kicks off its abbreviated fifth and final season this Wednesday at 10/9c.

The Bold Type is heating things up before signing off for good. On Thursday, May 6, Freeform released the trailer for the fifth and final season of the popular dramedy, which kicks off Wednesday, May 26. And let's just say, it puts the bold in The Bold Type. We're, of course, talking about the forbidden romances teased for the show's last six episodes. For starters, there's Sutton (Meghann Fahy), who is struggling to come to terms with the fact that her marriage to Richard (Sam Page) is over. That's probably because the pair are seemingly still hooking up. "I miss you," Richard tells Sutton over drinks. Rightfully, Sutton responds, "What are we doing?" At...

The bold babes still have a lot to work through before the addictive Freeform drama concludes.
The network has dropped the full-length trailer for the final season of The Bold Type, which begins Wednesday, May 26, at 10/9c.
Six episodes remain, and it looks like there's a wealth of relationship drama on tap.
The trailer confirms Sam Page's return, and that can only mean one thing:
Richard and Sutton are definitely not over.
As much as the series has attempted to prove to audiences that one of the most popular couples is over, the trailer leaves some hints that there's uncharted territory for them yet.
Their disagreement about kids paved the way for their breakup, but could things have changed by the time The Bold Type Season 5 debuts?
Sutton admits to her friends in the trailer that getting over Richard "is going to be a process," but we also get...

The streaming debut of Gillian Flynn’s Amazon series “Utopia” this weekend marks a long time coming for the project, an adaptation of the 2013 British series of the same name. Flynn originally developed the project with her “Gone Girl” director David Fincher for HBO, but Fincher walked away after HBO balked at giving him his desired budget. Unfortunately, “Utopia” is far from the only lost Fincher-hbo project. Around the same time, Fincher was developing “Videosyncrazy,” a comedy series based on his experience in the music video world. The show followed a novice production assistant thrust into the chaos that was the dawn of the music video age in the 1980s.
In a new interview with The Ringer, Fincher’s “Videosyncrazy” co-writer Rich Wilkes reflects on the HBO comedy series that never was. The show, which went by the working titles “Living on Video” and “Video Synchronicity,” filmed episodes in the...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Love,” the penultimate episode of “The Bold Type” Season 4.
Meghann Fahy knows Freeform’s “The Bold Type” isn’t necessarily the most realistic, but in an interview with the Variety “After-Show,” she recognizes Sutton’s slow rise from assistant to junior stylist as a true-to-life arc.
“It took Sutton four years to become a junior stylist, she was an assistant for that long,” she says. In comparison to office wunderkinds Jane (Katie Stevens) and Kat (Aisha Dee), Sutton experiences real corporate ladder struggles and set backs before arriving at her dream job.
This payoff doesn’t serve as instant gratification, however.
In the penultimate episode of the fourth season, Sutton and Richard (Sam Page) hit a crossroads as a couple. Richard, at 41-years old, wants kids and doesn’t have time to waste. After Sutton suffers an early miscarriage,...
