So, naturally, she needs him to wake up. Many fans took her statement to mean she wants to tell Dante that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is alive, but others have picked up on a different tone and implication in her voice. Is Sam expecting Dante’s next baby?
And if so, will he miss out on this experience with her? Will it be Jason filling those shoes all over again, despite it not being his baby?

On the most recent episode of his Daily Drama podcast, which he co-hosts with Bradford Anderson, actor Steve Burton announced that his recent return to “General Hospital” included signing a two-year deal with ABC that will keep him in Port Charles for at least that time. Burton’s comments are in response to speculation on social media that he wouldn’t be staying long-term, specifically that he only signed a three-month deal.
“Obviously, they are going for clickbait because nothing they’re posting is even remotely true,” Burton pointed out to Anderson, his “General Hospital” co-star, who also recently returned to the show, albeit on a recurring basis, as Damian Spinelli.
“They said that I only signed a three-month contract, and then I’m dying,” said Burton, summarizing discussions across various Facebook fan groups about his status on the daytime drama series. “Hey, guess what? It’s a two-year contract,...

Jason Morgan returned to General Hospital on Monday, March 4, but Steve Burton says what fans saw onscreen wasn’t the original plan for his reprise. Burton first played Jason in Gh from 1991 to 2012, then again from 2017 to 2021. He was fired from the series for noncompliance with Covid-19 vaccine mandate on set, but he’s officially back as of March 4, 2024. The episode featured a bloody return for the beloved character, but Burton has revealed that there was a different story before a writers’ room change took place. Burton says it was an exciting change to the creative team behind the hit soap opera. “There was a head writer switch. So apparently there was a whole different story planned and then the head writer switch happened and then they kind of rebooted [the story],” Burton told Soap Opera Digest, referring to Elizabeth Korte’s promotion to co-head writer alongside newcomer Patrick Mulcahey. A first look was revealed, showing Jason with a bloodied hand standing near a dumpster. He was presumably at the warehouse where Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Selina (Lydia Look) met, and the preview video confirms that.

General Hospital announced the return of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) during the 60th anniversary special earlier this year.
It wasn’t a shock to viewers who have been following Steve’s career, as when he exited General Hospital in 2021, and Jason was presumed dead, he moved on to playing Harris Michaels on Peacock’s Days of our Lives.
The news of Jason’s return has been met with mixed reactions, as this is the third time he’s walked away from the show, only to come back again and again.
Before his return this last time, he left General Hospital to play Dylan McAvoy on CBS’ The Young and the Restless. Some viewers were disgusted that he walked away to a rival soap, and when he came back, Billy Miller (who was the nuJason) was shafted and made into the new (and unnecessary) character, Drew Cain.
This week, Jason is back in Port Charles.

Steve Burton is back as Jason Morgan on “General Hospital” beginning with the Monday, March 4 episode, but it looks like he has blood on his hands instead of rubble keeping him down.
In a first-look photo released by People, the outlet reveals that when Jason returns to the canvas, he’ll have been shot for the umpteenth time while wearing one of his signature black shirts and black leather gloves.
From what can be gathered, Jason is involved in a shootout that ends up with a bullet lodged in his lower left abdomen. Jason uses his right hand to assess his current situation as he leans on a dumpster for support. His ungloved hand is covered in blood.
So what causes Jason’s predicament? You’ll have to tune in to find out, but we think the Friday, March 1 episode will be particularly interesting to watch as things always have...

When Steve Burton left the role of General Hospital’s Jason Morgan in 2021 over the network’s Covid vaccine mandate, he was open to whatever came next. “One of the biggest lessons that anyone can learn, I feel, is control what you can control and let go of the things that you can’t,” he explains. “I don’t let a lot of external things dictate my emotional state. I’m just trying to be a better man, a better dad, just better.” As it turns out, Burton wasn’t unemployed long. After he exited Gh, Days of Our Lives, where he started his daytime career in 1988, reached out to him to play Harris Michaels again. “I do believe that when one door closes, other doors do open,” Burton offers. “And it was true. There’s been no shortage of buzz surrounding General Hospital lately. If the show isn’t making noise for its Daytime Emmy win for Outstanding Drama in December, then it’s drumming up excitement for the return of Steve Burton as Jason Morgan this year, as well as the return of Eden McCoy from a brief hiatus, and how it’s bringing on new showrunners to keep the drama hopping in Port Charles.
But the linear ratings tell a slightly different story, if not a depressing one — especially for those who are rooting for the survival of broadcast television. According to season-to-date ratings versus one year ago, Gh is down 9% among total viewers (2.2m vs. 2.4m) and down 9% in women 18+ (1.6m v. 1.8m).
The news isn’t much better over at CBS, which still remains the most watched network in daytime.

‘Freddy vs. Jason’ 20 Years Later – The Ultimate Horror Battle Still Satisfies After All These Years
I was somewhat of a late bloomer when it came to my exposure to horror. I lacked the cool older relative or friend that seems to serve as a customary gateway for many genre fans. I had seen a few horror movies growing up (Child’s Play and Scream each terrified me at different points in my youth), but seeing Freddy vs. Jason at the tender age of 15 is single-handedly responsible for the horror fandom that has consumed my life ever since. Without the movie — which hit theaters 20 years ago today — I very likely wouldn’t be writing for Bloody Disgusting now.
I knew of Freddy and Jason through pop culture osmosis, but I hadn’t seen any of the combined 17 films that comprised the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th franchises when Freddy vs. Jason piqued my interest. Even with the advent of Netflix’s DVDs by mail,...

From a young age, we’re told to show, not tell. Or show and tell, a concept that the second graders in “Space Oddity,” Kyra Sedgwick’s directorial debut, seem to grasp very well onscreen, unlike the script of this film.
“Space Oddity” stars Kyle Allen (“West Side Story”) as Alexander McAllister, a man preparing to leave Earth on Mission Mars, an esteemed space-age venture led by a wealthy private company.
No, not Elon Musk’s SpaceX program or Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic, both name-dropped in the film. Instead, Mission Mars is a vague concept that may or may not be a scam, and soon “Space Oddity” seems to hint that Alex is living in a “Truman Show”-esque delusional construct built from the trauma of surviving a car accident that killed his older brother, Tom. This isn’t helped by Alex’s Skype friendship with disgruntled suburban dad...

[Editor’s note: The following article contains slight spoilers for “Happiest Season.” This article was originally published on Monday, November 23, 2020.]
Complications, misadventures, and wild assumptions have long been the bread and butter of the romantic comedy. What’s romance without a sexy secret? What’s comedy without a big blunder? So while the plot that drives Clea DuVall’s holiday-themed sophomore feature “Happiest Season” falls neatly into the genre expectations of the rom-com, it also comes with a big twist: it’s about a same-sex couple. How’s that for a complication?
As “Happiest Season” opens, long-term couple Abby (Kristen Stewart) and Harper (Mackenzie Davis) are preparing to, somewhat unexpectedly, spend the holiday with Harper’s uptight, affluent family in suburban Pennsylvania. It’s Abby first time meeting the clan, which is currently in the throes of a political campaign poised to make their already straight-laced take on life even more, well, straight. You can probably guess the problem here:...
