Skeleton Crew episode 8 solidifies the show as one of Star Wars' best, wrapping up the endearing story with ease. Since the show began, I have made it clear how easy the show is to enjoy. Not only is Skeleton Crew's cast of characters fleshed out, but the show understands that it does not need to be galaxy-altering to be a worthy addition to Star Wars canon. As of the Skeleton Crew episode 8's ending, this reality is more prevalent than ever thanks to the excellent conclusion of a mostly self-contained story.
Skeleton Crew follows four ordinary children who become lost in the expansive Star Wars galaxy. As they navigate unfamiliar worlds and the challenges they present, the group endeavors to find their way back to their home planet, undertaking a journey across the iconic Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 7, “We’re Gonna Be In So Much Trouble,” ended with quite the cliffhanger.
The kid gloves are off as Jod Na Nawood has let the full pirate out. Capturing the children, he figures out that the Onyx Cinder is the key to getting through the Barrier around At Attin. Sneaking into the ship and taking over after decapitating Sm-33, he pretends to be a Republic Emissary upon landing on the planet. The group is taken underground, where they see the Old Republic Mint still active, and Jod finds over 1,000 vaults full of credits. He has his treasure. Wim, Fern, Neel, and Kb’s parents follow them down, and the kids are finally reunited with their loved ones. However, it’s short-lived as Jod menacingly approaches the families, igniting his lightsaber. What will happen to our heroes?
We have to watch to the season finale to find out.

Like many Star Trek: Deep Space Nine characters, Major Kira Nerys (Nana Visitor) underwent a complex character evolution throughout DS9's seven seasons. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's First Officer was originally supposed to be Star Trek: The Next Generation's Ensign Ro Laren (Michelle Forbes), but when Forbes declined to return as Ensign Ro, DS9 created Major Kira instead. Unlike Ro Laren's Starfleet-adjacent point of view in Tng, Kira's backstory in the Bajoran Resistance placed her closer to the front lines of the conflict between the Bajorans and their Cardassian oppressors.
Born in 2343 in Bajor's Dahkur Province, Kira Nerys grew up in a refugee camp with her parents, Kira Taban and Meru; and her brothers, Reon and Pohl. When Nerys was three years old, her mother was taken to be a comfort woman for the camp's Cardassian overseers, and Meru became Gul Dukat's (Marc Alaimo) mistress. Dukat ensured that Kira's family was safe,...

This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" episode 7, "We're Gonna Be In So Much Trouble."
"Skeleton Crew" is a huge breath of fresh air for the "Star Wars" franchise. The series is as far removed from "Andor" as you can get, showing the versatility of the galaxy far, far away to support all kinds of tones and stories. Though "Skeleton Crew" is full of terrifying moments and dark imagery, it is very much a coming-of-age adventure for audiences of all ages -- not to mention a series that looks at a vast galaxy full of Jedi, X-Wings, and pirates with a sense of wonder that's been missing from the franchise since Luke Skywalker first stared at the binary sunset of Tatooine in "A New Hope."
One aspect where "Skeleton Crew" stands out compared to most "Star Wars" projects in recent years is how many non-human creatures are in the show.

Even Sm-33 (voiced by Nick Frost) shows that he can override his hitherto strict adherence to the pirate code by siding with the kids when push comes to shove, although he does get decapitated for his troubles.

Star Trek: Lower Decks made T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) Star Trek's newest Dax, but it's unclear what this means for either character's future or if audiences will ever see it. In its fifth and final season on Paramount+, Star Trek: Lower Decks' USS Cerritos investigated a series of quantum fissures that had mysteriously opened up throughout the galaxy. The penultimate episode, "Fissure Quest," revealed that Section 31 had assigned Captain William Boimler (Jack Quaid) and a Star Trek legacy character crew of "interdimensional castaways" to discover the cause of these unstable connections to the multiverse.

Later, the heroes entered this world’s version of the Supervisor’s tower, discovering the coordinates to the other worlds… except for At Attin. It’s revealed that their first mate droid Sm-33 had destroyed them on order of his previous captain. As Sm-33 remembers, he also has orders to destroy anyone who knows this information. He immediately turns on the kids. Neel stands up to the droid, distracting him long enough for Jod Na Nawood to turn off Sm-33. The episode ends with Neel comedically fainting.

In a sea of science fiction series that take themselves far too seriously, “Star Trek Lower Decks” has been a sweet and funny balm, a loving parody of the iconic speculative fiction universe that celebrates and pisses on its history in equal measure. Like all good sitcoms, however, “Lower Decks” is coming to an end, and the finale promises to be…maybe, possibly, moderately serious?
The animated series will premiere the finale to its fifth and final season Thursday, December 19, on Paramount+. The episode, titled “The New Next Generation” in reference to the beloved ’80s-’90s “Star Trek” series starring Patrick Stewart, will have an extended running time, and bring back a few characters from the show’s past. Among them are Klingon brothers, Malor (voiced by Sam Witwer) and Ma’ah (Jon Curry), first seen in a previous Season 5 episode. In an exclusive clip shared with IndieWire, the duo...

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew episode 3, “Very Interesting, As An Astrogration Problem,” unraveled more of the mysteries around the planet of At Attin.
The lost children, Wim, Neel, Fern, and Kb, have made a tentative deal with the Force sensitive scoundrel, Jod Na Nawood, to help them get home. Thankfully, they have some allies along the way, such as the first mate of the Onyx Cinder, Sm-33, who is loyal to Fern as his new captain. They also meet Kh’ymm, an owl lady who has her own rough past with Jod, who she knows as “Crimson Jack.” The group was able to narrow down the location of At Attin. Suddenly, because Kh’ymm called ahead of time, the New Republic showed up to try to rescue the children from Jod. However, they don’t know that the New Republic are the good guys, and they flee. Will the kids get home to their parents?...

Star Trek: Lower Deck's final season has reached its conclusion. Nine episodes have come and gone and the last episode is set to air in a matter of days. Before they close things out, however, the crew behind the show took one last leap into the unknown. The penultimate episode, entitled "Fissure Quest" saw a collection of Star Trek all-stars from around the canon, coming together to help stop a growing threat.
The episode brought back a handful of major names, and while they all played familiar roles, no one returned as their original character. Each actor or actress who came back played a different universe's version of their character.
Firstly, Jolene Blalock was back, once again playing T'Pol. Her first version of T'Pol was first seen in Star Trek: Enterprise over 20 years ago. This T'Pol however isn't the same version. This version that we see has been married to...

Warning: Spoilers for Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 5, Episode 9 - "Fissure Quest"
Star Trek: Lower Decks season 5 just topped its previous crossover with Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. In Strange New Worlds season 2, episode 7, "Those Old Scientists," Ensigns Brad Boimler (Jack Quaid) and Beckett Mariner (Tawny Newsome) made the jump from animation to live-action. After encountering a portal, Boimler and Mariner find themselves in the 23rd century USS Enterprise of Captain Christoper Pike (Anson Mount). What follows is a hilarious series of interactions as Boimler tries (and fails) to contain his excitement about meeting his heroes.
In its final season on Paramount+, Star Trek: Lower Decks season 5 finds the USS Cerritos investigating a series of quantum fissures that have opened up across the galaxy. Star Trek: Lower Decks season 5, episode 9, "Fissure Quest," reveals that Section 31 has assigned Captain William Boimler and a crew of "interdimensional castaways" to investigate these rifts in spacetime.

The latest Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, has pulled from many inspirations for its creation. From Amblin films to LucasArts video games like the Monkey Island franchise, there is no shortage of Easter eggs within the series. One in particular in episode two paid homage to a beloved ride at Disney Parks.
Shared on the official Star Wars Twitter account, Sound Designer David W. Collins discusses the homage caught by a fan online. In episode two, “Way, Way Out Past the Barrier,” the four child protagonists are captured by pirates, played by Fred Tatasciore and Jaleel White, and thrown into the brig. As the keys to the cell are hung up, a familiar whistling can be heard in the distance for anyone familiar with the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney Parks.

The first two episodes of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew make one thing very clear: The galaxy is no place for kids.
We receive this message in numerous ways. There's the Career Assessment Test all children on the planet of At Attin must take (essentially the Star Wars version of the Sat). There are the "No Speeder Bikes" signs on the road, even though Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) and Kb (Kyriana Kratter) make it obvious that Speeder Bikes are awesome. There's Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers) asking his dad for a bedtime story and hearing, "Aren't you getting a little bit old for that?"
And in case we've missed the show's subtler messaging, Melna (Paloma Garcia-Lee), the doorkeeper of a space brothel on the pirate haven of Borgo, spells it out. When Melna notices a group of children waltzing into pirate society in Episode 2, she pulls Fern and Kb aside and says, "It's not safe here for children.

Feature films have not been kind to the Looney Tunes. There was a time when the wacky adventures of Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Bugs Bunny and their animated pals were the best and funniest shorts on the silver screen, an era that lasted decades. But most of their longer movies were repackaged classic skits, thinly strung together by new bookend material based on whatever movie or TV show was hot at the time, like “Fantasy Island” or “Ghostbusters.” Then of course there were the “Space Jam” films, two of the most creatively bankrupt and shamelessly tacky brand exploitations in the history of [checks notes] everything.
Until now the only great “Looney Tunes” feature was the one that completely flopped, Joe Dante’s inspired and hilarious “Back in Action,” which smartly skewered the callow capitalism that made the “Space Jam” movies a cinematic crime. The new film, “The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie,...

19 years after Star Trek: Enterprise ended, Jolene Blalock is back as T'Pol in Star Trek: Lower Decks, and she is perfect. In its final season on Paramount+, Star Trek: Lower Decks set the USS Cerritos on a mission to close rifts leading to alternate Star Trek timelines. However, Star Trek: Lower Decks season 5, episode 9 centers on a different starship, the Defiant Class Anaximander led by Captain William Boimler (Jack Quaid), which Section 31 charged with a mission to stop a rogue vessel that's threatening Star Trek's multiverse.
Jolene Blalock portrayed Subcommander T'Pol in all four seasons of Star Trek: Enterprise. Clad in skintight catsuits, Blalock cut a striking figure as T'Pol, who Enterprise retconned as the first Vulcan Science Officer on a Starfleet vessel. Variety is reporting that a Clayface movie is officially moving forward at DC Studios, with Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep; The Fall of the House of Usher; Midnight Mass) attached to write the screenplay.
Flanagan and Trevor Macy, his partner at Intrepid Pictures, pitched the potential film to James Gunn and Peter Safran over a year ago, and it looks like the idea won over the new DC bosses as they've issued a formal greenlight.
Plot details remain under wraps, but what we do know is that Clayface won't be a villain in the feature, which makes sense considering that back in 2021, Flanagan, when asked which DC movie he'd like to make, said, "Well I've wanted to do a Superman movie since I was a kid, but I would also be really keen to do a standalone Clayface movie as a horror/thriller/tragedy."
Filming is tentatively scheduled to begin early next year,...

There are lots of interesting aliens in "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew." In fact, some of them are so interesting that you may not even realize the full extent of their impact until the end credits. One such figure is Benjar Pranic, a former member of Jod Na Nawood's (Jude Law) crew. Pranic casually walks in when Jod attempts to retrieve Sm-33 (voiced by Nick Frost) at the behest of Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Kb (Kyriana Kratter), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), and Neel (Robert Timothy Smith). Fully knowing that Jod should be imprisoned in the brig, the alien sets up a friendly conversation ... which soon cuts into the very unfriendly revelation that Jod now has Brutus' (Fred Tatasciore) entire crew chasing him. Turns out that retired or not, you really can't trust a pirate.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is the latest addition to the small-screen, Disney Plus streaming version of the Galaxy Far, Far Away that we all know and love. Starring Jude Law, the series, which comes from Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts, aspires to be a throwback to the kind of movies Amblin Entertainment put out in the eighties. It’s led by a young cast of kids, with it very much in the mould of The Goonies, albeit in space. So far, it’s collected far better reviews from both critics and fans than many other, more divisive Star Wars projects have in recent years (read our review here).
Recently, we were invited to take part in the Skeleton Crew press day in NYC, and our interviewer, Eric Walkuski was able to speak to two of the stars, Kyriana Kratter & Robert Timothy Smith. Kyriana Kratter plays Kb, who sports...

25 years later, Star Trek: Lower Decks finally shows the horrific reality of one of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's biggest tragedies. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew kicked off with a 2-episode premiere.
The adventure opens with episode 1, “This Could Be a Real Adventure,” following four kids, Wim, Neel, Fern, and Kb, as they accidentally take off in a spaceship, which flies them far away from their home of At Attin. Episode 2, “Way, Wat Out Past The Barrier,” ends with the young protagonists locked in a pirate brig where they meet a Force user named Jod Na Nawood, who offers to help them escape.
The kids discover their planet is a legend, supposedly a lost world full of gold. Pirates take an interest in the kids and want to find their world. Meanwhile, Wim’s father, Wendle, witnessed the kids being taken away in the starship. He’s taken into custody by the creepy security droids of At Attin as they cite that no one is permitted to come or go from the planet.

The aims of the animated anthology Secret Level, whose 15 shorts are based on video and tabletop games, are clear enough: As production company Blur Studio puts it on their website, “Secret Level is our love letter to gaming.” But despite the tangible earnestness of that claim, the series fails to shake off the cynicism of its commercial function and blinkered politics. Beneath flashes of beauty and fits of inspiration lies an elaborate branding exercise.
Secret Level features a handful of shorts that conjure impressive moods. The bleak industrial landscapes in “Armored Core: Asset Management” all but subsume the episode’s protagonist (Keanu Reeves)—and the formidable mech he pilots—conveying the extent of his alienation and the stakes of his mission; the economical “Warhammer 40,000: And They Shall Know No Fear” spares us unnecessary dialogue, setting its space marines loose with sweltering kineticism; and the martial arts revenge tale of...

Warning: Set phasers to spoilers, because this article discusses plot details from the latest episode of "Star Trek: Lower Decks."
Nearly five full seasons into "Lower Decks" and Trekkies might have noticed that some of its most integral characters have remained a bit of an enigma so far. No, we're not talking about our usual crew, all of whom have transformed from some of the franchise's biggest upstarts when the animated series first debuted to fan-favorite additions to the canon. We're not even referring to the simmering rivalry between the delta shift and beta shift on the USS Cerritos, which was first introduced way back in the season 1 episode "Terminal Provocations." No, this team has been hiding in plain sight all along, going about their duty on a daily basis while rarely ever receiving the credit they deserve. And, in an episode that couldn't possibly be more fitting for the show's final season,...

Warning: Spoilers for Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 5, Episode 8 - "Upper Decks"Star Trek: Lower Decks just cleverly reversed the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode that inspired it. As Star Trek: Lower Decks' fifth and final season on Paramount+ nears the finish line, the crew of the USS Cerritos takes a break from its current mission of closing fissures in space that lead to alternate Star Trek timelines. Star Trek: Lower Decks' episodic format allows season 5, episode 8, "Upper Decks" to be a one-off that flips Star Trek: The Next Generation season 7's "Lower Decks."
The first half-hour animated Star Trek comedy series, Star Trek: Lower Decks is also the heir to Star Trek: The Next Generation's popular 24th century era. Star Trek: Lower Decks picks up a year after Star Trek: Nemesis ends, and the USS Cerritos voyages in the wake of the events of Tng, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,...

This article contains spoilers for the first two episodes of "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew."
Back in the day, "Star Wars" used to deal with the fear of the unknown quite a bit. "Episode IV -- A New Hope" alone has plenty of scary moments: Darth Vader (David Prowse, with James Earl Jones providing the voice) is a creepy, unstoppable monster. The Empire is a faceless force of oppression. Animalistic, screeching Tusken Raiders stalk the deserts of Tatooine and nearly end young Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) journey before it even begins. Homesteads and planets are destroyed, countless people die, heroes are trapped in a trash compactor with a monster ... you name it. The other two entries in the original trilogy also have their share of hair-raising moments, from Han Solo's (Harrison Ford) horrifying carbonite prison to the nightmarish fate that befalls anyone cast in the Sarlacc pit.

Spoilers ahead for "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" season 1, episode 2.
"Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" episode 1 begins with an unfortunate space pirate raid, but soon moves away from the action. The majority of the episode is spent introducing the central quartet of youngsters and the secluded world they live in, only sending them into hyperspace at the very end.
Episode 2, on the other hand, fills the kids' and the viewers' eyes and ears with the wonders and horrors of the galaxy. it focuses on Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), Kb (Kyriana Kratter), and Neel (Robert Timothy Smith) adjusting to their new situation, meeting new characters, and exploring new places. From the mysterious Onyx Cinder spaceship and its irritable droid first mate Sm-33 (voiced by Nick Frost) to the sordid space station they all end up on, the main characters get to experience new corners of the "Star Wars" galaxy along with the viewer.

Jon Watts and Christopher Ford are reuniting for a nostalgic journey through a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. While the latter made his writing debut with the sci-fi dramedy Robot & Frank, Watts and Ford enjoyed their rise to success by teaming with each other for the 2014 horror movie Clown, the crime thriller Cop Car and the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man: Homecoming. As Watts became busy with the webslinging trilogy, Ford went on to write and produce the well-received coming-of-age thriller The Clovehitch Killer and rewrite the adaptation of Chaos Walking.
With Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, the duo are working in tandem as the creators and showrunners for the latest installment of the Lucasfilm franchise. The Disney+ show focuses on a group of children from a suburban Republic planet who, after discovering a derelict spaceship, venture off and become stranded in the galaxy far from home.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is a new series coming to Disney+.
The series followed four kids as they discover a crashed ship in the woods of their utopian homeworld. The children are Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers) a dreamer who wants adventures unlike his best friend Neel (Robert Timothy Smith) as well as the rebellious Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) and her bestie Kb (Kyriana Kratter). When the ship takes off with them inside, they must traverse a dangerous galaxy to get back home. Thankfully they are helped by a Force user named Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) and the ship’s grumpy first mate droid Sm-33 (Nick Forst).
The kids catch the eye of pirates including captain Brutus (Fred Tatasciore), Gunter (Jaleel White), and The Mandalorian’s Vane (Marti Matulis) who hunt them. Things aren’t peaceful back on their world either as Fern’s mom Fara (Kerry Condon) is aware that something is wrong,...
