Andrés Segovia was born on February 21, 1893 in Linares, Spain. He is known for Labor Day (2013), Heavy Metal (1981) and Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008). He was married to Emilia Corral Sancho, Adelaida Portillo and Paquita Burrow. He died on June 3, 1987 in Madrid, Spain.
The musician most responsible for making the guitar an accepted
instrument in the concert hall, he is widely considered the greatest
classical guitarist of the twentieth century.
Taught guitar at Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena. One of his notable students was John Williams, who also became one of the world's leading classical guitarists.
