Exclusive: The National Hispanic Media Coalition revealed its lineup for the upcoming 7th Annual Offical Latino Film and Arts Festival to be presented virtually from Nov. 26 to 28.
Titles include Welcome to Our World, directed by Alfredo Ramos, with performances by Danny Trejo, Emilio Rivera, and Valente Rodriguez. The feature tells the story of Freddie, a young and irresponsible supermarket box boy who is forced to rise to the occasion when his father (Trejo) has a work-related accident. Freddie must now assume the role of “the man of the house and keep the family from going homeless with hilarious results.

On Tuesday night, Telemundo viewers got a chance to watch an sneak peek of the upcoming drama series Al Otro Lado Del Muro (On the Other Side of the Wall) set to premiere on Wednesday, February 21 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt. Starring renowned actresses Litzy and Marjorie de Sousa, the story centers on the lives of two women that cross the U.S.-Mexico border, one following a dream, and the other fleeing a nightmare. Al Otro Lado Del Muro showcases the challenges and opportunities many immigrants experience as they risk everything in pursuit of a better life for themselves and their families. The series also stars Oscar-nominated Adriana Barraza, Gabriel Porras, Uriel del Toro and Guillermo Iván.

The 18th annual San Antonio Film Festival will run for a solid week, June 18-24, at several locations around the city and will feature, as it always does, an expansive and impressive lineup of documentaries, thrillers, dramas and a ton of short films.
The fest kicks off on the 18th with the Canadian culture clash comedy French Immersion, directed by Kevin Tierney, followed by a block of homegrown short films from all over the great state of Texas. The next night’s programming, the 19th, pays tribute to San Antonio’s neighbors to the south with two feature films from Mexico, the drama Burros by Odin Salazar Flores and the documentary Die Standing Up by Jacaranda Correa, as well as a block of short films.
