  • Is just 7 years older than Rutina Wesley who played her daughter on True Blood (2008).
  • As a college project, Adina Porter adapted Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye for the stage. After contacting the author for permission to perform the work in New York, Morrison invited Porter to her home. Porter then performed her adaption for the esteemed author and her son, in Morrison's living room. With Toni Morrison's blessing, Porter then did a limited run of the adapted play (off Broadway.).

  • (May 27, 2013) Her second husband, Larry Earl Madison Jr. (b. February 14, 1958), died from heart attack at the age 55.
