Fleur Ferris’s children’s book, which was released in 2019, follows Janomi, a fairy that is forbidden to talk to humans. When her grandfather, the king of the fairy colony, is captured by silver spiders, she desperately needs help. She places her trust in ten-year-old country kid Gemma and tells her she must keep the fairies’ existence a secret. But when Gemma’s school rival, Nina, steals the secretly recorded footage of Janomi and uploads it onto YouTube, a media frenzy explodes in sleepy Nullaboo.
Lepeniotis’s 2014 feature The Nut Job, featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, Brendan Fraser and Katherine Heigl, scored more than $120M at the box office.

The latest fight between a Hollywood star and a Republican came this weekend between Ron Perlman and Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, after the pro-Trump politician condemned the U.S. Soccer Federation for removing a requirement for players to stand during the national anthem.
But Gaetz’s attempt to clap back at the “Hellboy” star backfired after he attempted to suggest Perlman was a hypocrite for opposing racism even though he played a villainous motorcycle gang leader on FX’s “Sons of Anarchy.”
Gaetz said on Twitter this past week that he was planning to write a bill forcing athletes on Ussf teams to stand during the anthem. Some U.S. Soccer players such as two-time World Cup champion Megan Rapinoe have made headlines in the past for kneeling during the traditional pre-match playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

The band 3 Doors Down apparently came to one woman's rescue during their recent concert in Bloomfield, Color. Per a tweet by lead guitar player Chris Henderson, frontman Brad Arnold kicked a concertgoer out of the venue after he witnessed the man allegedly hit a woman in the audience. Henderson also posted video in addition to his tweet with the caption, "Brad telling someone to not hit a woman! Just another reason I'm proud to be in this band!!" In the clip (which is Nsfw), the band's performance comes to a screeching halt before Arnold yells at the man and calls him out in front of the entire audience. "Hang on, hang on—hey. Whoa, whoa, whoa" he can...

Though movie culture in Brooklyn has recently grown prominent, the borough's cinematic vitality wasn't always this strong. In 2007, when the Galapagos Art Space was located in the borough's Williamsburgh neighborhood, a bunch of friends with ties to the now-defunct Reel Life video store -- including the program's current producer Chris Henderson -- got together to host a movie night at Galapagos. The night, called Moviehouse, would show a cult movie and throw a short film from a local filmmaker in front of it. When Galapagos moved to Brooklyn's Dumbo neighborhood that year, Moviehouse moved to the collaboration and education space 3rd Ward, where they dropped the Hollywood cult feature and focused on interesting short film programs, often paired with work in other fields -- specifically comedy and dance -- to create innovative programming that fills a niche. Now, Moviehouse tries to do as many outdoor or public projections as...

Denver -- As the horror unfolded for police first on the scene of the Colorado theater massacre, the officers repeatedly sent out urgent pleas for more ambulances even as a two-man crew and their rig were idling just a few miles away.
Radio traffic from last Friday's shooting in Aurora, Colo., showed emergency personnel struggling to grasp both the scope of the tragedy and mobilize a response.
While some ambulances were quickly called to duty, it took dispatchers more than 20 minutes into the crisis to ask the Cunningham Fire Protection District and other nearby agencies to provide aid at the multiplex in suburban Denver.
By the time the Cunningham crew arrived, it was more than a half hour after authorities got first word that a gunman opened fire at a packed midnight showing of the new Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises," killing 12 people and injuring dozens of others.

On Saturday, officials planned to enter the supposedly booby-trapped apartment of James Holmes, the man who allegedly gunned down 12 people and injured scores more at a Friday (July 20) midnight showing of the latest Batman installment, "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colorado.
Bomb experts will enter the third-floor apartment where the 24-year-old Holmes allegedly stockpiled ammunition and left a trip-wired explosive of some sort designed to injure and kill police officers.
"It's a pretty extensive booby trap. We're not sure what it's attached to," deputy fire chief Chris Henderson tells the Associated Press. "There are trip wires. There are three containers and we don't know what's inside."

Authorities may resort to a controlled detonation. The building and surrounding area have already been evacuated to prevent any potential harm to neighbors.
Pictures taken inside Holmes' apartment show jars full of ammunition and unidentified liquids.

3 Doors Down founding member and guitarist Matt Roberts has left the rock band because of health problems. The band took to its official site to announce the news.
“3 Doors Down will always have a special place in my heart and it saddens me to take this time off,” said Roberts in his official statement. “But my health has to be my first priority.”
According to the statement, Roberts has problems with blood circulation and other health issues. The release called the split amicable.
Roberts grew up with bassist Todd Harrell and lead singer Brad Arnold in Mississippi. Together, they formed the band in 1996. 3 Doors Down rose to international fame with their debut single, "Kryptonite", which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2000.
“Matt is our brother and he will always be a part of this band and he will always be welcomed back with open arms,” said Arnold.

Turns out it's six down and none to go, "Secret Circle" fans. At least for the pilot.
Sources confirm to Zap2it exclusively that the character Doug Henderson has been removed from the CW pilot.
In the original pilot script (penned by Andrew Miller), Doug is part of the seven-member coven of witches which the pilot focuses on. He's a football player who was bumped from up from third-string to starting quarterback thanks to the coven's powers. In January, "The Vampire Diaries'" showrunner and executive producer Kevin Williamson was brought in to rewrite Miller's script and soon the project was picked up to pilot. Fast forward to March and Doug is no longer in the pilot script.
So does this mean the character is gone from the project for good? Put down the spell books, "Tsc" fans. We're told it's simply too early to tell as the pilot (which...

"The Secret Circle" has quickly become The CW's most-buzzed about pilot in recent weeks. First, "The Vampire Diaries" co-creator Kevin Williamson came on-board to write the pilot script and executive produce. The hype only increased when "Life Unexpected's" Britt Robertson was cast in an unknown role.
Zap2it has obtained casting sides for the supernatural show, which centers on a young girl moving to New Salem, Maine, and learning she is a member of a secret coven of witches. She is also the key that will unlock a centuries-old battle of good versus evil. You know, typical teenage girl problems.

The release date has been moved around a bit, but it seems R. Kelly has settled on Dec. 1 for his "Untitled" album to appear. The set was recorded in Chicago and Atlanta, with producers Infinity, Lil Ronnie and Chris Henderson. One slight albatross around the waist for its holiday arrival, however, is the less-that-number-one start of the set's first single, "Number One." The track made some impact on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, humping its way into the top 10, but it climaxed at No. 68 on The Hot 100. Frankly, you're kind of asking for an uphill battle if...
