Shakeela
Shakeela Khan, a.k.a. Shakeela, is a female actor and politician known for appearing in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada language films.

Shakeela entered the film industry in 1989 with Shibu Mitra's Aakhri Ghulam (1989), starring Mithun Chakraborty, Sonam, and Anupam Kher. Before playing the lead role with Silk Smitha in the movie Play Girls (1995), she acted in films like Machalti Kaliyaan (1990), Pyar Ki Masti (1991), Taakre Jattan De (1991), and Jawani Ki Khusboo (1994).

From the beginning of her career, Shakeela has acted in B-grade movies, but her role as Dakshayani in R.J. Prasad's Kinnara Thumbikal (2000) made her the talk of the town.

Besides acting in mainstream movies like Thirunelliyile Penkutty (2001), Driving School (2002), Miss Suvarna (2002), Nijam (2003), Jai (2004), and Boss Engira Baskaran (2010), she has also appeared as a contestant and guest on many television shows.

Shakeela appeared as a contestant in Bigg Boss Kannada (2013) and Cooku with Comali (2019). She was also declared the winner of the reality TV show Start Music (Season 2) (2021) on Star Vijay. Shakeela has also worked in Pottu (2019) and Kanni Raasi (2020).

In October 2013, Shakeela published her 242-page autobiography, Shakeela: Aatmakatha, in Malayalam. In 2020, Indrajit Lankesh directed a film named Shakeela Shakeela (2020) based on the life and works of Shakeela. The lead roles in the movie were played by Pankaj Tripathi, Richa Chadha, and Rajeev Pillai.
