From XYZ Films and Dark Horse Entertainment, Charlie Day (Fool’s Paradise) has been set to star in the dark comedy Kill Me, directed and written by Peter Warren (The Auteur).
The upcoming film is said to be “a gripping, hilarious, and deeply moving murder mystery.”
In Kill Me, Jimmy (Charlie Day) wakes up in a bathtub after having tried to kill himself. Or, at least, that’s what it looks like to his friends and family.
Jimmy is pretty sure he didn’t do it…Maybe. Together with Margot, the 911 operator who took his call, Jimmy sets out on a mission to solve a vitally important whodunit: did someone try to kill him, or are they chasing the specter of depression?
“When we first read Peter Warren’s script, we were impressed with his honest portrayal of depression and mental health, while still delivering a great mystery with plenty of humor.

For a comic book movie franchise that has never reached the heights of most Marvel or DC films of the last two decades, "Hellboy" has remained shockingly resilient. To that end, Mike Mignola's beloved character is set for yet another big-screen reboot in the form of "Hellboy: The Crooked Man." This time around, the character will be headed back to the 1950s for a folk horror adventure based on one the most celebrated storylines from the comics.
This will be the character's first film since 2019's "Hellboy." Starring David Harbour, it proved to be a critical and commercial disaster. Be that as it may, Millennium Media is set to try to bring the character to life once again with a lower-budget take on the material. So, when will you be able to see the movie? Who is playing Hellboy? Who is directing this time around? We've got all of...

A new "Hellboy" reboot is coming! Created by artist and writer Mike Mignola in 1993 for Dark Horse Comics, Hellboy is a larger-than-life half-human, a half-demon superhero. Through the decades, Hellboy has found steady success in printed publications and continued to appear on the page even 30 years after his origin. In a comics landscape that is consistently changing, Hellboy has managed to stay endlessly relevant.
While the monster hunter has been successful in the arena of comic books, his arrival on the silver screen is mired with uncertainty. The character has been previously brought to life in Guillermo del Toro's two-part film franchise starring actor Ron Perlman as the harbinger of the apocalypse. While the first two films made a "little bit of profit," a third never materialized as studios saw it as a "dangerous" project, del Toro once revealed.
A 2019 reboot of the film starring actor David Harbour was a commercial and critical failure.

Following their collaboration on Apache Delivery Service, the creative trio of Matt Kindt, Tyler Jenkins, and Hilary Jenkins are reteaming for the horror comic book miniseries Hairball, centered on an increasingly dysfunctional family and the cat that may (or may not) be the source of their destruction.
Ahead of the first issue's release this April through Kindt's Flux House imprint at Dark Horse Comics, we've been provided with an exclusive reveal of the cover art for the fourth issue, as well as a look at the fur-lined cover for the upcoming trade paperback release of Hairball!
Here's what Matt Kindt had to say about Hairball and its uniquely unsettling trade paperback cover:
I want Hairball to be an uncomfortable book, but in an entertaining way.
This is a book about the slow disintegration of a family. It's also about a possibly supernatural cat that seems to be at the center of it all.

Comics author Matt Kindt grew up with cats, having the critters through his school and university years. He even had a few when he got married and had his child. Then around the age of 30, he became suddenly allergic to them.
“It was a pretty miserable experience,” Kindt tells The Hollywood Reporter. “They were in my house but they couldn’t be on my bed. I couldn’t play with them. I loved the cats but hated what they were doing to me.”
That dynamic informs Hairball, the newest comic from Kindt and his frequent collaborator, artist Tyler Jenkins, with whom he created well-regarded comics Grass Kings, Black Badge and Fear Case. Jenkins’ wife Hilary Jenkins, handles the coloring.

There's nobody in the world who can replicate Jim Carrey's unique on-screen energy and presence. He's the sort of performer where you can't imagine anybody else in any of his roles — is there literally anybody else who could have played Dr. Robotnik in the "Sonic the Hedgehog" movies? Absolutely not! Could just anybody have made "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" work? Not on your life, buddy! Carrey is a specific type of weirdo that Hollywood seems to be unable to find another one of, and that makes him an invaluable part of many comedic films.
But before Carrey was harassing people while method acting as Andy Kaufman or making disturbing paintings of Donald Trump, he was just another young comedian trying to make a name for himself. And despite his clear and unique talent, he had to start his career at the bottom like everybody else.

As Deadline reported, Resident Alien received a 12-episode Season 3 renewal in July, ahead of the August 10 premiere of the second half of its second season. The series’ first season consisted of 10 episodes, its 16-episode second season was split into two batches of eight episodes each.
The UCP-produced Resident Alien was a breakout for Syfy when it premiered in 2021. The first part of Season 2 also did well, ranking among this year’s top 15 most-watched cable series and top 5 most-watched cable dramas, averaging 2.3 million viewers in L+7. Abubakr Ali, the titular star of the recently canceled Netflix series Grendel, is speaking out about the show’s cancellation and what it means for Muslim representation on the screen.
In Grendel, Ali became the first Arab Muslim male actor to portray a series lead in a comic book adaptation. Earlier this week, Netflix revealed it would not be moving forward with the series. The decision was made after Grendel had done the bulk of its filming but the series was not finished, so there is currently a partial eight-episode season in the can. Producers have the option to shop the series.
In a post on Instagram, Ali noted that “Despite making up 24 percent of the world’s population, Muslim actors only make up 1 of speaking characters on TV.”
