General Hospital spoilers for next week’s episodes of the ABC soap tease that even though sweeps are over, the chaos has only just begun.

Sonny (Maurice Benard) has been front and center as the search for who is after him continues. Some clues have been given, but as of now, nothing concrete has been proven.

Things will pick up next week as Sonny’s family continues to worry about him. After the confrontation with John “Jagger” at the gym, Michael (Chad Duell) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) are even more concerned.

Meanwhile, things are coming together for Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) wedding. They worked through some things this week, and more stuff will likely pop up as the big day draws near.

Expect more relationship drama, too.

Steve Burton is back as Jason Morgan on “General Hospital” beginning with the Monday, March 4 episode, but it looks like he has blood on his hands instead of rubble keeping him down.

In a first-look photo released by People, the outlet reveals that when Jason returns to the canvas, he’ll have been shot for the umpteenth time while wearing one of his signature black shirts and black leather gloves.

From what can be gathered, Jason is involved in a shootout that ends up with a bullet lodged in his lower left abdomen. Jason uses his right hand to assess his current situation as he leans on a dumpster for support. His ungloved hand is covered in blood.

So what causes Jason’s predicament? You’ll have to tune in to find out, but we think the Friday, March 1 episode will be particularly interesting to watch as things always have...

During the new episode, the death of Olivia Jerome was announced. She was imprisoned in Pentonville Penitentiary after an arrest years ago at the time of her death.

In fact, Olivia, played by Tonja Walker) hasn’t appeared onscreen in years. Tonja‘s last credit on General Hospital was back in 2017.

There’s some speculation amongst fans that the murder was committed by Jason Morgan. We’ll have to keep an eye out and see if we learn more in the coming episodes.

It’s been a whirlwind month for General Hospital viewers who learned Steve Burton was reprising the role of Jason Morgan on the hit ABC soap.

His return was revealed during the Gh 60th anniversary special, and since then, there’s been chatter about when Steve would return to filming.

With February sweeps here, there was speculation Jason would be back in Port Charles to coincide with it. However, it’s unclear if that’s how everything will play out.

Steve revealed he wrapped his run on Days of our Lives late last year, and viewers immediately knew he would either return to General Hospital or end up back at The Young and the Restless.

And now that he’s confirmed his return as Stone Cold, the next bit of information viewers need is a return date.

So, when can we see Steve in his leather jacket as Jason Morgan?...

There’s been no shortage of buzz surrounding General Hospital lately. If the show isn’t making noise for its Daytime Emmy win for Outstanding Drama in December, then it’s drumming up excitement for the return of Steve Burton as Jason Morgan this year, as well as the return of Eden McCoy from a brief hiatus, and how it’s bringing on new showrunners to keep the drama hopping in Port Charles.

But the linear ratings tell a slightly different story, if not a depressing one — especially for those who are rooting for the survival of broadcast television. According to season-to-date ratings versus one year ago, Gh is down 9% among total viewers (2.2m vs. 2.4m) and down 9% in women 18+ (1.6m v. 1.8m).

The news isn’t much better over at CBS, which still remains the most watched network in daytime.

It has been several weeks since General Hospital viewers saw Eden McCoy as Josslyn Jacks.

The Daytime Emmy winner was temporarily recast with actress Courtney Faulk, but she has already returned to filming.

Eden took a leave of absence last fall after her mom’s death but didn’t elaborate on when she would return or even acknowledge the time off.

While Courtney has done an excellent job in the role, it’s not the same as it would have been if Eden had been there. She missed a few big things, including the memorial for Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman).

As the Esme (Avery Pohl) storyline picks up, General Hospital viewers are wondering when Eden will reprise the role of Josslyn.

His return to General Hospital isn’t the only big news the actor dropped this week. The famed soap star revealed he would leave Days of Our Lives just a day earlier.

Steve Burton will reprise his role in ‘General Hospital’

Steve Burton will leave Salem and return to Part Charles this year. Burton, who first appeared on General Hospital in 1991, will return to the soap opera for the first time since 2021. He is set to reprise his role as Jason Morgan, who was written out of the show with a tunnel collapse on Cassadine Island more than two years ago. Writers left the door open for Burton, and it looks like the presumed-dead Morgan will pop back up.

Steve Burton will return to “General Hospital” after having been fired in November 2021 because of his refusal to get the Covid vaccine. At the time, Burton was one of two actors on the long-running ABC soap opera who refused to be vaccinated; Ingo Rademacher was also fired.

Burton made the announcement of his return himself during an ABC primetime special Thursday night celebrating the show’s 60th anniversary.

“Happy anniversary, ‘General Hospital,'” Burton said as he walked through a doorway, flanked by cast members Laura Wright and Kelly Monaco. “Big things are coming to Port Charles.”

Steve Burton has a very special announcement to make.

CBS’ The Young and the Restless today paid tribute to the late Billy Miller, who from 2008-2014 filled the role of Billy Abbott — and earned no fewer that three Daytime Emmys along the way.

Thursday’s episode of the long-running daytime serial ended with a small, smile-filled “In Loving Memory” montage of Miller’s run as Billy, closing with a black-and-white still and “1979-2023.” (Watch the segment below.)
