Isabel Rose, a Manhattan-based singer and actress, recently released her new album, the early ‘60s inspired Trouble in Paradise.
Isabel Rose 'Trouble In Paradise'
Rose, who will be celebrating the new album release Wednesday with a show at New York City’s 54 Below, spoke with uInterview about the inspiration behind her latest musical effort. While Rose pays homage to the pre-hippie 60s era, her music and accompanying stylistic act is modern.
“The performances are stylized, but I'm not a pastiche act, so it's not like going to see a '60s act, like Hairspray on Broadway,” Rose told uInterview exclusively. “I'm a here-and-now performer influenced by that era, but really performing in the here and now.”
“The '60s – that I'm referencing – was before, like, everyone dropping acid; it was sort of the Camelot/Rat Pack '60s,” Rose explained. “That was just a gay old martini time,...

Singer Isabel Rose is celebrating the release of her new album Trouble in Paradise in style with a gig at Manhattan's 54 Below. Rose finds her stylistic inspiration in the pre-hippie 60s. "I'm not a pastiche act," she told uInterview exclusively. "I'm a here-and-now performer, influenced by that era, but really performing in the here and now."
For the title song's video, Rose had a little help from some of Gotham's leading drag queens — Hedda Lettuce, Paige Turner and Ivy Winters. "I learned so much from them, they are so fun, so talented, and they really represented the theme of the song and that is that nothing is at it seems," Rose said.
Catch Isabel Rose on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 9:30p.m. at 54 Below (254 W 54th Street, N.Y, N.Y.) For tickets, click here.

Welcome, one and all, to this week’s results and review write up on Nxt.
This week we start things off with the Nxt Women’s Champion, Paige, defending her title against the veteran main roster talent of Natalya. The fans seem pumped up for this match, and I am too, these two women are two of the most talented female wrestlers on the WWE roster today. The match itself is one that allows both women to show their abilities and the technical side of their repertoire. Paige and Nattie mix it up with chain wrestling and holds, with some nice pin attempts and counters which are always a sight for sore eyes for any wrestling fan in today’s product. Even though both women are baby-face workers, they use the competitive nature of their wrestling backgrounds as a way to use aggressive submission holds and moves against each other...

Welcome, one and all, to this weeks’ results and review write up on Nxt, WWE’s developmental system, on show for the World to see.
We begin the show with the entertaining duo of Enzo and Cassady cutting a promo on their way to the ring. They talk about “The Legionnaires” group. Fun promo that ends with the “sawft” line. Renee Young is on commentary again tonight, which is great, because she’s very, very good. Their opponents tonight are Rusev and Sylvester Lefort who makes his in-ring debut for Nxt tonight. He looks the part and he’s strong on the stick, but what will he be like between the ropes? Big Cass and Rusev begin, and Rusev is in control with impactful offence, for which the big guy is becoming known for. Enzo gets knocked down by Rusev, and then all of a sudden he attacks Lefort, destroying all three men,...

Back in the day, the idea of championships and the prestige behind them proved that you made it. These days, as much as it pains me to say this just feels like a rubberstamp that is used to get more excitement into a match. Those iconic championships that we all grew up on just seem be clothing accessories not prestigious and worthwhile titles, with very few exceptions. Vince Russo said to much controversy in the early 2000′s titles were props and it seems like in WWE’s case that may be true.
This definitely was illustrated by this week’s Wednesday two pack of the Main Event and Nxt. It showed that there is a different title mentality in the wrestling business today. But I’m getting ahead of myself again. Let me illustrate my point by breaking down this weeks Nxt.

Since his debut in 2008, Sheamus has run roughshod over the WWE. The Celtic Warrior has used his overwhelming power and unmatched will and determination to get a boot up on all obstacles. However, in the last week, thanks to the wounds of The Money in the Bank the man formerly known as the Irish curse seemed to have found a blessing in a bruise giving him some much-needed vulnerability. This week’s Main Event and Nxt illustrates the two sides of the same Fella. Let’s break down the difference by recapping the Main Event first.
The Main Event began as the Irish import battled “The Real American” Jack Swagger in a really good match. Swagger did a great job working the leg creating drama in the match. Quite frankly that match is the best Jack has looked in some time. I like the psychology of this. It does wonders for Sheamus as a babyface.

On the eve of Independence Day here in the Us, WWE gave us there Stars & Stripes editions of Nxt and the Main Event. The two-hour block showcase some Real Americans battling for pride in their country and chasing the American dream of championships and briefcases. As always, let’s begin with the Main Event.
We begin the night’s festivities by introducing tonight’s announce team the returning son of the “American Dream” Cody Rhodes and Josh Matthews. Another solid showing from Rhodes in the booth. Especially in the opening match of the night featuring his best friend Damien Sandow as he goes against Christian.
Christian makes his entrance first to a mixed reaction as Sandow comes out cutting a promo calling his opponent a troglodyte. Sandow also added a quote from a great man, Damien Sandow saying, “in the Valley of the Stupid, the half-wit is king”. The enlightened...

This week’s editions of the Main Event and Nxt had solid moments that everyone should check out. From hair-raising contests to family affairs this week’s WWE two-hour team up really worked well. Let’s begin with the Main Event…
The show, which emanated from Detroit began with a great promo from Antonio Césaro complete with a very European beret and sunglasses. This I hope is a change for the better when it comes to the Swiss Superman. There was no yodeling craziness of any kind. Only great action from from he in the United States champion and new father Kofi Kingston. That is perhaps one of the best matches I’ve seen either man have in quite some time. Now I hope WWE was listening to that as the crowd reacted to both men even though they have not been booked as effective characters in the eyes of most fans.

Drag queens and bathrooms are central to many queer New Yorkers' nightlife experiences, so for Gay Pride month and Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, it almost made too much sense to pose some of our favorite drag queens in some of the city's quirkiest bathrooms. Almost, but not quite.
So please enjoy these shots of Sharon Needles, Jiggly Caliente, Paige Turner, Linda Simpson, Sherry Vine and Peppermint in repose on the can. Plus: Find out where you can see these queens during Gay Pride season, hear their craziest bathroom tales (watching Debbie Harry pee in the hall!), and check out their advice for that other Queen as she enters the next phase of her reign (hint: less hats, more glamour).

These terrible parents were arrested after police found their baby boys lying on the floor, unable to move! Kaitlynn Paige Turner, 21, and Michael Anthony Turner, 24, have been charged with child abuse after deputies discovered a shocking sight — their twin boys tied up, according to The Daily Mail! The police officers were at the home to serve an arrest warrant, when they noticed one boy face down with his hands tied behind his back and the other on his back with his legs tied together. An unharmed 2-year-old was also at the Florida home, and all three kids are now in care of child services. One of the twins was taken to the hospital for a checkup, and police say both twins had "numerous bruises." Kaitlynn's mother, Kristie Power, says she had no idea what was going on and expressed concern for her grandsons. "I don't know what else to say,...

.You can have the most whizz-bang camera moves and special effects but unless you have a great idea it.s absolutely meaningless..
So says veteran actor David Wenham, best known for such projects as 300 and Lord of the Rings, and more recently Killing Time.
.I think the most important element in any film or television piece is the idea itself. And it has to be a really unique, original idea..
Content creators need to keep this in mind . particularly those competing for the Optus One80Project crown as Wenham is one of the three main judges. Joining Wenham in his second year as judge is Tomorrow, When The War Began actor Lincoln Lewis and 2010 One80 winner Maia Horniak.

In what may be the most pivotal moment in American Idol history, judge Randy Jackson has entered a new phase in his normally praise-slathered critiquing. He hates somebody. Paige Turner, to be exact, and you know it's serious. Not even once does he call her dawg. Things are equally ugly on The Secret Life of the American Teenager when Rick tries to move in on Ashley as her Bf Grant watches from afar. While openly swilling champagne. Here's the secret, dude: American teens are supposed to do their drinking behind the dumpster at 7-Eleven. And in MTV's Is She Really Going Out with Him, the "him" is a lad who is so filled with bile he's aroused at the thought of her...
