Headshot 2023
A prime-time network news magazine show premieres controversial leaked footage from a highly-classified U.S. government program named Nocturne Six that recruits citizens with extrasensory abilities. Forced into the program by unscrupulous means, these gifted, yet apprehensive citizens, known as "guardians", are sent to parallel planes of Earth in order to thwart imminent attacks by dangerous supernatural entities.

Rhona Rees is an award winning performer, writer and director with more than 28 years experience in front of the camera and behind the mic. She was a child actor in Australia and her first role at the age of 11 was the lead in a film with Australian screen legend Ernie Dingo. She enjoyed a busy career in Australia, with lead and supporting roles in series like Ocean girl, Blabbermouth and Stickybeak and High Flyers, before moving to Vancouver, BC in 2012.

Rhona is well known for her voice work which includes animated series like The dragon Prince, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Lego Ninjago, Polly Pocket and Littlest Pet Shop. Rhona also voices video games (Rainbow Six Siege, Rainbow Six Extraction, Dragalia Lost) and hundreds of commercials (Hyundai, Chromebook, Huggies and Manulife to name a few). In 2021 Rhona began working as a voice director. Her voice directing credits include 'My First Barbie: Happy DreamDay' and 'Isabel and Nicki's Super Duper Twin Adventures' for Mattel, a Nintendo RPG (unreleased) and a preschool special for PBS (also unreleased).

As well as her work as a performer, Rhona is an emerging screenwriter and director. Her short film FREYA has won multiple awards at film festivals around the world - including Newport Beach Film Festival, Fantasia Film Festival and Etheria. It was acquired by CBC Gem in Canada and Dust worldwide excluding Canada. Rhona won the AACTA & Monster Pictures 'Mother' pitch competition in 2022 and is currently adapting FREYA the short into a feature. Rhona and her team will be pitching FREYA at the Frontières international co-production market in Montreal in July 2023. Rhona's subsequent short film, Call Button, which she wrote and directed, has played at various festivals including Mammoth Film Festival, the Sonoma International Film Festival and Dam Short fest. Rhona also writes for animation and developed a 2D kids series with WildBrain studios in 2020.

Rhona is an improviser and competed in 2019 in the Vancouver Improv League as captain of the English Bay Blues. She is also a dialect coach, voice teacher and co-creator of Mistressclass, an educational webinar series for the film industry.
