In a September 2014 interview with Captial News reporter Elizabeth E. Thorp, Jeremy Renner confirmed his marriage to Sonni Pacheco, mother of his daughter Ava Berlin.

Wife Sonni filed for divorce after 10 months of marriage citing irreconcilable differences, requesting that their prenup be disregarded as fraud.

Hawkeye's monologue during the car chase scene with Black Widow in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) about remodelling the character's house is a thinly-veiled reference to Renner's real-life hobby of remodelling Hollywood movie star's homes.
