- TriviaDubbed Tom Cruise since the eighties. Due to other obligations he couldn't dub him in Eyes Wide Shut (1999), so Stanley Kubrick, who is known to choose dubbing actors for his stars, chose Patrick Winczewski. Since then Tom Cruise insists on Patrick Winczewski as his dubbing voice even though Stephan Schwartz is much closer to Cruise's real voice. In an interview in a German show Stephan Schwartz was asked if Cruise's Scientology connections could be the reason why he didn't dub him anymore. Kiddingly he said something like "Yes, of course" but got taken seriously. That's how the rumor about Schwartz giving up Cruise because of his Scientology connections arose. A rumor taken seriously among most German dubbing fans.
