Matt Pyken is an American television writer and producer best known for critically acclaimed shows such as the Emmy and Writer's Guild Award winning Mr. Robot, the megahit Empire, and the groundbreaking Queer as Folk. Matt began his career in television by adapting Fox Hunt, a video game he co-created, as a television pilot, and has written and produced a wide range of television dramas, including Castle, Las Vegas, and NCIS: Los Angeles. Matt is widely considered to be the first American writer/producer to initiate a Western-style writer's room in Mumbai, where he collaborated with Indian writers and directors on several projects, including Leila for Netflix, and the upcoming Mughals for Hotstar. He previously worked in Washington D.C., and around the U.S., as a political consultant, speechwriter, and campaign manager. Matt attended Claremont McKenna College, where he received degrees in Literature and Political Science.
