Teen Titans Go! may have its fans, but Max seemingly isn't one of them. The streamer got a head start on spring cleaning by kicking off 2025 with a content purge.

Per ComicBook.com, Max has removed the first seven seasons of Teen Titans Go! from its platform. Additionally, the original Teen Titans series which aired for five seasons and 65 episodes from 2003 to 2006 is no longer available to stream. The only silver lining is that Season 8 of Teen Titans Go! is still accessible to fans on Max. The eighth (and current) season of the fan-favorite DC animated series premiered in October 2022 and aired its most recent episode, the two-part "Four Hundred," on Nov. 30, 2024.

Teen Titans Go! has just debuted its 400th episode and is celebrating becoming the longest-running DC animated series of all time. We recently got the opportunity to sit down and talk with Raven voice actress Tara Strong, who reflected on the long journey to this point and shared some thoughts on the series' future.

At this point, Teen Titans Go! looks like it could go on forever. As Tara Strong jokes, "... in our minds, we're gonna get to episode 10,000." Sure, the actress is only kidding, but she still thinks about what episode 500 might look like. Strong speculated: "Maybe there's an on-camera mix. Maybe we Roger Rabbit that stuff, you know?" She continued, "I'll suit up. Everybody will suit up. Everybody."

The consensus is that going the musical route was a bad move.

"Batman: The Animated Series" wound up being as definitive an account of the Dark Knight as its title suggested. So when a new Batman cartoon finally came afterwards, it was destined to never escape the shadow of "Btas." But "The Batman" (which aired from 2004 to 2008) made a noble effort and remains one of the more unique spins on the Caped Crusader.

"The Batman," developed by Michael Goguen and Duane Capizzi, was the first animated Batman in 12 years that was unconnected to the DC Animated Universe (The shared setting that began with "Batman: The Animated Series" and concluded with "Justice League Unlimited").

Bruce Wayne in "The Batman" was voiced by Rino Romano, and Joker by Kevin Michael Richardson, rather than the beloved Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker duo. Bruce Timm modeled "Batman: The Animated Series" on the Fleischer Studios Superman cartoons, while Jeff Matsuda gave Gotham City an anime makeover.

Teen Titans is primarily centered around the adventures of Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy, but they're far from the only major characters in the series. Numerous other heroes and even more villains drive stories and receive development. Over the course of five seasons, an abundance of minor characters are also featured, some drawn from obscure DC lore, while others are entirely original.

With only thirteen episodes in each season, Teen Titans didn't have time to explore all the amazing characters it introduced. Fans would have loved to see more characters like Bumblebee, Speedy, and Red X and are largely in agreement that Blackfire should have been the main villain for an entire season centered around Starfire. Many of the Honorary Titans introduced in Season 5 were also criminally underserved and should have been explored for at least a single episode.

With Teen Titans finally set to get the big screen treatment, it’s only right to assume that the upcoming film will take a page out of the 2003 show. Released during the peak of the Dcau on Cartoon Network, Teen Titans would eventually transcend the medium, becoming the best-animated show to ever hit the network.

And while fans will hope the upcoming live-action adaptation will take major inspiration from the show, its influences shouldn’t be limited to this adaptation alone. Considering the animation department is set to be a major driving force for the new universe, James Gunn and co. have the perfect template in Teen Titans to push the medium to new heights.

Max has renewed “Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake” for a second season.

A spinoff of “Adventure Time,” which ran on Cartoon Network from 2010 to 2018, the series follows Fionna (Madeleine Martin) and her sidekick, Cake (Roz Ryan), who find themselves in the crosshairs of a powerful new foe, leaving them with no choice but to seek the help of Simon Petrikov, the former Ice King (Tom Kenny). Other characters from from the original series featured in “Fionna and Cake” include Marshall Lee (Donald Glover), Marceline the Vampire Queen (Olivia Olson), Princess Bubblegum (Hynden Walch) and Finn the Human (Jeremy Shada). The news comes two months after showrunner Adam Muto told Variety he was unsure whether the show would continue, saying, “It’s in discussion. But the person who greenlit the first season is no longer at Max.

One of the main reasons TV characters can be so relatable is their development. In real life, humans are constantly growing and changing, so it's satisfying to see these realities displayed in popular shows. That being said, not every character has a straightforward arc, and some are completely thrown off track during their respective shows.

Characters like Britta from Community completely shift their personalities between seasons, effectively abandoning the original character. Other cases, like Frank Murphy from F is for Family seem to make substantial progress throughout their series, only to completely revert to their old ways. What's worse, some of these developments feel so random that they negatively impact the flow of the entire show. Whether these characters never fully change or their arc is chaotic, the result is utterly unsatisfying.

A legend is no longer with us, for Arleen Sorkin has died at the age of 67. The news was first reported by voice actor Neil Kaplan and later confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. She is survived by her husband and their two sons. Mrs. Sorkin is most remembered for being the original voice of the DC Comics character Harley Quinn. She played the part across 17 years, beginning in "Batman: The Animated Series" in 1992 and for the last time in the 2009 video game, "Batman: Arkham Asylum." DC fans have been waiting two years to get their first sneak peek at the upcoming movie, which will be available sometime this spring. An official release date has not yet been announced, but will more than likely be revealed soon.

The Teen Titans have proven remarkably flexible since their mid-1960s debut as a collection of sidekicks. They appealed to the young readers with Bob Haney’s laughable “hip” language and as the readership grew up, so too did the members of the team, addressing adult issues with changing times and tastes.

They were propelled from mid-list to top-seller status by the Marv Wolfman and George Pérez run starting in summer 1980. These were teens on the verge of adulthood and had problems and issues that the college-age readership were drawn to. The blend of supernatural, science fiction, and super-heroics meant the stories could, and did, go anywhere.

Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans is now out on digital and gets a home release next month.

Following its premiere at Sdcc back in July, Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans is now heading for its home release.

The original voice cast are back for all-new crossover antics, including Greg Cipes as Beast Boy, Scott Menville as Robin, Khary Payton as Cyborg, Tara Strong as Raven, and Hynden Walch as Starfire. Kevin Michael Richardson lends his chords to Trigon/Hexagon, Robert Morse is Santa Claus, Grey Griffin plays Mrs. Claus, and the one and only Rhys Darby pops up as the Master of Games, with Sean Maher (Firefly) as Nightwing, and "Weird Al" Yankovic as Gentleman Ghost and Darkseid.

In Young Justice: Outsiders – The Complete Third Season, our heroes have survived the schemes of the Light and saved the Earth from the Reach Invasion – but the worst has yet to come. Now someone is kidnapping teens and transforming them into super-powered weapons!

The Hush storyline by Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee, and Scott Williams was a smash sales success because it safely followed the Loeb formula of a 12-issue mystery that enveloped every major member of the rogues’ gallery. First, there was the Holiday killed and the making of Two-Face and here we have the new threat of Hush which connects to young Bruce Wayne’s childhood.

To fit this into the connected Animated Universe, Batman: Hush, out now from Warner Home Entertainment, a host of changes had to be made. The one that did not need alteration is the one that entirely spoils the final third of the 82-minute film.

I’ve not been fond of veteran animation writer Ernie Altbacker’s previous forays into the Dcau, but this contains some of his finest moments. Coupled with above-average source material and fine character designs, this is one of the stronger-looking films in a while.

When it comes to Batman: Hush, you could say I’ve waited years for it to be adapted to a movie – because I have. It goes without saying that every fan of the Caped Crusader who reads comics has a favorite storyline to call their own, and mine is the classic written by Jeph Loeb and illustrated by Jim Lee. Finally, the talented folks developing these DC animated films were given the green light to bring it to life.

If I had to say why I loved the comic so much, it’s probably because it was a riveting mystery that simultaneously functioned as an entry level story you could hand to anybody in order to school them on Batman’s world. Pretty much all of his top-tier supporting characters and villains were present, so it was kind of an encyclopedia with a narrative. Plus, it took the Batman-Catwoman romance to the next level,...

Though I’ll always remain a Justice League Unlimited guy first and foremost, I’ll admit that I do like seeing DC’s younger heroes getting a chance to shine. Whether it be Young Justice or DC Super Hero Girls, we’ve seen drastically different productions meeting the needs of audiences in recent years, with each filling an important niche.

Actually, I’d be remiss if not mentioning Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!, two series featuring the same cast which happen to be radically dissimilar in tone. For many people, the ‘Teen Titans’ cartoon from the early 2000s was their first introduction to DC lore beyond the basic members of the Justice League. A solid mix of western and eastern animated styles, the show enjoyed clever writing, relatable characters, and one of the most iconic voice casts in the history of the medium. And one of the biggest jewels in the show’s crown was Starfire, the alien princess from the planet Tamaran who was still trying to get used to this whole ‘living on Earth’ thing, but was determined to protect her friends and maintained her sunny disposition in the face of a metric ton of adversity. "Nightmare Monkeys" is Young Justice at its best: a deep dive into a character and the show's mythology. It's also Young Justice: Outsiders at its best: a show that is doing a bunch of crazy shit that it would never get away with on broadcast or cable tv. If Yj was still on Cartoon Network, they would have been canceled the second the showrunners put the words "Doom Patrol Go!" on paper.

Beast Boy is a surprisingly integral character to Young Justice: Outsiders. He showed up late in the first season and wound up as Miss Martian's semi-brother (it's complicated) by the end of the episode. Then he came back as a semi-regular character in season two, developing his powers and being a solid all around character.

I will admit that I skipped Teen Titans Go! since I was far beyond their target audience, I was happy to see a scaled down, entry-level animated series succeed so well on cable. It honored its Marv Wolfman/George Pérez roots and had a nice run. What I never expected was to see it make the leap to the big screen and succeed as well as it did.

Back in the spring, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies was among the least anticipated summer films by theater owners at Movie Con but then arrived to superlative reviews (91% fresh at Rotten Tomatoes) and stronger than anticipated box office with $51.8 million earned worldwide against a $10 million budget.

It seems to the Teens that all the major superheroes out there are starring in their own movies-everyone but the Teen Titans, that is. You may be forgiven for not being wildly excited about the release of Teen Titans Go! to the Movies. Unless you are in possession of small children and/or quirky taste in toons, the big screen debut of the small screen super friends is unlikely to have had much impact at all. So you may be forgiven. But you would also be totally Wrong.

Make haste to your television sets and get familiar with the Titans, fast, before you lose the right to brag: I was totally into Teen Titans before they made it big!
