Travis Kelce says it was a "dream come true" working alongside Adam Sandler in 'Happy Gilmore 2'. The 35-year-old American football star - who is dating pop megastar Taylor Swift - has an undisclosed role in the forthcoming film, which will see Sandler reprise his role as the titular character. NFL legend Travis, who plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, admitted he has "a few" scenes in the movie, and insisted the experience was "off the chain". Speaking on 'The Pat McAfee Show', he said: "That was a dream come true."I thought 'SNL' was going to be the peak of my acting and showman or entertainment career. "Working with Happy Gilmore himself, the Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain."Kelce found Sandler to be "every bit as cool off the screen as he is on the screen" during the filming process.

On a recent episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” Travis Kelce discussed how exciting it was to work with comedy legend Adam Sandler. Kelce will appear alongside Sandler in Netflix’s “Happy Gilmore 2,” which is set for a 2025 release. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is cast in a currently undisclosed role; in a recently released teaser, he appears to play some sort of country club employee.
“That was a dream come true,” Kelce said, “I thought ‘SNL’ was going to be the peak of my acting and showman or entertainment career. Working with Happy Gilmore himself, the Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain.”
While he is by no means top-billed, Kelce said he has “a few” scenes in the film, and that shooting for “Happy Gilmore 2” was “a hefty load” of work.
“They’re so professional and yet so fun to work with,” Kelce added.

A calm mind is as beautiful as a clear lake; it shows the true depth of one’s capabilities. Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore teaches the same lesson, albeit with more laughs and snorts. The actor’s own career mirrors that teaching, from his humble beginnings to the comedy giant he is today.
Happy Gilmore had a big role in showcasing his raw talent (along with Billy Madison), slinging him across the far side of stardom. And it seems like he’s not done yet, as he’s about to return with Happy Gilmore 2.

According to Nick Swardson, Michael Winslow had an ego that was even more bloated than the full Police Academy filmography.
When a stand-up comedian makes the jump from stage to screen, it signifies a massive moment of mainstream breakthrough for an artist accustomed to slumming it at road gigs and open mics for most of their career. By starring in a hit film, a stand-up comedian can go from an almost unknown touring act to a headliner at any comedy club in the country, and, much like a deep-sea diver coming up for air too fast, the swift ascent can do strange things to their brains.
As Swardson claimed during a recent episode of the 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast, when Police Academy, Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment, Police Academy 3: Back in Training, Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol, Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach, Police Academy 6: Under Siege,...

What the heck is Make Joke From Face — besides the name of Nick Swardson’s new stand-up special on YouTube?
“It’s just an idiotic thing that me and my friend Chris would always say,” Swardson tells me. “My running thing with my specials is I don’t take them seriously in terms of naming them. My first hour special was called Seriously, Who Farted? The network was like, ‘Oh, that’s funny. But seriously, what are you going to call it?’”
Swardson’s the kind of comic who wants to get nominated for an award — Oscar or Razzie, it doesn’t matter — just so someone could stand at a podium, read a list of nominees and then conclude with “Seriously, Who Farted?”
“Comedy should just be absurd,” Swardson says. “It’s silly. I feel like people forget that.”

According to regular Adam Sandler co-star Nick Swardson, getting a role in one of the Sandman’s movies is roughly equivalent to him calling you up to join a game of pick-up basketball. (Sandler might do that too.) Take, for example, the time Swardson was cast in Just Go With It alongside Jennifer Aniston.
“Sandler called me, I remember exactly where I was,” Swardson told David Spade and Dana Carvey on their Fly on the Wall podcast. “I was at Baby Blues BBQ in Venice, and Sandler calls me and he goes, ‘Hey, what are you doing?’ And I go, ‘I’m having dinner. Why? What’s up?’ And he goes, ‘Can you do a German accent?’ And I go, ‘What? Like this?’”
Here Swardson said something unintelligible in Germanic gibberish.
“And (Sandler) goes, ‘Okay, perfect. Call you tomorrow.’”
The next day, Sandler called back as promised. “We’re doing a movie in Hawaii.

Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider have worked together on movies since the start of their careers. Rob Schneider often plays a supporting role in Sandler's films, even if it's just a momentary cameo Sandler's unique blend of humor and relatable characters have made him a household name in the world of comedy, but the critics don't always click with his humor.
Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider's friendship has seen them work on plenty of movies together, with decidedly mixed results. Like Kevin James and David Spade, Schneider has appeared in many of Sandler's biggest movies. Sandler has returned the favor by popping up in several movies led by Schneider over the years. No matter the movie, the two friends always seem to be able to find a role for one another.
Sandler and Schneider's style of comedy isn't for everyone, and even some of their most popular movies have been panned by critics.

Farmer Fran is a hilarious recurring character in Adam Sandler films, with his exaggerated Cajun accent and unintelligible advice. Blake Clark, a frequent Adam Sandler collaborator, has appeared in 13 of Sandler's movies, making him one of his most frequent collaborators. While Farmer Fran doesn't impact the plot, he adds humor and charm that makes viewers remember him long after the movie ends.
Farmer Fran is a hilarious side character in Adam Sandler's The Waterboy and viewers may recognize the actor from similar parts he's played. Adam Sandler is well known for casting his friends in his movies, and it's always fun to wait and see when Kevin James is going to appear or if Nick Swardson will have a cameo. Sandler's older films can be bittersweet for this same fact when the late Chris Farley or Norm Macdonald comes on the screen. This "acting-troupe" style of filmmaking makes Sandler's films...

It doesn’t always take a lot for a comedian to get canceled – sometimes it’s deserving and other times the result of the overly PC, but whatever the reason, they often have a lot of work to do to get back in the graces of the general public. So what’s the best approach to get there? Social media apologies? Tucking away in the coat closet until it tides over? How about saying screw it and doubling down? That’s the approach of Nick Swardson, and he knows a few things about getting canceled – well, his shows, at least…

Omg, it's finally happened.
Adam Sandler fans are getting a Happy Gilmore 2, nearly 30 years in the making.
The sequel of the 1996 hit comedy is a dual project between Netflix and Happy Madison Productions, Sandler's company.
Sandler hooked a generation of viewers with his crass, blue-collar character infiltrating one of the most white-collar sports.
With his anger management issues and working-class mannerisms, we felt like he was one of us. And we couldn't help but root for him to win.
Happy Gilmore couldn't cut it as a hockey player, but it turned out he was hellah good at golf -- with a custom hockey stick golf club.
And fans loved him, turning golf into a spectator sport that drew all the wrong crowds.
At least, that's how Shooter McGavin -- played by Christopher McDonald -- felt. He tried so hard to earn that gold jacket, only to lose it to a scuzzy amateur golfer wannabe.

A lot of stand-up comedians have bad nights, but only a select few get leaked to mainstream media and prove to be TMZ fodder. But that’s just what happened to Nick Swardson at a recent gig, showing up on stage inebriated to the point that he couldn’t go on with his act and was escorted off stage.
In clips that surfaced online, Nick Swardson is seen repeatedly saying, “Here we go” and referring to Jason Statham in The Beekeeper, teasing an impression that never quite materialized in the way Swardson probably intended. This was quickly greeted with boos and walk-outs. At one point he asks, “Do you want me to finish this or no?” Tickets buyers did not, to which Swardson sloppily responded, “But what if… I finish this?” He was not allowed to finish his set, being taken off stage around 20 minutes in. At this point, a stage manager told the crowd,...

Comic Nick Swardson is following up a disastrous performance in Colorado with a promise to “make it up” to the town where he was escorted from the stage 20 minutes into his stand-up set.
On Sunday at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, an admittedly inebriated Swardson, 47, was removed from the stage to the sounds of an angry crowd booing him after he stammered through what appeared to be a nonsensical opening during his headlining appearance. On Tuesday, the Grandma’s Boy actor issued a statement about the incident.
“Just casually woke up on TMZ,” he wrote on X, referencing the news website’s article about the tanked performance. “Travel tip: don’t drink and take edibles in high altitude. F—ing brain diarrhea. I’ll make it up to you Beaver Creek!”

Rob Schneider's absence from Grown Ups 2 was due to a combination of availability and financial issues, as he was focusing on his sitcom and stand-up career at the time. Rumors of a falling out between Schneider and Adam Sandler were debunked, as they have continued to work together in subsequent movies, including The Ridiculous 6 and Sandy Wexler. Despite Schneider's absence, Grown Ups 2 performed similarly to its predecessor in terms of box office sales and critics' reviews, suggesting that his departure may not have significantly impacted the franchise. However, his character would be welcomed back in a potential Grown Ups 3.
Adam Sandler's Grown Ups 2 brought back the star-studded cast of the original, but Rob Schneider's Grown Ups 2 absence was noticeable. Schneider is well known for his many, many collaborations with Adam Sandler. After starring on Saturday Night Live at the same time, the pair first worked...

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Leo.
Leo and Squirtle's new classroom may not be a better deal than their 5th-grade classroom as the younger and wilder kids pose a potential risk to their safety. The 5th-grade class treated Leo and Squirtle well because they could talk and reason with them, but in their new class, the situation will be different. While Ms. Malkin knows they can talk, there is no guarantee that she will look out for Leo and Squirtle, given her multiple changes of heart. Getting moved to an older classroom would be the best-case scenario for them.

It’s a cool indie weekend when the new album by André 3000, New Blue Sun, has morphed into a “cinematic listening experience.” Variance Films is putting the experience, directed by Terence Nance, into three theaters in NYC (IFC Center), LA (Cinepolis Inglewood) and Atlanta (Tara).

For a movie that's mostly about how friendships are forever, the 2010 Adam Sandler comedy "Grown Ups" may have had fans wondering about a conspicuously missing face from the sequel. For much of Sandler's career on the big screen, he's been joined by longtime friend and collaborator Rob Schneider. Starting with 1998's "The Waterboy," the two actors have appeared in well over a dozen movies together, from the likes of "Mr. Deeds" and "The Longest Yard" to even an animated movie like "Eight Crazy Nights." Contrary to recent rumors, the bond still seems to be going strong as the two ended up joining forces again in 2017's "Sandy Wexler" and once more in "Hubie Halloween" three years ago. But that hasn't stopped fans from wondering why, after such a prominent role in "Grown Ups," Schneider didn't return for another go-around in "Grown Ups 2."

If you’ve ever wanted to see Adam Sandler play a septuagenarian talking lizard, then Netflix’s new Leo trailer is for you. Check out the preview of the animated musical comedy ahead of its November 21st release date below.
In the film, Sandler stars as the titular 74-year-old lizard, who has shared a terrarium with a turtle named Squirtle (Bill Burr) in the same Florida classroom for decades. After learning he only has a year left to live, the jaded pet plots an escape to the outside world, but ends up bonding with the students in this year’s class instead after they find out he can talk. “This is a tough time, but these are the best years,” he tells one student.
Leo was directed by Robert Marianetti, David Wachtenheim, and Saturday Night Live alum Robert Smigel, the latter of whom co-wrote the movie with Sandler and Paul Sado.

Netflix animated “Leo” stars Adam Sandler as an elderly lizard living in a Florida classroom who decides to escape after being told he only has one year to live.

Adam Sandler long ago perfected the art of working with his friends. So what’s next? Now, he’s taking that same approach of working with people he already knows and loves to generate a platform, through his Happy Madison production shingle and streaming giant Netflix, for his own daughters Sunny and Sadie Sandler to shine.
Is it still nepotism if it’s this blatant? Probably — but in an added twist, Sandler’s choice to bolster his daughters comes with a pleasant surprise: it works, and well.
Directed by Sammi Cohen, this new entry in the Sandler-family-business model, “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” is an endearing take on the coming-of-age tween film, with a heavy dose of religion — in the best way. Sunny Sandler stars as Stacy, a sweet 13-year-old who dreams of a blow-out bash bat mitzvah, one heavy on the New York City influences and Lmfao bangers,...

Let’s clarify that…Adam Sandler isn’t a lizard. Rather, Sandler voices a lizard with big dreams of escaping his ordinary life as a classroom pet in the animated musical comedy Leo.
Bill Burr provides the voice of Leo’s turtle sidekick. The voice cast also includes Cecily Strong, Jason Alexander, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Rob Schneider, and Jo Koy. Jackie Sandler, Heidi Gardner, Robert Smigel, Nick Swardson, Stephanie Hsu, and Nicholas Turturro also lend their voices to the family-friendly film.
Robert Marianetti, Robert Smigel, and David Wachtenheim directed from a screenplay by Smigel, Adam Sandler, and Paul Sado. Geoff Zanelli composed the original score.
Netflix has set a November 21, 2023 premiere date.

Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming animated movie musical Leo, which sees the actor and comedian re-teaming with his daughters Sadie and Sunny in a film about an aging class pet who discovers he has just one year left to live.
Produced by Happy Madison and directed by Robert Marianetti, Robert Smigel and David Wachtenheim, Leo follows Sandler’s 74-year-old lizard who learns he doesn’t have much time left. As his Florida elementary school students prepare for their last year, Leo follows suit, deciding that his last year will be spent differently than his previous decades with terrarium-mate turtle (Bill Burr).
“I got a feeling this year’s gonna be different,” Leo says in the nearly minute-and-a-half first look. “Something big is going to happen.”
Despite devising a (successful) plan to escape the fictional Fort Myers Elementary School in Florida and carry out a bucket list...
