Iron Maiden and Z2 Comics have announced a graphic novel based on the band’s Piece of Mind album, arriving November 21st. Below you can get an exclusive first look at the special alternate cover featuring Eddie as “The Trooper” and its accompanying collector’s card.
The graphic novel celebrates the 40th anniversary of the legendary 1983 album, which contains all-time Maiden classics such as “Where Eagles Dare,” “Die with Your Boots On,” and “The Trooper.”
With a solid track record of heavy metal collaborations with Anthrax, King Diamond, and more, Z2 Comics pulled out all the stops for Iron Maiden: Piece of Mind. The book features stories based on each of the album’s songs, including writing from frontman Bruce Dickinson (“Revelations”) along with an introduction penned by longtime Maiden manager Rod Smallwood.

Remembering The Comedians Of Comedy, Netflix's First True Original Production (A Quasi-Oral History)
If I asked you to name the first original production from Netflix, what would you say? An educated guess might bring you to "House of Cards" or "Lilyhammer," and that's a fair assessment. While the former was Netflix's first piece of original programming produced specifically for the company's streaming service (released in February of 2013), the latter technically has the honor of being Netflix's first original streaming production (premiering on Netflix in February of 2012), even though it was only partially funded by Netflix and actually premiered in Norway first under the TV network NRK1.
But what if I told you that neither of these was the first true Netflix original? What if I told you Netflix produced their first original production even before they created the now-defunct Red Envelope Entertainment? Yes, before streaming, Netflix had a film financing and acquisition arm that shuttered in 2008 after investing in more than 100 films and...

James Gunn, co-ceo of DC Studios, finally made the announcement this week that DC has the next decade entirely mapped out with new and exciting projects that they’ll be bringing to the big and small screen. Gunn made fans incredibly happy with the announcement of 10 new movies and tv shows all set to air within the next 8-10 years, as well as confirmed that audiences won’t have to wait years to see any of this new content since the next 4 movies (all set to air this year) will still be connected to the bigger DC Universe that Gunn is attempting to create.
That said, Gunn also confirmed that any other projects that the studio makes will be set outside the connected Dcu and will take place under a new label known as DC Elseworlds. This isn’t to be confused with the long-running DC Elseworlds comic-book run which...

I spent a decade of my life happily working in a comic shop, so I got used to people asking for my recommendations. Most of the time, customers were happy to try out the books I suggested. However, my toughest sell was always one of the comics I was most passionate about: Swamp Thing.
Alan Moore's seminal run on the book — more on that later — was something I discovered very early on in my own reading journey due to the writer's undeniable impact on Neil Gaiman, who served as my introduction to comics via "The Sandman." Once I had finished every Gaiman book I could find, I got started on the work of Alan Moore, whom he had cited as a major influence.
Of course, I loved "Watchmen" and "V For Vendetta," both undisputed classics, but it was Moore's work on "Swamp Thing" that truly blew my teenage mind.

Batman is one of DC's most popular and influential characters, which has meant we've gotten plenty of on-screen adaptations of him over the years. 1989's "Batman" helped to usher in the belief that superhero movies can be more than children's entertainment. While the character's other films have varied in tone throughout the years, the consistent moodiness of the "Batman" brand has been a crucial part of differentiating DC films from those made by Marvel Studios.
However, the current DC film slate is currently in a strange transitional period. In the wake of the DC Extended Universe's official unraveling, DC Studios rose in its place, with new co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran promising yet another cinematic reboot of the brand's characters. What this reboot entails is still largely unknown, but thanks to Gunn's lively social media presence, a few details have been revealed about what in the world this...

After three tumultuous outings, DC's "Titans" train continues to chug along in full force. Self-proclaimed as a new beginning for the series, the fourth season moves towards a more consistent future as a superhero show and quasi-family drama. As per usual, a new location and set of villains threaten to uproot the titular superhero team. But the supernatural reigns supreme this time around, delivering a blend of magic and horror more devious than the last three seasons combined. Throw in a few daddy issues, and you have a well-received fourth season. However, that's not all. A fan-favorite character will make their return sooner rather than later.
The fourth season of "Titans" looks to turn the page on the long-standing series, but it is still not afraid to pull from the past. The origins of Mother Mayhem (Franka Potente) and Brother Blood (Joseph Morgan) are distinctly tied to the events of the very first season.

Nickelback owns a particularly unique space in the annals of rock, on one hand selling more than 50 million albums to become the 11th best-selling band in history, while on the other being relentlessly trashed by haters.
Appearing on Barstool Sports’ “KFC Radio” podcast, Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, Ryan Peake and Daniel Adair weighed in on where that animosity toward the band first originated, claiming to have pinpointed what they believe to be ground zero for Nickelback hate.
“There were these milestones that started this snowball rolling… Some comedian — I’m gonna have to go find the guy’s name so I can go bomb his house — makes this s**ty crack about us,” Kroeger explained. “And he’s on Comedy Central. They took that, they put it in a commercial for that one show.”

The live-action Titans series has been flawed from the get-go by presenting us with a Dick Grayson that the writers woefully misunderstand. There is no comic book creator who ever depicted Grayson in this manner so it sets the wrong tone. Its low-budget when created for the short-lived DC Universe streaming service didn’t help.
And yet, it has staggered through three seasons, with a fourth now streaming on HBO Max. Just last week, Warner Home Entertainment released Titans: The Complete Third Season on Blu-ray (no DVD or 4K).

Gotham Knights is destined to be controversial, but the game does deserve quite a bit of credit for featuring an extensive co-op mode that allows you to team up with friends and take on the Gotham underworld together. Like so many other aspects of Gotham Knights, though, the game’s co-op multiplayer mode is hindered by some questionable design decisions that will limit how many people actually get to enjoy that feature.
So while you may be one of those unfortunate players who won’t be able to properly enjoy Gotham Knights‘ multiplayer due to a few key restrictions, here’s what you need to know about how to unlock and use that feature in the first place.

Gotham Knights might look like an Arkham game, but the new action-adventure title is actually a completely new Batman adventure that even features a new cast of characters and voice actors.
We’ll have a lot to say about Gotham Knights in the coming days, but the quality of the game’s cast really is one of the game’s greatest assets. This is a slightly deeper dive into the Batman roster than we’re used to seeing in games, which means that the game gives us the chance to spend some time with some faces we’re not always used to seeing. Of course, it’s the voices of those characters as much as their faces that really sell how much they belong to be the stars of an unlikely Gotham adventure.
Before we dive into Gotham Knight‘s roll call, a brief word of warning. While this post...

Titans Season 4 is fast approaching, and HBO Max unveiled the first look at some new characters.
As previously reported, Joseph Morgan will debut as Sebastian Blood, aka Brother Blood, in the fourth season.
The first look photo shows Morgan in action as the new villain who will surely cause a lot of problems for the Titans.
Brother Blood is described as an “introverted man with a strong intelligence and a hidden, darker nature.”
Franka Potente is set to play May Bennett, aka Mother Mayhem.
The character is described as a “natural leader who always carries the threat of violence with her."
"[She is] a predator in human form with an unfettered belief in her mission in the world.”
Cool costume, right?
Lisa Ambalavanar to play Jinx.
Described as a “quick-witted criminal longer and a master of dark magic with a joy for manipulating others and creating chaos while doing it.”

I wish I wasn’t such a sucker for books like this but c’mon, who can’t resist picking up a book called this, with a cover like this, and featuring the blurb ‘father vs son for the fate of the Dcu’. That was enough to reel me in, but when I saw that Mark Waid was writing this, I was all in. I tend to find that Waid always understands his characters so well, so he can take a throwaway editorial edict and actually make it not only work but also add something extra to the mythology.
Let’s be honest, though, Batman has been in conflict with Robin from the start. He fell out with Dick Grayson, has had a rocky relationship with Tim Drake, struggles to control Damian Wayne, and let’s not get started on Jason Todd.

The People’s Joker opens with a disclaimer: “This film is a parody and is at the present time completely unauthorized by DC Comics, Warner Brothers, or anyone claiming ownership of the trademarks therein…”
The fact that the film, which was directed, cut and performed by Vera Drew from a script by Drew and Bri LeRose, requires the statement up front isn’t surprising. This transgender Joker origin story is steeped in Batman and DC references, but it is unabashedly ruthless in who and what it mocks, resolutely taking aim at certain canonical characters and plotlines while also reverently paying homage to many iterations of Batsy.
Credit creator Drew, who repurposes her own trans experience to tell the coming of age/coming out story of young Joker (Griffin Kramer). Growing up in Smallville with her mother (Lynn Downey) and absent, never seen father, Joker feels out of place in her male body.

Titans Season 4 gets underway on HBO Max later this year.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Titus Welliver has joined the cast as Lex Luthor.
Showrunner Greg Walker told the outlet that this iteration of Lex "has a very sensitive, thoughtful approach to evil and power."
Naturally, this sudden arrival will have a big effect on Connor.

“What does that mean when you do?”
Connor has been struggling to come to grips with a life away from a lab, regularly being put in the firing line.

Anyone even remotely familiar with comic books knows that superheroes never die. Peter Parker’s beloved Uncle Ben may be forever pushing up daisies, but if even Jason Todd and Bucky Barnes can return from the grave, then nobody is gone forever. That might even be true for live-action, as Carrie Fisher and Peter Cushing appeared in Star Wars films after their deaths and even a young Mark Hamill popped up in The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett.

Collaboration in comedy can be hard. The genre is largely subjective and funny people have differing perspectives on what is and isn’t funny. But what about when one comedic collaborator is an apple that hasn’t fallen too far from the other’s comedy tree, so to speak?
Such is the case with the new Audible podcast series Summer in Argyle. First developed and written by Nate Odenkirk, then punched up, rewritten, and produced with the assistance of his quite notable father, Bob Odenkirk, Summer in Argyle is a generational Odenkirk-ian effort. The father-son duo worked on the project during the height of the pandemic, turning the already fraught creative process into more intense of a beast.

On Monday, Audible released the trailer for Summer in Argyle, a new podcast created by Bob and Nate Odenkirk, which releases March 10.
“When Richie dies at the hot dog eating contest, it shocks the town,” Bob — who narrates the show — says in the trailer.

Paramount Plus today launched the trailer for original special “Reno 911! The Hunt for QAnon,” following all-new misadventures of the hapless law-enforcement team as they try to track down the elusive leader of the pro-Trump conspiracy movement.
In “Reno 911! The Hunt for QAnon,” set to premiere Thursday, Dec. 23, exclusively on Paramount Plus, the deputies from the Reno Sheriff’s Department get stuck at a QAnon convention at sea — escaping only to discover that they’ve become stranded on Jeffrey Epstein’s old island. (Watch the trailer below.)
The special, from MTV Entertainment Studios, reunites the entire original “Reno 911!” cast, including Thomas Lennon, Robert Ben Garant, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Cedric Yarbrough, Carlos Alazraqui, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Niecy Nash, Mary Birdsong and Ian Roberts.
Also appearing the trailer are Patton Oswalt, who evidently reprises his recurring “Reno 911!” role as a right-wing radio host, and comedians Brian Posehn and Steve Agee as Maga devotees...

When news broke on Tuesday that Norm Macdonald had died, comedians, actors and writers took to social media to mourn and remember the life of the famed “Saturday Night Live” alum. Macdonald died of cancer at age 61 after a private struggle with the disease.
Macdonald was best known for starring on “Saturday Night Live” in 1993 and his anchoring “Weekend Update” until early 1998, when he was replaced by Colin Quinn. He gave dry, sardonic and memorable impressions of Burt Reynolds, David Letterman, Larry King and Quentin Tarantino and more during his five-year run on the show. During his career, he was also a writer on “Roseanne,” created “The Norm Show” with Bruce Helford on ABC and appeared in movies and shows like “Dirty Work,” “Billy Madison,” “The People vs. Larry Flynt,” “Dr. Dolittle,” “The Orville” and more.

At its peak in 2004, Blockbuster licensed its name to nearly 9,000 video rental stores around the world. According to my calculations, that means the chain, which specialized in stocking up on new releases (and strangling competitors out of business), must have had at least 90,000 copies of “Gigli” in circulation.
Today, you can’t find even a single “Gigli” DVD at the one remaining Blockbuster store on Earth — a family-owned, community-supported franchise holdout in Bend, Ore. I know because I just got off the phone with them. “Can you spell it?” asked the clerk, unfamiliar with the 2004 Ben Affleck-Jennifer Lopez flop. That said, you can still find thousands of other movies for rent, the increasing rarity of which is apparently enough to inspire pilgrimages to this Tuvalu-like outpost for many who associate Blockbuster with early jobs and/or formative movie-watching experiences — even though there are probably local stores that could...

This article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian season 2 episode 4.
Though Disney+’s first Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian is only a year old, the series is already starting to circle back on its own mythology. In season 2 episode 4 “The Siege,” the show brings back a secondary character who factored heavily into the series’ very first scene.
That’s right: Horatio Sanz’s “The Mythrol” is back and he’s just as useless as ever. Longtime Mando fans will remember Sanz’s unnamed Mythrol as the first bounty that the show’s titular bounty hunter collected. After saving the Mythrol’s life from a group of trawlers, Din Djarin a.k.a. The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) went ahead and captured the amphibious rogue himself. The Mythrol was encased in carbonite Han Solo-style and handed over to the Bounty Hunters’ Guild.

The Big Bang Theory’s Brian Posehn and Veep’s Matt Walsh are among the stars of TruTV’s latest non-scripted entertainment series.
The WarnerMedia cable network has ordered America’s Funniest Home Videos-style series Top Secret Videos.
The show will feature embarrassing, ridiculous, and bizarre behavior caught on camera with a group of “Nsa interns” dissecting it. In addition to Posehn and Walsh, this group includes Trolls’ Ron Funches and The Tonight Show’s Ali Kolbert.
It will launch on October 29 after Impractical Jokers: Dinner Party.
The show is produced by Industrial Media’s The Intellectual Property Corporation (Ipc), the company behind HBO’s We’re Here and YouTube’s original Paris Hilton documentary This Is Paris. In the age of streaming and VOD, movie fans old enough to remember the era of VHS and DVD rentals are surely filled with warm and fuzzy memories of browsing the aisles of their local Blockbuster Video. While they once numbered over 9,000 locations, there now exists a single Blockbuster store, in Bend, Oregon, which is offering a very special blast from the past in the form of three available overnight stays on Airbnb.
Yes, you can actually have a movie-night sleepover inside an actual Blockbuster, which has created a living room space amid its towering shelves of movies. The decor harkens back to the 1990s peak of the rental chain, with a pull-out couch and pastel-patterned bedspreads and pillows. Guests will be able to play VHS movies on the included 4:3 TV.
Unfortunately, the sleepovers are available only to residents in Bend’s Deschutes County. Beginning on August 17 at 1 p.

I do have to admit that the simple reason for me watching Seven Stages To Achieve Eternal Bliss is because Taiki Waititi stars in it. As is often the case, just because one actor yu like is in a movie (particularly low budget movies) it might not be the best reason to view it. But it’s Taiki Waititi right?!
As you might be expecting Waititi isn’t actually in the movie a whole lot but on to that later. Seven Stages To Achieve Eternal Bliss is a ridiculous comedy about a young couple who move in to a place that is clearly to good to be true. It’s well located, super cheap and is home to ritualistic...

Deadly Class Season 1 Episode 4
Deadly Class seems determined to call up every recognizable 80s movie setting in its first season, from the house party to the school dance and now The Breakfast Club clique-bonding in detention. But you know what? The strategy has actually worked for the most part, and “Mirror People” gives us a glimpse behind the facades many of the characters depend on to hide their vulnerabilities. The theme of family that pervades the emotional moments of this episode creates a nice sense of depth to a story that brings much needed humanity to a series that has already had its ups and downs.

“Minecraft: Story Mode” features a cast filled with celebrities and veteran voice talent, including Patton Oswalt, Catherine Taber, Brian Posehn, John Hodgman, Matthew Mercer, David Fennoy, and Corey Feldman. The first three episodes are available now, with another two episodes coming on Dec. 5, according to IGN. The original season ran eight episodes when it launched on PC and consoles in 2015. [Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “New Girl” Season 7, Episode 8, “Engram Pattersky” — the series finale — as well as previous episodes.]
If you would’ve told me the final scene of “New Girl” would be a season-altering twist by Prank Sinatra himself — aka Winston Bishop (Lamorne Morris), aka. Winnie the Bish, aka the father who named his son Dan Bill Bishop while his wife was sleeping — I might not have even watched the finale; that’s how worried I would’ve been about ending this particular broadcast sitcom with a jarring revelation instead of a heartwarming goodbye.
After all, “New Girl” struggled when it pushed itself into overly ambitious territory. The ongoing will-they-won’t-they romance of Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) got so complicated they had to set it aside until fear of cancellation set in. Their big swing in the post-Super Bowl spot was the biggest miss of the series. Heck, most of the...

Excessive absurdity is to be expected from a film titled “7 Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss by Passing Through the Gateway Chosen by the Holy Storsh,” and Vivieno Caldinelli’s feature doesn’t disappoint in that regard. But the outlandishness proffered by this comedy is of such a strident sort that any possible laughs quickly turn to eye-rolling groans. Despite inclusion in the Midnight movies section of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, this atonal affair is unlikely to elicit much good will from audiences of any genre persuasion.
Ohio transplants Claire (Kate Micucci) and Paul (Sam Huntington) have no sooner moved into their new Los Angeles apartment than they’re discovering the reason for its unbelievably low rent: It’s the former home of the Holy Storsh (Taika Waititi), a cult leader who killed himself in the bathtub, and is now a place where his disciples come to follow his fatal lead.

The season 11 finale of “The Big Bang Theory” will hear wedding bells ringing for Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik), with a wedding guest list full of guest stars, including the previously announced Kathy Bates and comedian Teller, who will play Amy’s parents, Variety has learned.
Neither performer has appeared on the series before, but Amy’s mother has previously been described as controlling and overprotective. Bates will replace Annie O’Donnell, who briefly appeared as Mrs. Fowler in a 2010 episode.
Other guest stars in this finale episode include “Star Wars” icon Mark Hamill, Lauren Lapkus, and Jerry O’Connell, the latter of whom plays Sheldon’s brother, Georgie. Hamill’s role has not yet been announced, and it is unclear if he will play himself like fellow “Star Wars” alums Carrie Fisher and James Earl Jones, who both previously appeared on the show.

Another star from a galaxy far far away will be making an appearance on CBS’ hit comedy series The Big Bang Theory.
Star Wars’ Mark Hamill will be among the guest stars confirmed for the upcoming Season 11 finale of Big Bang, which will feature the wedding of Sheldon and Amy. It is unclear whether, like fellow Star Wars icons Carrie Fisher and James Earl Jones who had appeared on the show before him, Hamill will play himself.
Also guest starring in the finale, airing on May 10, is Kathy Bates. Sheldon’s family will be well represented, with Laurie Metcalf, Courtney Henggeler and Jerry O’Connell, who play his mother Mary, twin sister Missy and older brother Georgie, respectively, all in attendance.
Also on the guest list for the finale are recurring Big Bang actors John Ross Bowie and Wil Wheaton as well as Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn and Teller.
