Annie Award nominee Andy Schuhler has been working in the animation industry for more than 25 years. Schuhler's most recent works include Fantasy Sequence Designer on the Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated film The Boss Baby, and Art Director on its sequel, The Boss Baby: Family Business. Schuhler's cutting-edge technical achievements in The Boss Baby franchise set him apart in the industry.
Andy created the first-look and art direction on the Dreamworks short film, Marooned, where he developed his own advanced digi-matte painting workflows. Translating this new pipeline into Andy's art direction of Boss Baby: Family Business and then his transition into the role of Production Designer on the Dreamworks short film Precious Templeton: A Pony Tale.
Prior to joining Dreamworks Animation in 2007, Schuhler began his career as an animator on the iconic cult classic, The Iron Giant. He put his mark on the visually stunning Coraline with Visual Development, Character Design, and Story. His television work includes writing and story for Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and The Simpsons. Andy shared his talent as a professor at CalArts teaching Character Animation.
He is a graduate of CalArts Character Animation/Film Video and Computer Graphics Technology at Purdue University. Andy lives with his family in Los Angeles.
