Ask any Trekkie, and they'll happily describe the arc of the three "Star Trek" shows that came to ascend in the 1990s. In the cases of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Star Trek: Voyager," the shows started on their rockiest, least interesting seasons as they found their footing. All three shows showed growth during their second seasons but were still staggering to their feet. For the third, fourth, and fifth seasons, the shows had hit their stride, turning out the most interesting stories and exploring exciting new arcs. The sixth and seventh seasons, meanwhile, showed signs of fatigue, and the final episodes of each show proved to be a little rocky.
As of this writing, no "Star Trek" show has lasted as long as those three. "Star Trek: Discovery" will end after its fifth season next year, and no one was more sharply aware...

It’s not weird that we do this one first, right? Shhhh. We don’t have to actually tell anyone. One of you is going to give me shit, aren’t you? I think if we did do Dark Shadows Og, we’d have to do a whole Dark Shadows week. If you want that please send your love notes to the higher ups. That’s said, let’s crank the Joy Division and take a step into the trashy romance novels of horror soaps, Dark Shadows Revival 91. Yes, we’re adding the 91.

We have one last batch of Blu-ray and DVD releases coming our way before we say goodbye (and good riddance) to the month of March. Scream Factory is keeping busy this Tuesday with their Blu-rays for both Bones and Munster, Go Home! Arrow Video has put together a 3-Disc Special Edition Collector’s Set of the Ringu films that fans will definitely want to pick up, and season two of The Purge television series heads home to DVD, too. Other releases for March 31st include Eat Brains Love, Evil River, and Terror in Woods Creek.

When Duane Sarcione (Michael T. Weiss) finds himself in the hole with mobster ‘The Sledge’ (Sam Douglas), he has no choice but to run. It’s not a surprising move despite only knowing him for five minutes — gambling has a hold and he’s drowning under the weight of turmoil both in and out of his control. This act, however, isn’t without collateral damage. His wife had already passed away, but his young son Gino (Nolan Lyons) was still around struggling to get through school with the help of his ‘Gramps’ Joe (Robert Miano). Suddenly Gino and Joe are left holding Duane’s debt because ‘The Sledge’ would rather have his hooks in a local than worry about chasing a coward. The ramifications of this new dynamic arrive ten years later.

Well, it’s about time. For the last twenty-five years or so, we’ve had one animated Batman series after another but to be honest only two are really good: Batman the Animated Series and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. The latter has been slowly coming out on Blu-Ray with season one in 2013 and season two in 2015. This month, we’re getting the third and final season and the good news is that it is as entertaining as remembered.
After increasingly odd interpretations of Batman, Warner Animation decided to go retro and bring back the Batman of the 1960s, who was not afraid to operate in daylight and would partner with just about anyone in a mask as the need arose. Producer James Tucker saw to it that it honored the comic the series took its name from while modernizing it with contemporary characters and characterizations. The result was...

Growing up in the ’90s, my path to the glory of Pam Grier took an odd route. I was probably about 12 years old watching an HBO First Look for John Carpenter’s Escape From L.A., and they spent what seemed an inordinate amount of time fawning over this woman playing Hershe Las Palmas, the transsexual crime boss formerly known as Carjack Malone. Being a snot-nosed kid, I had no idea who Grier was. Of course, since then I’ve come to know and appreciate her as genre royalty, with a list of credits extending from ’70s blaxploitation film like Coffy and Scream, Blacula, Scream to all sorts of film and television roles spanning five decades. That said, whenever I see or hear mention of Grier, my first thought will be of her bantering in a put-on deep voice to an eye-patched Kurt Russell.

Michael and Sam follow a lead to the man who hired Lucien the clock-maker/bomb-maker. As they arrive, the man torches his safehouse, and Michael and Sam are only able to recover his charred computer. Michael takes Sam’s place helping Jesse with a case of corporate espionage, freeing Sam to contact a friend who may be able to salvage what’s on the computer.
Jesse’s client was Richard Grombach, billionaire owner of big box stores and fast food restaurants. Sam, and now Michael, was supposed to play a hacker who joined the team of corporate spies plotting against Grombach. The actual hacking would be done by a device Jesse gave Michael, which would gather evidence against the spies. Jesse also convinced Maddie to help him on the job by taking photos. The whole thing was supposed to be relatively safe, as the criminals were thought to be white-collar.

Michael and Sam travel to a clock shop in Tallahassee. The owner, Lucien Dobos (Patrick Bauchau), is also the man who built the bomb that almost killed Michael’s impersonator two episodes ago. Meanwhile, Fiona helps Jesse beef up home security for James and Sadie Forte (James Frain and Darby Stanchfield).
“Eye for an Eye” was not typical of Burn Notice in that, for the most part, the regulars did not play roles to fool the bad guys. Instead, they were fooled by a couple of villains who put up solid fronts. I’ve been a fan of Patrick Bauchau since his role on NBC’s The Pretender (1996-2000). He played Sydney, a scientist who worked for the nefarious Centre. The Centre had abducted child prodigy Jarod (Michael T. Weiss), but Sydney had also been a father figure who helped raise Jarod.

Finally. I've been waiting all season for Jamie to confide in his family about the Blue Templar. I always thought he'd go to his Dad with it so when he brought the information to Danny instead I was both happy and surprised.
"Cellar Boy" started off with the murder of the Reagan's family friends. The Clearys sounded like the unhappy family on the block that everyone else gossiped about.
The Dad was a pillar of the community but a bastard at home, calling Ronnie, his mentally ill son "Cellar Boy" while Mom looked the other way. Talk about dysfunctional.
At least Ronnie could blame his bipolar disorder and his drug use for his issues.
But Al and Anne, the supposedly sane siblings, stabbed Mom and Dad to death and then set up their brother to take the fall. All because their parents were spending too much of what the kids deemed to be their inheritance.

Who do you trust? That is the question I was left with after "Hall of Mirrors." The episode kept everyone guessing about the amount of faith they possessed in their partner and in their family members.

Will Jamie finally go to his father about this case? If not, what more it will take? The FBI has come to Jamie about his brother’s death. Officer Gonzalev suspiciously killed herself after talking to Jamie about the case and now Detective Molevsky is threatening him. Renzulli thinks Jamie has good intincts, but at what point do those instincts tell him he can’t handle this on his own?

In Part One of our interview with Melissa Reeves, the acclaimed actress discussed her aspirations to be a dancer in New York, and her experience working on the brand new soap, Santa Barbara. Melissa Reeves: She taught me everything about this business. We would sit in her room for hours every single day. Every single day. She was really the only person I worked with aside from Michael T. Weiss for the longest time. She would teach me, she would tell me stories. She was a feisty old bull,...

The Guilty Pleasure Fairy visited me in my sleep recently and left The Lair: Season Three under my pillow. Woo-hoo! The Fred Olen Ray vampire-sex-club soap opera is back—now with 100 percent more Sybil Danning! Courtesy of the friendly folks at here! TV (I really wish they’d just break down and capitalize “Here”—seriously), which is currently airing the series on-demand, I had a chance to chat briefly with a few of the stars of this new season.

His bad-boy image has served him well in the adult world since 2003, and he has won several “Grabby” and GayVN Awards for his performances in videos like Detention and Wrong Side Of The Tracks. Season two of The Lair was his first straight acting gig, and he returns in the third as Tim, having...

When original Pretender adventures disappeared from the airwaves in 2001, fans were still left with a lot of questions. Fortunately, the show's creators haven't forgotten about them and are working on a way to bring the series back, albeit in a different form.
The Pretender debuted on September 19, 1996 and aired for four seasons on NBC. In the series, Michael T. Weiss plays the lead character, a beyond-genius "Pretender" named Jarod. As a young boy, Jarod was abducted from his parents and trained by The Centre to be able to flawlessly integrate himself into any profession or lifestyle. As an adult, Jarod discovers that the organization is using him for no good and he escapes. Jarod travels the country trying to help those in need while managing to stay a step ahead of his captors. When the series ended on May 13, 2000 after four seasons, it looked like Jarod, Miss Parker (Andrea Parker...
