Kim Rhodes is opening up about a time that Dylan Sprouse was horribly mistreated and body shamed by a higher-up on the set of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
If you forgot, Kim played the musically gifted mother to twins Zack and Cody (played by Dylan and Cole Sprouse) on the hit Disney Channel series.
During a recent podcast appearance, she looked back on a time that she advocated for the child stars while on set. More specifically, she recalled a time that Dylan was made to feel awful about his body and how she responded.

“The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” actor Kim Rhodes, who played the spunky mother of the titular twins on the hit Disney Channel series, revealed pre-teen stars Dylan and Cole Sprouse often defended her on the show’s set.
Speaking on the “Back to the Best” podcast last week, Rhodes recalled a particular moment when Dylan Sprouse refused to tell a “fat joke” at her expense.
“They defended me all the way through. I got pregnant when I was on the show, and of course the show dealt with it by making fat jokes,” Rhodes said. “One of my favorite memories is Dylan had a line that was a fat joke, and he just kept skipping over it. It was like in the middle of a chunk of dialogue, so he kept skipping this laugh line … And finally we get in front of the studio audience and he skips it,...

Those who grew up watching Disney Channel likely loved to see the mischief caused by Zack and Cody Martin on the popular show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The twin brothers were played by Dylan and Cole Sprouse, and they tortured Mr. Moseby (Phill Lewis) while somewhat befriending Maddie Fitzpatrick (Ashley Tisdale) and London Tipton (Brenda Song). Years later, the show is long gone, and the cast is all grown up.

“Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo hasn’t officially given a statement about the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, but she has shared something perhaps more powerful: a picture. On Tuesday, the Golden Globe-nominated actor posted a meme of herself from her hit show, criticizing Netflix for failing to pay actors residuals.
The meme Pompeo posted on her Instagram Stories references the Season 2 episode “As We Know It,” which sees Dr. Meredith Grey operating on a man with a bomb in his chest. A crossed-armed image of Meredith is captioned with the text “Me when there’s a [bomb emoji] in the chest cavity.” Above that, Pompeo wrote, “Also me when @netflix Doesn’t pay actors residuals holla let’s talk [sic].”

As the SAG-AFTRA strike continues, several actors have come forward to share their residual checks. Streaming residuals stand as a major point of concern for both the Screen Actors Guild and the Writers Guild of America.
WGA captain Caroline Renard shared a TikTok from “P-Valley” star Brandee Evans. In the video, which was posted in May prior to the latest strike, Evans shares three residual checks from SAG-AFTRA. The first two checks are for $3.99 and $4.67, respectively, and the third one is for $0.01.
Evans plays series lead Mercedes Woodbine on the Starz original and has appeared in 17 of 18 episodes of the GLAAD and TCA-nominated series.

It goes without saying that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) are the heart of "Supernatural." Throughout its 15-season run, the monster-slaying brothers were the face of the CW series: its story begins and ends with them, saving people, hunting things and living up to their family legacy. But its also true that they couldn't have saved the world from multiple apocalypses without a little help from their friends.
As the seasons progressed, what began as a story about two brothers searching for their father became a beautiful example of the power of found family. It's hard to remember a time before Castiel (Misha Collins) was a core part of their team and, while he's only introduced in the last couple of seasons, Jack Kline (Alexander Calvert) later becomes a crucial addition to their family.

Supernatural ran for 15 years and is the longest continuously running American science fiction and fantasy show in history (pipped only by Doctor Who 1966-1989 in the UK). It has a devoted fanbase and has produced novels, graphic novels, a short web-series, and a Japanese anime adaptation. Surely, then, the show is a perfect jumping-off point for a spin-off series? That’s a no-brainer, right?
Except that there have been two previous attempts at a Supernatural spin-off, both getting a pilot episode aired during the show itself, neither of which were picked up by the network. Now, Dean Winchester himself, Jensen Ackles, is producing another attempt, with the first season of The Winchesters due to air on the CW this autumn. So, what does this one need to do to succeed where the two earlier attempts have failed?

The actress is best known for playing Carey Martin, the zany mother on “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” — and a few episodes of its spinoff “The Suite Life on Deck” — as well as Jody Mills on The CW’s long-running hit “Supernatural.” Like many, Rhodes joined TikTok during quarantine, cataloging her descent into cabin fever.

Today, the CW gave a thumbs up for Supernatural‘s 15th season, and as the series closes in on its 300th episode on February 7, it may just be the longest-running hourlong series on an outlier network.
Said the CW president Mark Pedowitz at TCA about the network’s continued commitment to the series: “As long as the ratings hold up and the guys (stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) want to do it, it’s really that simple. They have created something about these two brothers that actually transcends.”
Created by Eric Kripke, Supernatural centers on two brothers who follow their father’s footsteps as “hunters,” fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds including monsters, demons and gods that roam the Earth.
A key reason why Supernatural has remained on the air is that it’s a great launchpad for frosh CW shows.

As wildly popular and successful as Supernatural has proven to be, the seemingly immortal horror series has yet to produce a spinoff that’s made it beyond the backdoor pilot stage. So far, both “Bloodlines” and “Wayward Sisters” failed to gain enough traction with the fanbase as to allow for an offshoot, even if I assumed the latter was pretty much a lock.
Speaking of “Wayward Sisters,” the girls making up that particular lot are expected to return in full force at some point over the next year. In fact, a few specifics have just hit the web, so let’s discuss them, shall we?
While recently speaking with TV Line, executive producer and co-showrunner Andrew Dabb revealed that fan favorite actress Kim Rhodes will reprise her role as Jody Mills following “a mysterious death, when it turns out that she and Sam and Dean are looking for the same person,...

Ausiello: Remember how mopey DeLuca was at the end of Season 14? Ok, now forget that. “He does bounce back,” showrunner Krista Vernoff recently told TVLine. “Meredith’s [season-finale] pep talk helped, and in the premiere, there’s a situation where his brain sort of gets flooded with adrenaline, and that jerks him out of the last of that depression. So he comes into Season 15 with a new energy that’s sexy and funny.

Before Wayward Sisters‘ Claire Novak escaped death, she once feared a grim ending to her story, as seen in this exclusive deleted scene from Supernatural Season 13.
As viewers will recall, Sheriff Jody Mills (played by Kim Rhodes) warned her surrogate daughter Claire (Kathryn Newton) about Patience’s (Clark Backo) deadly vision in the potential spinoff’s backdoor pilot. The psychic teen then filled in the details. But in the above video, Claire learns her fate during a different exchange.
“What exactly did you see?” Claire asks as she, Patience and dreamwalker Kaia (Yadira Guevara-Prip) drive during a rainy, ominous night.

Just because The CW didn’t pickup the “Wayward Sisters” spinoff doesn’t mean they’re gone for good.
Jody and the rest of the girl gang who appeared in Season 13, Episode 10, which served as the backdoor pilot for the potential spinoff, will be returning to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in the upcoming season of the longstanding drama.
“All of the characters are going to make their return one way or the other,” showrunner Andrew Dabb said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

CW boss Mark Pedowitz received his semi-annual TCA question on whether there would be a Supernatural spinoff down the road and his response today was, “If the executive producers want to do one, we’re open to listening to one.”
Back at May upfronts Pedowitz said that the Supernatural spin-off Wayward Sisters wasn’t moving forward. Today the CW president said in response to that series’ stall “we had a certain number of spots this year, so it just didn’t get there.”
Wayward Sisters was to star the original series’ Kim Rhodes in a story about Sheriff Jody Mills (Rhodes) and a group of troubled young women, all orphaned by supernatural tragedy who, under Mills’ training, become a monster-fighting force.
Pedowitz mentioned that Supernatural is such a great franchise, he’s “concerned” that “there may not be a franchise beyond that.”

After two attempts at a Supernatural spinoff, CW President Mark Pedowitz has come to the conclusion that what makes the long-running hit drama so successful is its leading men.
“I am concerned… it may be [stars] Jared [Padalecki] and Jensen [Ackles]. And there may not be a franchise beyond that,” Pedowitz admitted at the Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour on Monday.
However, “if there’s a great idea that [the producers] want to go forward with, we’re open to listening. It is a great franchise,” Pedowitz added.
The show’s most recent effort at a backdoor pilot for an offshoot, Wayward Sisters, failed to get a series pickup.

Supernatural, the longest-running sci-fi series on primetime TV, took its traditional Sunday spot in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con.
Moderated by Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict (both appear on the show), the panel included the Winchesters Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as well as Misha Collins and Comic-Con first-timer Alexander Calvert. Executive producers and co-showrunners Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb also took the dais alongside executive producing/writing team Eugenie Ross-Leming and Brad Buckner to talk about the upcoming 14th season without revealing any spoilers.
Season 14 also marks a huge milestone for the series. The Winchesters and company will hit the 300 mark when Episode 13 of the season hits. Singer and Dabb might not have everything planned out, but they did give fans some minor details.
“Andrew has a plan — he hasn’t let me in on it,” said Singer. “I am directing it … but I’d like to know what I am directing!

Supernatural spinoff Wayward Sisters did not get a pickup because it was not where it needed to be creatively, CW chief Mark Pedowitz says.
It was the very first question Pedowitz got on his phone call with press before this morning’s Upfront presentation to advertisers.
“We had really great material this year,” he said. “We’re really exited about the five series we did pick up. We are big fans of the characters and the women who played the characters in the series, but we did not feel creatively the show is where we wanted it to be. We felt we had a better shot with Legacies.”
Pedowitz added that CW execs are “big fans” of the Wayward actresses “and hope they continue on…guest starring on Supernatural.”
But, he reiterated, he “did not feel [Wayward] was where it needed to be to go forward with it this year.”

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… if the television pilot that you wrote, cast, produced, shot, acted in and/or toiled over in an all-encompassing manner landed a coveted series pickup.
If not, Upfronts Week — aka the time when networks greenlight the shows with which they’ll fill the upcoming year’s line-ups — is a rough go. And it seems even worse when you consider the potential series that had so much buzz and such sparkling star power, they seemed like slam-dunks for the fall or midseason schedule.
We’ve outlined a few of the most-talked-about passes below.

We're sorry to report The CW has declined to order the Wayward Sisters TV show to series. The project would have been a spinoff to the network's successful, long-lived Supernatural and aired as a backdoor pilot, during the current season of the original program. It did well in the ratings and drew a lot of social media attention, so the decision not to move forward is frustrating to the cast and crew -- and to fans as well (this writer among them). Developed by Andrew Dabb and Robert Berens, Wayward Sisters stars Kim Rhodes, Briana Buckmaster, Kathryn Newton, Katherine Ramdeen, Clark Backo, and Yadira Guevara-Prip. Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles co-starred in the Wayward Sisters pilot, which aired as episode 13.10 of Supernatural on January 18, 2018, on The CW. The entire Supernatural...

Wayward Sisters cast members and writers are reacting to the news that the CW has decided not to move forward with the Supernatural spinoff. It was the second time the CW did a pilot for a Supernatural spinoff that didn’t go to series. Instead, the CW opted to go with Legacies, a new series in The Vampire Diaries/The Originals universe.
Wayward Sisters co-creator Andrew Dabb was one of the first to share the news on Twitter
“It breaks my heart to say this,” he wrote, “but CW has chosen to pass on Wayward Sisters. We love these characters, and have spent almost two years trying to make this show a reality on the network… but there are some fights, sometimes, you can’t win.”

CBS’ Criminal Minds team will find their crime-solving style effectively cramped this Wednesday at 10/9c, when haughty FBI honcho Linda Barnes tags along on a case. (Ugh.)
After all, the ambitious Executive Assistant Director of the FBI (played by Kim Rhodes) already has rattled the ranks by benching Prentiss and putting Jj in charge, all while putting the Bau on notice that their admittedly successful strategies sometimes are… suspect.
Here, original cast member (and occasional episode writer) Kirsten Vangness previews Barnes’ butting-in, which will be followed by a stealthy Bau op that fuels one of the actress’ favorite episodes ever.
