Walther Süssenguth joined the film business in 1934 and he impersonated numerous support roles in some big productions.
He was also busy as a dubbing actor for famous Hollywood stars like Orson Welles, John McIntire, Spencer Tracy, Maurice Chevalier, George Sanders, Lon Chaney and Herbert Marshall.
He also realised some plays as a director.

After an education at the conservatory in Dresden Walther Süssenguth began his stage career in 1919 in Gera. It followed other engagements in Lübeck, Erfurt, Hannover, Frankfurt and Hamburg. Finally he went to Berlin where he appeared at different theaters.
He continued his film career successfully after World War II, besides feature movies he also took part in TV productions.
Besides his activity as an actor Walther Süssenguth also shot some movies as a director like "Die Ratten" (1957) and "Der Mann unterm Bett" (1964) and he wrote the screenplay for "Der Mann, der seinen Namen änderte" (58), "Der Mann unterm Bett" (1964), "Der Diamant des Herrn Blomdal" (1964) and "Der Fall Pinneberg" (1964).
