New Bosch spinoff series includes Michael Connelly's character Renée Ballard & could potentially feature Harry Bosch as well. In 2025, the upcoming Superman reboot will introduce Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, portraying a more physically imposing version of the iconic villain. Previous big-screen versions of Lex Luthor focused on intellect, but Hoult's Luthor aims to showcase a blend of brawn and brains in the DC Universe. The upcoming film may also explore other aspects of the character, such as Lex Luthor's use of power armor from the DC Comics source material.

The 34-year-old British actor Nicholas Hoult kicked off production last week on Warner Bros. Discovery’s next big bet: “Superman” with director James Gunn and actors David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. Hiroyuki Sanada, star and producer of FX’s excellent miniseries Shōgun, is one of the most successful Japanese actors working in Hollywood today. English-speaking audiences have to come to know and appreciate the Tokyo-born performer through his roles in films such as The Last Samurai, Speed Racer, The Wolverine, Army of the Dead, and John Wick: Chapter 4.
TV nerds (including yours truly) had an entirely different introduction to Hiroyuki Sanada, however. For us, Sanada’s Western pop culture career begins with the final season of classic ABC drama Lost.
Despite what you may have heard about its ending Lost is one of the best genre series to ever grace network television. It also, admittedly, wasn’t perfect. And its simultaneously ingenious and infuriating use of Sanada in its sixth and final season is a perfect microcosm of the show overall.

A spin-off of the hit Prime Video series Bosch that ended in 2021 as Amazon's longest-running scripted series to date, Bosch: Legacy saw fan-favorite Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) turn in his LAPD badge and gun in exchange for the scheming guise of a private detective, now working under the employment of his former foe Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers). Almost upon instant arrival, the series was a massive success that filled the vast hole left by the show's predecessor. This success led to the confirmation of a second and, before that second had even begun, a third season, proving just how much faith has been placed by Amazon in Bosch: Legacy. So, with news of that third season now trickling in, and with a plethora of unanswered questions burning the minds of fans following an explosive Season 2 finale, here is everything we know about Bosch: Legacy Season 3 so far.

Bosch is definitely one of the most successful and critically acclaimed cop dramas out there, and that’s saying something considering there are thousands to choose from. Adapted non-chronologically from Michael Connelly’s popular mystery novel series, Bosch features Titus Welliver as the stoic LAPD detective, Harry Bosch. Throughout the show’s seven-season run, Bosch has survived shootouts, military assassins, serial killers, lawsuits, internal affairs probes, and a lengthy suspension — all stemming from his unwavering commitment to a single principle: the pursuit of justice for all. Starting all the way back in 2014 and ending with its final season in 2021, Bosch...

Bosch is a consistently gripping and well-executed police procedural show that follows the classic film noir detective genre. Each season of Bosch executes the basics faultlessly, delivering intriguing mysteries and flawed characters. The show explores the corrupt system of the LAPD and showcases the moral struggles of its main character, Harry Bosch, in his quest for justice.
For seven seasons of Bosch, and two more seasons of its spinoff, Amazon has delivered an extremely consistent show. Based on the popular series of novels by Michael Connelly, Bosch follows Harry Bosch of the LAPD as he works on twisty homicide cases. The series follows many of the hallmarks of police procedurals, but it excels in every department. The writing is consistently gripping, even when the story has to juggle many different subplots. The cast is also exceptional, led by Titus Welliver, whose permanent scowl and gravelly voice make him every bit the hard-boiled detective.

Lex Luthor will be looking more like the classic depictions of the character in the upcoming film Superman: Legacy.
Historically, Superman's arch-nemesis has been depicted as completely bald, from the original DC comic books to various animated projects and feature films. There have been some versions of Lex to reimagine different looks for the character, which notably includes Jesse Eisenberg's long-haired incarnation in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. On the social media platform Threads, Gunn was asked by a fan if the Dcu's Lex would be bald, and the director responded, "ofc," which is internet slang for, "of f***ing course."

Bosch: Legacy features a mix of old and new characters, bringing back beloved favorites in cameo appearances. Titus Welliver's portrayal of Harry Bosch remains consistent and captivating throughout Bosch: Legacy. The spinoff explores the personal and professional growth of characters like Maddie Bosch and Honey "Money" Chandler.
Although Bosch: Legacy features a number of new characters, there are plenty who return from Bosch, either as major players or in smaller roles. The cast of Bosch: Legacy is a healthy mix of old and new, with Titus Welliver, Mimi Rogers, and Madison Lintz in the spotlight, but they are supported by some less familiar faces. Harry Bosch has left the LAPD, so there aren't as many of his colleagues, but his work as a private detective allows him to catch up with old friends and foes alike.

The relationship between Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) and his daughter, Maddie (Madison Lintz) has always been wonderfully portrayed on-screen, especially in Bosch: Legacy. When we're first introduced to Maddie in Bosch, she lives with her mother, former FBI agent Eleanor Wish (Sarah Clarke) in Las Vegas, with Harry a distant dad. Over the years, the pair grow closer, partly due to the death of Eleanor as part of an FBI operation, as well as the kidnapping of both Eleanor and Maddie early on in the series. These events, one might surmise, could push Maddie down a route of darkness.

"F*ckin' Bosch." One of the most compelling arcs in Bosch was the complex relationship between Titus Welliver's titular detective and Lance Reddick's Irvin Irving, which was set to be re-examined again in the third season of Bosch: Legacy prior to Reddick's untimely passing. Bosch and Irving often find themselves on opposing sides due to their differing roles within the LAPD. Bosch, a relentless and independent detective, is focused on solving cases and seeking justice.

When Bosch ended its run on Prime Video, we didn't anticipate it would lead to a full-fledged franchise.
The latest series to enter development focuses on Detective Renée Ballard, who is tasked with running the LAPD's new cold case division.
The division is "a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest caseload in the city," Prime Video states in the series' description.
"Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination.
"When she uncovers a larger conspiracy during her investigations, she'll lean on the assistance of her retired ally, Harry Bosch, to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life."
"From books to screen, Michael Connelly creates authentic and suspenseful stories, led by distinctive characters who make audiences care and connect," said Lauren Anderson, head of AVOD originals, unscripted, and targeted programming at Amazon MGM Studios.
