The Mayor is back in office. Jeremy Renner has been out of commission for a year since having his unfortunate snow plow accident. As it happened at the start of the calendar year, much of his 2023 was spent rehabilitating his body after suffering blunt chest trauma and 30 broken bones. Then, earlier this January, Renner teased his return to the set, with great apprehension, when he posted a pic from the production with the caption, “Day one on set … nervous today. Hope this works out that I can Actually pull this off for our production and more importantly the fans.“ Now, the new trailer for season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown has dropped.
The logline for the season reads,
“A series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob sets up shop in the city, and a drug war rages inside and outside prison walls.

Jeremy Renner is back as Mike McLusky in the first trailer for the actor’s Mayor of Kingstown return.
The third season of the Taylor Sheridan Paramount+ series marks Renner’s acting comeback following his near-fatal 2023 New Year’s Day snowplow accident. Renner returned to set one year after he was critically injured after being run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat at his home in Reno, Nevada. He had broken 38 bones and his rib cage was rebuilt with metal, along with metal plates in his face to support his eye socket and titanium rods in one of his legs.
When marking being back on set after months of intense recovery, the series star had said he was nervous. “Hope this works out that I can Actually pull this off for our production and more importantly the fans,” he wrote on Instagram.

Jeremy Renner is ready to resume his role as the figurative Mayor of Kingstown, exactly one year after the snowplow accident that nearly ended his life.
Last January 1, Renner — after using his personal Sno-Cat to help a nephew whose car was stuck in the snow, at the actor’s Lake Tahoe property — got out of the plow, which then started to roll. When Renner tried to get back in to stop the 1,400-lb. machine, it ran him over.

It was announced earlier this month that Mayor of Kingstown would be renewed for a third season, but Deadline reports that one of the series’ main stars will not be returning. According to their sources, Dianne Wiest won’t be back for Mayor of Kingstown season 3.

Mayor of Kingstown is losing a pivotal player.
Deadline reports that Dianne Wiest is bowing out of the Paramount+ drama and will not appear on Mayor of Kingstown Season 3.
The outlet reports that Wiest's future with the series had been in flux for some time.
It doesn't sound like the actress was ready to leave the show.
Deadline says that the decision was driven by the story.
It happens frequently on TV shows because they constantly want to switch things up to keep viewers tuning in.
Wiest has played Miriam McClusky since Mayor of Kingstown Season 1, and there was no indication at the close of March's season finale that Miriam's time on-screen was coming to an end.
As a result, we don't know how this will be handled when the next episodes of the Taylor Sheridan drama hit the air.

Taylor Sheridan's grip on the small screen shows no signs of slowing down.
Paramount+ has officially renewed Mayor of Kingstown for Season 3.
The news broke Wednesday, almost six months after the Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 finale.
While the renewal announcement took a long time, series star Jeremy Renner hinted at the show securing a pickup back in May.
He shared a photo of his character, accompanied with the following caption:
"Might be time to start mental preparation for 3?"
The renewal decision must have been made long ago, given that we're in the middle of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Renewal was a no-brainer because it's hard to imagine Paramount+ parting ways with any project from Sheridan, the creator of the hit Yellowstone franchise.
Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 didn't exactly end with a resolution, but there is an element of unpredictability regarding renewal decisions, thanks to the strikes.

Jeremy Renner, who suffered 30 broken bones in a near-fatal snowplow accident in January, is set to return as Mike McLusky, a former inmate whose family works as mediators between the street gangs, prisoners, guards and cops in the fictional town of Kingstown, Mich. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.

This may be the season that CSI: Vegas finally stands on its own two feet.
In its first two seasons, this hybrid has faced a difficult challenge. It's not a revival of the popular series, which ran for 15 seasons on CBS. It isn't a reboot, with new characters repopulating an old concept.
Instead, in its first two seasons, CSI: Vegas has featured a couple of legacy characters to draw in viewers of the original series.
In CSI: Vegas Season 1, power couple Gil Grissom (William Peterson) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) returned to clear the lab's reputation and former lab rat David Hodges (Wallace Langham) from a well-crafted frame.
Meanwhile, seemingly in the background, the lab's new criminologists solved the day-to-day cases.
What Were the Highlights of CSI: Vegas Season 2?
The second season struck a better balance between new and old. It almost had to.
The return of Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) was well handled.

Is it possible for the end of a storyline to feel both long overdue and abrupt simultaneously?
That was how the conclusion of the Silver Ink Killer case felt on CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 16.
Viewers need to become invested in a season-long storyline. They need to grow to hate the big bad, who the heroes are attempting to catch, so they have some satisfaction in the end.
That's a difficult feat with a villain the viewers have just met.
That's not to say that Ronald Winter wasn't someone at whom viewers couldn't hiss. He wasn't even marginally likable.
He was one of those super-intelligent types that were too smart for his own good. He had to keep calling to explain his mission to the CSIs, whether they wanted to hear it.
What was quickly established was that Hester, the Silver Ink mastermind, and Winter had two very different plans.

This case of the week was hard to stomach.
That's because the episode was set in the world of competitive eating on CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 14.
And, shockingly, the victim didn't eat himself to death, as would have been a logical guess.
This episode was notable because of the substitute medical examiner, Dr. Milton Hudson, played by Derek Webster.
The Las Vegas morgue has been somewhat adrift since the departure of Mel Rodriguez's Hugo Ramirez.
Hugo was a big, quirky, likable personality who has been sorely missed.
His replacements, the sister-and-brother team of Sonya and Jack Nikolayevich, just haven't filled Hugo's scrubs. She's been prickly, and he's been whiny.
Maybe that's why the morgue hasn't been as prominent a part of the investigative action as it has in past seasons of the reboot and the original series.
That's why Milton's visit was intriguing. He also was quirky and likable.
