In the world of voice acting, there are few modern legends that can compare to Mel Blanc or June Foray. However, Jim Cummings is one of those individuals, in part due to the sheer number of credits to his name. Not only are there stories about Cummings filling in for Jeremy Irons on The Lion King, but he built a long, sustained career creating his own icons. Some of his most iconic voices include Darkwing Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Pete, and Ray from The Princess and the Frog. With The King of Kings, FandomWire had a chance to speak with him about his performance.

James Arnold Taylor will be best known to many of you for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Clone Wars. The actor has since played the Jedi Master in countless animated series and video games, and in Angel Studios' King of Kings, he lends his voice to Matthew, Thomas, Phillip, and the Young Jesus.
We recently had the good fortune to sit down with Taylor for a conversation about his work in the animated Biblical epic. Needless to say, we had to ask about whether he'll return as Obi-Wan in a future Star Wars project.
"[Adopts Obi-Wan's voice] 'Well, the Force is strong with you my friend. I don't know.' You never know how Obi-Wan will appear again," he teases in the video below. James Arnold Taylor voiced Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Clone Wars, and the actor believes there's still one Obi-Wan story left to tell.
Arnold Taylor spoke to ScreenRant, and shared an idea he's "pretty vocal about." He says, "I would really love for them to tell a story in animated form of Duchess Satine and Obi-Wan when they were younger and how they met, because we've talked about it throughout Clone Wars."
The actor said he's expressed his hopes of a series focused on young Satine Kryze and Obi-Wan to Lucasfilm and won't stop until they tell him to. The Clone Wars shed more light on Satine and Obi-Wan's romance during the Mandalore arc. Satine was a well-written and fully fleshed-out character on the show, and Obi-Wan's love for her was a revelation not just for fans but for Kenobi's apprentice, Anakin.
There are even scenes where Anakin teases his Master...

Quick Links How Rotta the Hutt Could Follow In The Penguins’ Footsteps Jeremy Allen White Will Need To Reinvent How Fans View the Hutts Rotta the Hutt Should Be A Classic Puppet
It's official, Jeremy Allen White is joining the Star Wars galaxy far, far away. White is playing the nearly-forgotten character Rotta the Hutt, who made his debut in the poorly-received 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars. With this high-profile casting, it's beginning to feel like Lucasfilm is trying to make this seemingly minor character’s inclusion in The Mandalorian & Grogu seem like a big deal. The decision to cast a top-tier actor in a role that appears to be entirely outside their comfort zone reflects Matt Reeves’ decision to cast Colin Farrell as The Penguin in 2022’s The Batman. Shortly after that film’s release, it was announced that Farrell would be donning the transformative make-up again...

Australian children's show Bluey has taken the world by storm, as its heartfelt messages about both childhood and parenthood appeal to people of all ages. The show provides life lessons in creative ways without talking down to its audience. Plus, at only seven minutes long per episode, parents dont have to feel bad about how much screen time their children might be getting.
Bluey is certainly an anomaly in the television zeitgeist. However, there are many shows that appeal to children and adults alike with equally interesting messages. These shows are well-loved for different reasons, with some retaining a loyal fanbase into adulthood and others finding mass appeal right at their initial release. Yet, they all make an impact on the families who watch them together.

The Scooby-Doo franchise marked its 55th anniversary this September, and it's genuinely hard to keep track with all the different TV series, specials, and movies (both theatrical and mostly direct-to-video or for TV). Despite all of that and more than half a century of media, only two actors have canonically played Shaggy, the delightfully raspy Bff of the titlular Great Dane. First came the legendary DJ Casey Kasem, who voiced the character for something like 372 episodes of television and 14 made-for-tv movies. Then there was Matthew Lillard, who first joined the franchise in the form of star-studded live-action movies before becoming the voice actor behind Shaggy for approximately 27 direct-to-video movies, eight TV specials, and 156 TV episodes. There is technically one more Shaggy out there...

Star Wars Rebels launched an exciting new chapter in the Star Wars saga, pushing forward the franchise's animated storytelling. Starting five years before Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Rebels told the story of the Spectres, a small group of rebels who would go on to become part of the larger Rebel Alliance. Taking place so close to the original Star Wars trilogy, the series was able to revisit several familiar characters from the early movies, as well as continuing the stories of several characters last seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Additionally, Rebels brought plenty of new faces -- with new voices -- into the galaxy far, far away.
At the heart of Rebels was a family of new heroes, voiced by newcomers to the Star Wars galaxy. Jedi survivor Kanan Jarrus was voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr., previously known for his work in the live-action Scooby Doo movies.

TV shows make for one of the best pastimes in modern entertainment. Some series, like sitcoms and procedurals, invite audiences to stay invested in a series for over a decade, others opt for shorter strategies, such as anthology shows or limited stories. For some series, there is a consensus among fans and critics alike that a notable decline in quality has set in, often occurring around a show's sixth or seventh season. Where some series experience a consistent decline, others do make sure to leave audiences with a positive, rewarding conclusion.
While some series maintain an impressive level of quality throughout, others taper out towards the end, with some rebounding in their final episodes. This can happen for a number of reasons, ranging from losing a star who shows up in the finale to delivering some much-desired closure for the viewers. Tech's blunt and dry humor shines in Clone Force 99, making him the funniest member with iconic quotes. Tech's intellect and honesty are balanced with comedic moments, like his hilarious replies in crucial situations. Tech's unique personality and lack of social awareness lead to plenty of funny moments and interactions in Star Wars.
The dynamic of Clone Force 99 in Star Wars is just as comedic as it is beloved, but there's no doubt Tech is the funniest of them all. While speaking with IGN at CinemaCon 2024 (via GameFragger.com), the actor revealed that her performance as Tiny Tina was "heavily inspired by Margot [Robbie]'s Harley Quinn" from the DC Extended Universe movies Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad. "I read the sides and immediately thought of (Robbie’s Harley) and that's one of the first things I told her actually for the process of getting Barbie," explained Greenblatt. "I watched how she prepared and she read the comic books and she did so much work to build Harley and watching her helped me build Tina."

The iconic Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul duel in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace remains one of the best lightsaber fights in Star Wars history. Darth Maul's character was revived thanks to Star Wars: The Clone Wars recognizing his potential. The evolving rivalry between Obi-Wan and Maul through six duels creates iconic moments across the Star Wars franchise.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul are two of the most iconic characters in Star Wars, and each of their duels are some of the best moments in the franchise. First introduced in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Maul quickly became a fan-favorite villain for his memorable design, intimidating presence, and superb skill with a lightsaber, making him the ultimate rival for Obi-Wan. However, Obi-Wan cutting Maul in half at the end of the movie seemed to have ended his story just as it began.

I think /Film's Jacob Hall put it best in our list of the greatest "Star Wars" movie moments when he described George Lucas' prequel trilogy as "a collection of brilliant ideas, filmed in the most baffling, alien way possible." That extends to Anakin Skywalker's journey from a wide-eyed wunderkind enslaved on Tatooine with his mother to a genocidal tyrant who murders kids and owes fealty to a cackling dictator over the course of three movies. As conceptually logical and narratively sound as the rise of Darth Vader is on paper, it's perplexing enough in motion to merit me writing an article explaining Anakin's fall to the dark side for all those folks who watched the films and yet still came away scratching their heads.
In contrast, you get a far more satisfying depiction of Anakin and his transformation in "The Clone Wars," the animated show following Anakin (Matt Lanter...

Star Wars: The Clone Wars often gets praise for its expansion of characters from the prequel era, and the show has no shortage of great villains. However, the animated series has also undermined others, and there is no better example of this than General Grievous (Matthew Wood) in his role as the terrorizing force of the Confederacy. The original incarnation of the character from the micro-series in the early 2000s was a horrifying force of nature capable of threatening even the greatest Jedi of the era. With The Clone War's focus on less powerful characters, like Ashoka (Ashley Eckstein), leaving Grievous underpowered might have been forgivable if his personality had remained intact. Turning the character into a cowardly schemer was not only redundant when Dooku (Corey Burton) served that same purpose but also neutered him as a potential threat. Ironically, the new series both adheres to the films's continuity and undermines them,...

Warning! This post contains Spoilers for The Bad Batch season 3, episode 10, "Identity Crisis"
Cad Bane played a vital role in Project Necromancer for Palpatine's resurrection plans. Bane collected high m-count Force-sensitive children for the Empire's secret efforts. With a clear lack of morality and willingness to kidnap countless children, Bane proved himself as a trusted professional to the Empire. He likely would have been a candidate to kidnap Rey for Palpatine had Bane been alive.
Star Wars confirms that a popular Clone Wars villain played a crucial role in Palpatine's resurrection plans. As seen in The Bad Batch season 3, the dawn of Project Necromancer is being revealed. This includes the collection of various subjects with high midi-chlorian counts who are being studied in the hopes of finding a viable blood sample for clone host bodies. Star Wars voice actor James Arnold Taylor has revealed that he wants Lucasfilm to make a Plo Koon and young Ahsoka Tano animated series for Disney+.
While speaking at the Clone Wars 15th anniversary panel at Florida Supercon, via Popverse, Taylor was asked about whether or not the Jedi Plo Koon, one of the many characters he voiced on the show, will make another appearance anytime soon. Taylor said the following: "I would be really thrilled if we were able to extend what they did in the last series with Ahsoka and Plo,” before adding, "I’d love a whole mini-series of when she was little, and him training her as a Jedi."

A voice actor from Star Wars: The Clone Wars pitches a spin-off focusing on Ahsoka Tano, potentially retconning Order 66. The idea involves Ahsoka's Jedi training with Plo Koon, but may clash with established Star Wars canon and emotional moments if the latter is revived after Order 66. George Lucas opposed the survival of Plo Koon after Order 66, making it unlikely for the character to see a revival.
A voice actor from Star Wars: The Clone Wars has pitched their idea for a spin-off show centered on Ahsoka Tano, though it would require a massive change to Order 66 in Star Wars canon. As is known by the timeline of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, much of the show takes place in the prequel era before Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Star Wars began as a single movie, which creator George Lucas winnowed down from a much larger storyline. Everyone thought it would bomb. Lucas simply hoped it would turn a profit. Instead, it became the biggest movie of all time. The unprecedented success of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope allowed the full story to flourish, though it took over 40 years for the nine-part Skywalker Saga to reach screens.
Along the way, it grew into more than just a film cycle, with TV series, animation, novels, comic books, and ancillary products of every imaginable kind added to the list. It's even included a few movies outside the Skywalker Saga, with more in various stages of development. 12 films in total have been seen inside of theaters. They're listed below from worst to best, though all of them have qualities worth watching.

Filler episodes in TV shows serve various purposes, including character development, exploring new settings, and introducing important details for future storylines. Shows like Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Once Upon a Time, and Lost effectively use filler episodes to enhance the overall story and build the lore of the franchise. Filler episodes can provide a much-needed break from the main plot, offering lighter and fun moments for the audience, while still contributing to character development.
TV shows that are founded upon countless great filler episodes prove the case for short-term plots making a comeback. Filler episodes are generally referred to with disdain, as the downtime of a TV show where nothing of consequence happens. The audience endures them, patiently waiting for the writers to get back to the main plot. However, these episodes are nonetheless vital to the story.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of Star Wars' wittiest and most hilarious characters, leaving many incredible moments to highlight. Many of Obi-Wan's best quips come whenever his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, is involved, due to the nature of their brotherhood. Obi-Wan's wit presumably comes from being both a sassy Padawan and a cranky old Jedi Master, both of which make for a comedic mixture.
Obi-Wan Kenobi frequently had a witty comeback or snarky remark throughout his appearances in Star Wars' original and prequel trilogies, but 20 quotes in particular stand out as his funniest. As Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Master throughout the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Obi-Wan had ample opportunity for sarcastic banter, and while Anakin was no doubt one of the most powerful Jedi in Star Wars history, he was often on the losing end of Obi-Wan's sharp tongue. Star Wars: The Clone Wars gave obscure and unpopular characters, like Jar Jar Binks, the chance to shine and play a key role in the war. In one episode, Jar Jar Binks successfully posed as Boss Lyonie and trapped General Grievous in a Gungan trap, humiliating the villain. Despite his reputation as clumsy, Jar Jar Binks showed unexpected competence throughout the series, contributing to the ongoing "Darth Jar Jar" fan theory.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars documented the period between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith in which the Republic was at war with the Separatists. The animated series gave just about every character from the prequel era a moment in the sun, and nowhere was this more true than Jar Jar Binks. In one episode, the clumsy Gungan senator did the impossible: capture General Grievous.

Since 1977, the Star Wars universe has delivered viewers one of the greatest, largest casts of characters in the history of fiction. With a canon that spans almost a century and an extended universe that covers millennia, future projects have practically infinite ground to cover. However, series like Andor have shown that A-list characters don't have to be the lead in these projects, and some of the universe's best characters are their most obscure.
Star Wars focuses on characters who range from powerful Jedi knights and Sith lords to space-faring pirates, smugglers and everything in between. The universe can cover a variety of ground, ranging from political thrillers to action, and can attract a large fan base with new projects. Placing more faith in obscure characters could enrich the value of Star Wars as a franchise, while also gaining some distance to explore worlds away from the Skywalker saga.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars has earned a reputation as one of the greatest projects in the history of George Lucas' iconic franchise. The series and its movie tell the story of the Jedi's leadership of the clone army as they fight for the Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Up against villains like Count Dooku and General Grievous, the valiant heroes of the Republic proved themselves core parts of Star Wars history.
The Clone Wars was a great series, but it's no secret among the fandom that it had a tendency to delve too deep into filler territory. With seven seasons and 133 episodes, it shouldn't be any surprise that some Clone Wars episodes felt inconsequential or needlessly long. These episodes are loved by some fans, but they don't have the same entertainment value or significance to lore as others.

In the 40-plus years that Lucasfilm's Star Wars franchise has permeated pop culture, it's been understandably associated with a "theatrical event" status, but there's great potential for the mainline stories to venture into TV. Admittedly, certain Disney+ shows like The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi were somewhat underwhelming when using both the brand and the medium to their fullest.
Even so, should Disney and Lucasfilm become more ambitious regarding TV production, a flagship Star Wars series would be a juggernaut in the industry. Between exploring fresh eras in this universe's history to finally breaking from the shadow of the Skywalkers, there are several pros to having the next Star Wars saga on the small screen.

The horror genre has had a place in television for decades, with some of the most highly acclaimed series in history exploring ideas of serial killers, monsters and other forms of terror. However, some of the best ventures into scary stories don't come from horror series at all, but incorporate elements of the genre into their story. This can make for a fun detour from the established tone of a series.
Some episodes prove a show doesn't have to go full horror to terrify its viewers, and can walk a line between genres like sci-fi, fantasy and crime with horror. These can lead to some unique stories that disturb and scare audiences, with some being seen as off-brand or bold directions for their series. Placing characters not associated with horror in scary situations is a great way of renewing interest in a series, as well as hooking new viewers.

Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars microseries was the first-ever glimpse into the Clone Wars era, featuring iconic characters like General Grievous and Asajj Ventress. Despite being replaced by Dave Filoni's CGI series, parts of the microseries, such as battles and voice actors, were canonized in The Clone Wars. The microseries can still fit into canon as an in-universe propaganda show commissioned by Palpatine to sway public opinion in favor of the Republic.
Genndy Tartakovsky’s Star Wars: Clone Wars microseries from 2003 is easily one of the innovative and visually unique projects in the franchise.
