With the arrival of the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, fans have begun theorizing about which of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes aren’t going to make it out of their battle with Thanos alive. For a while, it’s been assumed that at least a few of the founding Avengers would be facing their end in either this movie or its sequel, but a new comment from one of the franchise’s stars suggests that we can safely assume one character will survive through Avengers 4.
While speaking with Vanity Fair, Chris Hemsworth – the God of Thunder himself – praised the professionalism and talent of his young co-star Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man. In doing so, he made a reference to how he might “stick around” for future movies, saying the following:
“I’ve been hugely impressed by Tom Holland [Spider-Man] and the way he’s handled the transition. I didn’t...

As one of the founding members of the Avengers and a bona fide veteran of Marvel’s ever-evolving cinematic universe, Captain America and Chris Evans practically go hand-in-hand.
But it wasn’t always so easy for the creative minds at Marvel Studios. In fact, as Kevin Feige tells Vanity Fair, casting Steve Rogers was initially “super hard” circa 2010, when the McU was still in its infancy. Back then, Feige feared that the Marvel Cinematic Universe would collapse in on itself if the studio didn’t find the right actor to become the star-spangled patriot.
And though the company’s executives initially dismissed Chris Evans because of his history with the Fantastic Four franchise, it soon became clear that he was the only man for the job:
Casting Captain America was super hard. I started to think, ‘Are we not going to be able to find Captain America, and if we can’t,...

Our first look at Avengers: Infinity War arrived a week ago now, but it’s stuffed full of so many exciting, thrilling moments that fans are still unpacking it for new information about the much anticipated Marvel movie event. On top of teases of Loki’s storyline, several deaths and Thanos’ motivations, something else that may be hidden in the teaser is a hint at a new off-shoot of the main Avengers team.
As fans will remember, Captain America: Civil War saw Steve Rogers free his friends from the Raft underwater prison, with the promise that the heroes would lie low as fugitives. In the trailer for Infinity War, we got a glimpse at how Team Cap have stayed out of the limelight, with Steve now rocking a beard and operating as Nomad and Black Widow going blonde to remain incognito. The Avengers: Infinity War trailer has finally arrived. Fans have been dying to get their first look at the massive Marvel event movie ever since footage first debuted over the summer and the studio finally obliged. There's an awful lot to talk about in the trailer, as it's truly packed with major stuff, in terms of how it affects the McU. But fans seem to be obsessed with one element of the trailer above all else: Captain America's sweet new beard.
We've known since the first footage for Avengers: Infinity War was shown over the summer at both D23 and San Diego Comic-Con that Steve Rogers was going to be rocking a big beard in the movie, but it really took fans by surprise in the trailer. According to a report breaking down the talk surrounding the Infinity War trailer, Captain America's beard was mentioned a very impressive 20,000 times on Twitter.

If you had to guess, what would you think was the most buzz-worthy moment from the Avengers: Infinity War trailer? Spider-Man's slick new costume? Thor meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy? Thanos' menacing speech?
It turns out it was Steve Rogers forgetting to bring his razor when he went into hiding after the events of 2016's Captain America: Civil War.
Captain America's beard generated more than 20,000 mentions on Twitter in the first seven hours of the trailer's release, according to social media research firm Fizziology. To put that number in perspective, that's more than many trailers generate as a...

Remember Team Cap and Team Iron Man?
Back in 2016, those two super-groups clashed in spectacular fashion, and it seems the fallout from Marvel’s Civil War still casts a big, big shadow over the McU. Take the epic first teaser trailer for Avengers: Infinity War as an example.
Long before Thanos and the Black Order touched down on Earth, yesterday’s preview began with a somber callback to the Avengers Initiative, Nick Fury’s wildly ambitious masterplan that involved bringing together a group of remarkable people. It’s the one faint signal of hope amid all of the apocalyptic action, as the footage cuts to a bearded Captain America (Nomad, perhaps?) who quite literally steps out of the shadows.
On the other side of the planet, a visibly distressed Tony Stark is seen in the company of Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), and Benedict Wong (Wong), but the...

After months of waiting, Marvel has finally released the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War online. There's a lot to love about it and there's an insane amount of stuff going on. Virtually every Marvel hero is featured in the trailer, but there's one very noticeable absence. Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye doesn't show up for a single second of the trailer. So that raises the question, where is Hawkeye at during Avengers: Infinity War?
Let's start with what we know. At the end of Captain America: Civil War, Clint Barton was locked up with the rest of Cap's team in prison, following their fight with Iron Man and his gang of heroes. Though, at the very end of the movie, it looks as though Steve Rogers has come to bust them out. As for what happens after that? It's important, because that could explain why we don't see Hawkeye at...

The long-awaited trailer for Avengers: Infinity War is finally here and Marvel fans are freaking out, freeze framing every second of the clip, trying to discover any new information in the two and half-minute sneak peek. Luckily, we've got some of the best images taken from the Infinity War trailer and they reveal the Iron Spider suit for the first time as well as Hulkbuster, our first real look at Nomad, and most importantly: Thanos in all of his glory, already sporting some Infinity Stones on the Gauntlet. Don't worry, some of the pictures might be just as cool as that missing footage of the Mad Titan throwing pieces of the moon at the Avengers, from footage that was shown over the summer but is suspiciously absent here.

After months and months of waiting, the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War is finally here!
The world at large has been expecting to see some footage from the movie ever since a special presentation was played for the crowd at this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con. However, that particular trailer never dropped online (at least, not in any official capacity). Eventually, reports started appearing that pointed to the first bit of footage arriving in December, but some tongue-in-cheek posts on the Russo brothers’ Instagram account revealed that it would actually be here towards the end of November and now, here we are, with our hands finally on this absolutely epic preview.

While we await the release of the first trailer for next year’s Marvel extravaganza, Avengers: Infinity War, one fan has decided to create their own effort. The twist is that this trailer teases the upcoming movie in the style of Justice League‘s promotional campaign. In particular, it apes what we saw with the final preview for DC’s team-up film, including the use of the cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes,” – which, as you can imagine, works equally as well for the Avengers as it does the League.
The trailer draws some fun comparisons between the shared universes, too. A nice touch is swapping the Justice League trailer opening at the Kent farm for Clint Barton’s rustic family home from Age of Ultron. Likewise, it reminds us that the main plots of The Avengers and Justice League are basically the same. As Tony Stark says, both revolve...

Even though those lucky enough to attend San Diego Comic-Con back in July got to watch a special presentation of the movie, the rest of the world has yet to see an official trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. After months of waiting, though, it’s expected that the first teaser will arrive very soon. And thanks to directors the Russo brothers, we might now know exactly when.
Earlier today, Joe and Anthony Russo posted a peculiar image on their Instagram account: an anthropomorphic number three. Maybe the brothers were just feeling a bit eccentric this morning, but it’s likely that this is a deliberate tease about when we can expect the first Infinity War trailer.
So, what 3 is the image referring to, then? Well, it could be 3 more days until that first bit of footage arrives, but there’s another possibility as well. Some fans believe that the 3 is referencing December 3rd.

Can we consider, for a moment, the concept of patience? Perhaps lend some thought to the idea that the only thing to be gained from leaked trailers and images of highly anticipated films is more frustration? These are the questions that spring to mind as we wrestle with the fact that some new screenshots from the Avengers: Infinity War trailer have leaked online today (no doubt pulled from that footage we saw earlier) and they give us our best look yet at Captain America’s new beard.
Now, here’s the thing. Cap dispensing with shaving is not a revelation, in and of itself. We’ve known about his hirsute appearance for several months, thanks to both footage seen by fans attending San Diego Comic-Con, and also concept art already released into the public forum. It certainly is an interesting choice for the character though, and leads to understandable speculation...

Now, it’s up to the super soldier to assemble a new group of Howling Commandos to help him battle for this freedom.
“Everybody thought it couldn’t happen again—but it has!” teased Svp and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. “Once more, Cap is a man out of time—but the new era he finds himself in is fraught with perils, personal hardships, and challenges unlike anything the shield-slinger has ever experienced before. Steve Rogers has always been known as the man out of time (and rightly so), but it looks like Marvel’s star-spangled patriot will be paying a visit to post-war America when Avengers 4 rolls around in 2018.
Filming on the Joe and Anthony Russo sequel has been taking place in Atlanta, which has fast become a hub for all things Marvel Studios, given the city recently hosted Ant-Man and the Wasp – incidentally, Captain Marvel is expected to swoop into production early next year there as well, when it’s believed that a number of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will cross over into Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s nascent spinoff.
The jury’s still out on that one, mind you, but we’re now learning that Avengers 4 may feature another flashback – this time, it’ll be all about Steve Rogers, as he returns home from the front lines of World War II.

Captain America #695 is everything this new Marvel Legacy relaunch should be modeling itself after. First and foremost it is a great issue that encapsulates everything that is great about the character of Steve Rogers. For those who would argue a character of his ilk is no longer necessary in the cynical culture we find ourselves they have this comic to point to as a demonstration of why a character of Captain America’s moral code is more vital than ever.
Since Captain America utter those now famous words, “Hail Hydra!”, this moment has been building. A movement away from the Hydra Cap and a return of the Steve Rogers many of us know and love. For once that build up had a payoff worthy of its occasion. It helps when you have an all-star team like Mark Waid...

A new piece of promo art has surfaced for Avengers: Infinity War and it offers us a new look at a few of our favorite heroes sporting their new costumes. Some of those characters include Iron Man, Star-Lord, Captain America, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Black Widow.
We've seen most of their costumes teased before in the first promo art released at Comic-Con earlier this year. This new art gives us a fuller look at some of the costumes and even offers us our first look at Black Widow's new outfit, which wasn't shown in the previous poster.
As you can see, Black Widow is sporting a black and green suit this time around, and she's got Blonde hair. Steve Rogers has his sleeves rolled up, and Spider-Man is wearing the Iron-Spider armor that Tony Stark gave revealed at the end of Homecoming.
The art was shared online by reddit user /u/iAMA_Leb_AMA.

Marvel's highly-anticipated Avengers 4 continues production in Atlanta, with the latest set photos revealing that Thor's long hair is now back, after the events of Thor: Ragnarok. Earlier today, though, star Robert Downey Jr. sent out a new photo on Instagram, from a local Atlanta theater where the star and several of his Avengers co-stars are putting on a one-night-only production of the iconic play Our Town. Robert Downey Jr. himself will be starring in this production, along with Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson and a host of unnamed local actors, but perhaps the biggest surprise in this photo is that it also features Frank Grillo, which could mean the actor is bringing his Crossbones character back from the dead.
Frank Grillo only appeared in two McU movies as Brock Rumlow, a.k.a. Crossbones, but he certainly did make an impact with the scenes he was given. We last saw...

Marking its 24th year, the Austin Film Festival closed Nov. 2 after screening more than 150 of this year’s buzziest films. Marvel fans have been looking forward to the release of Thor: Ragnarok for a long time. Not only because the movie looked, and turned out to be, another great entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but because it seemed very likely that the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War would debut alongside it. That wasn't the case and now fans are demanding it. So, directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo have taken it upon themselves to address that demand in a not-so-serious way by teasing fans with an Orson Welles commercial, of all things.
The Russo brothers took to their Instagram to address why Marvel hasn't yet released the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, even though it's been shown at both San Diego Comic-Con and Disney's D23 Expo over the summer. How'd they choose to address it? By posting an infamous Orson Welles wine commercial that is absolutely ridiculous, but...

Margot Robbie goes full-on crazy in this new entertaining red-band trailer for her Tanya Harding biopic I, Tanya. This character almost seems more insane and unstable than Robbie's version of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad! The film was inspired by the true story of Tanya Harding's ungraceful rise to the Olympics and fall. As you'll see, it's told in the style of a dark comedy and it looks like a really great movie!

A late entry into this year’s awards season, Craig Gillespie’s Tonya Harding biopic I, Tonya, starring Margot Robbie and Allison Janney, earned rave reviews out of its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and now it’ll arrive in just over a month. After a brief teaser, the full red band trailer has now hit the ice, courtesy of Neon.
“Having proven time and time again that she is more than worthy and capable of supporting a feature on her own. I, Tonya (finally) grants Margot Robbie the opportunity to delve headfirst into a role that not only offers top billing, but showcases the emotional complexity and riotous charisma we all know she possesses; with the narrative chutzpah to back it up,” we said in our review. “For Craig Gillespie, I, Tonya represents a similar vindication, giving credence to the director’s budding gift first demonstrated in...

Joe Russo and Anthony Russo (Captain America: Civil War) are currently filming Avengers 4 in Atlanta, Georgia, which is set to close out Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Avengers: Infinity War not coming out until next year, it's raised a lot of questions about the fourth Avengers movie. Like, who will be in it? Odds are, at least one major character is going to meet their demise at the hands of Thanos. But now, thanks to Robert Downey Jr., we know at least four major characters who are going to be back for Avengers 4.
Robert Downey Jr., who only recently confirmed his own involvement in Avengers 4, took to Instagram to share a photo of his fancy new chair that he'll be using on set. It just so happens that there are three other chairs in the background, confirming that Paul Rudd will return as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Scarlett Johansson...

It’s hard to believe, but we’re approaching ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Where has the time gone? With Avengers: Infinity War set to round the first decade off in May 2018, it’s easy to forget where things started. The next superhero team-up will arrive ten years after Iron Man raised the curtain and those humble origins almost feel like ancient history now. No one could truly have foreseen the phenomenal success that would follow, and Marvel Studios clearly aren’t done yet. The future slate looks as exciting as ever, as new characters are constantly being added from the immense Marvel roster and the possibilities for where things can go from here are virtually endless.
On the face of it, the continued success is attributable to numerous factors. Most important of these, however, is the huge cast that’s now been amassed – what’s not to like about that?...

Often, what you see on a screen when it comes to Hollywood blockbusters is not at all what the initial footage looked like. Whether it’s CGI, practical effects, models, costumes, make-up or any of the other numerous tactics employed to create movie magic, the finished product is almost always enhanced in some manner, especially when it comes to big budget films.
Thankfully, nearly every major blockbuster has its production recorded and documented by photographers and over the years, some truly incredible, exciting and often hilarious behind the scenes photos have made their way online. Just a few short hours ago, the precursor season kicked off this morning for 2017 with the nominations for the 27th annual Ifp Gotham Independent Film Awards. Yes, we’ve reached that point in the year. Precursors will begin trickling in, starting to establish early frontrunners. Leading off is the Ifp Gotham Independent Film Awards, which will give us an idea of which indies are contenders, as opposed to just pretenders. This won’t be the last word on them, by any stretch, but it is the first word, and that’s something to take note of. Gotham is beginning a run that will ultimately end up at the Academy Awards in March. As you’ll see below, Get Out led the field with four nominations, followed by Call Me By Your Name, Columbus, The Florida Project, and Lady Bird with three apiece. There was also Good Time, I, Tonya, and Mudbound among multiple nominees,...

One of the most shameful moments in Olympic history is becoming a feature film. Neon has just released the first teaser for I, Tonya, featuring Margot Robbie as Tonya Harding.
If you're unfamiliar with the name, let me tell you about disgraced Olympic competitor Tonya Harding. In the 90s, she was one of the most prominent young figure skaters on the Us team. She was the first American women to ever complete one of the hardest moves in figure skating, at the time, the Triple Axel. Harding was even projected to win a Gold medal at the upcoming Winter Olympics. Everything was going her way, until January 1994 when her ex-husband had the crazy idea to put a hit on Harding's rival, Nancy Kerrigan.
This unbelievable, shameful blemish in Olympic history is getting the Hollywood treatment. Here is the first teaser for I, Tonya, featuring Margot Robbie as Tonya Harding and...

Margot Robbie hits the ice in the first teaser trailer for her upcoming Tonya Harding biopic I, Tanya. It's a solid first look at the film that does a great job of setting the tone for the story. The movie is told in the style of a dark comedy, which is kind of the perfect way to tell this really strange and scandalous true story.
The movie was directed by Craig Gillespie (Million Dollar Arm, Fright Night, The Finest Hours) and it also stars Allison Janney, Paul Walter Hauser, Julianne Nicholson, Caitlin Carver, Bojana Novakovic, and Bobby Cannavale. Here's the synopsis:

While a good amount of films come to the fall festival season with distribution and a release date already in tow, there’s the chance some could ignite such acclaim that they pick up both in a matter of days or weeks and we see them sooner than imagined. Folks, it’s that time again. No, not the start of fall, though here on the east coast we’ve finally got some chilly weather. Yes, today I’m continuing on down the line with the last of the big eight categories and finishing off with the other writing one…yes, Best Original Screenplay. It’s the final one of the big eight categories today, but not the final installment of this series overall, as I’ll continue on in the weeks to come with a few more, at the very least tackling Best Documentary Feature and perhaps even another category like Best Foreign Language Feature when that sort of race begins to make more sense. In the meantime though, it’s Original Screenplay time here, so let’s get started! Best Adapted Screenplay and the candidates there got their due last week, so this week, you know what that means…...

One of the recurring foes of the Captain America movies is Brock Rumlow. Initially introduced as a corrupt Strike agent in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Rumlow ended the film horribly disfigured. Fast forward to Captain America: Civil War and he was now operating as costumed supervillain Crossbones, intent on revenge. However, he swiftly met his end at the hands of his own bomb when fighting the Avengers.
Or did he? While chatting with Syfy Wire at New York Comic-Con, Frank Grillo made it clear that he would love to return to the McU to play Crossbones again at some point. As for how Rumlow could survive a bomb blast, Grillo reminded us that anything can happen in a comic book movie universe:

Can we consider, for a moment, the concept of patience? Perhaps lend some thought to the idea that the only thing to be gained from ‘leaked’ trailers and images of highly anticipated movies is more frustration? These are the questions that spring to mind as we wrestle with the fact that an image has surfaced online that appears to be from Avengers: Infinity War – and it’s a picture of a bearded Captain America.
Now, here’s the thing. Cap dispensing with shaving is not a revelation, in and of itself. We’ve known about his hirsute appearance for several months, thanks to both footage seen by fans attending San Diego Comic Con, and also concept art already released into the public forum. It certainly is an interesting choice for the character though, and leads to understandable speculation about the emotional state he’ll be in when Avengers: Infinity War begins.

Before he was cast as Sakaar’s gleefully eccentric Grandmaster, Jeff Goldblum was approached about a totally different role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

But had things panned out differently, ol’ Jeff Goldblum would have been drafted into the McU long before the God of Thunder touched down on Sakaar; in fact, the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom star came close to playing Senator Brandt in Captain America: The First Avenger.
If that name sounds familiar, it should; Brandt was the one responsible for recruiting the young Steve Rogers in the first place, and later transformed Chris Evans’ character into the star-spangled hero we know and love. Comic book fans might think the idea of playing a Marvel superhero sounds like the greatest thing in the world, but the reality is that portraying a role of that magnitude and global recognition comes with a lot of drawbacks and extra responsibility. It’s not for nothing that Chris Evans famously turned down the part of Captain America twice before eventually picking up Steve Rogers’ shield.
It turns out the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ever-growing roster of heroes also had a huge dilemma on her hands when offered the part. Brie Larson was first revealed to be playing Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel last summer, but the actress spent a long time before that ruminating over whether accepting the role was the right thing to do. Eventually, though, she decided that this wasn’t an opportunity she could pass up.

That’s all about to change, though, in his latest solo series.

Last year, Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo revealed that this movie marked a new beginning for the McU, hinting that it, and the untitled Avengers 4, will bring the culmination of everything that has happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. While no specifics were given about the story, this notion was mirrored by star Benedict Cumberbatch, who teased how massive this adventure is during a recent interview. Here's what he had to say about how all-encompassing this sequel actually is.
"It's ten years coming. It's just a huge, huge, huge amount of work, huge amount of storylines and it's all sort of pointing to this confrontation. It's amazing to part of it even though I'm late to the party, it's very cool one to be part of it."
The actor made these comments during a new interview with Digital Spy, where he was promoting his new film The Child in Time.

Although Secret Empire technically concluded last month with its tenth issue, a few threads were left dangling. Luckily for us though, an epilogue of sorts has arrived in the form of Secret Empire: Omega #1. In addition to hinting that Black Widow may very well be still alive, writer Nick Spencer continued laying the groundwork for the next year or so of Marvel storytelling by teasing what lies ahead for the Punisher.
Still, it’s hard to argue that the main drawing point was that of the confrontation involving the two Steve Rogers, one being the former leader of Hydra who now finds himself imprisoned for his attempted takeover, and the other being the classic Captain America we know and love. Having been recently manifested thanks to the living Cosmic Cube, Kobik, the latter has reemerged as the Sentinel of Liberty that readers are familiar with.
