Manuscripts of Wylie's works, including 34 novels, 13 nonfiction books, 52 scripts, 13 serials, and many short stories and articles, are housed in Princeton University Library's Department of Rare Books and Special Collections.

A copy of his novel "Gladiator" can be seen in a panel of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' seminal graphic novel "Watchmen" in Hollis Mason's home. Like "Gladiator", "Watchmen" with the character of Dr Manhattan, tackles the question of how an individual with godlike powers would fit into a modern society.

His novel 'Gladiator' is considered one of the inspirations for Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's iconic character Superman.

Brother of Max Wylie.

His niece, Janice Wylie, was one of the two girls brutally murdered in an apartment on New York's Upper East Side on August 28, 1963 in what became known as The Career Girls Murder.
