Veteran actress Sudhaa Chandran has heaped praise on child actor Mahi Bhanushali for her transformation into the character of Bhola in the show ‘Doree’ and said that it is a challenge for her to portray a boy being a girl.
The narrative showcases the clash between Doree’s progressive ideas and the orthodox thoughts of Kailashi Devi Thakur, played by Sudhaa.
Currently, to revive Doree’s father Agni’s memories, she has transformed herself into a boy named Bhola.
Sudhaa praised the little actor and said: “It’s a very interesting turn in the story with Bhola’s sequence. People believe that Doree is dead, but she has transformed her appearance and returned as Bhola to evoke memories of her father.”
“She is performing outstandingly well; it’s a challenge for her to portray a boy while being a girl. This pretty girl has adopted a de-glamorised look to find her Baba.

Bhool Bhulaiya 2
Starring Tabu, Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, Rajpal Yadav
Directed by Anees Bazmi
You know what you are getting into when you sign up for this. So you might as well lie back and enjoy it. Bhool Bhulaiya 2 proceeds with the same line of thought that has manoeuvred Anees Bazmi’s mirth yatra through decades of lowbrow entertainment.
Bazmi is a direct descendent of Priyadarshan’s school of comedy: a huge unwieldy cast brought into a kind of tightly-knit control by a writing that invites buffoonery and incites titters from the audience.
Ask anyone why they have so much fun in a Bazmi burlesque, and they will tell you, it’s because it isn’t taken to be taken seriously. Neither is a monkey doing tricks at the roadside. Even ‘serious’ actor Tabu dips into the droll drum with lipsmacking relish. Without giving away too much of the plot,...

Kaagaz (Zee5)
Directed by Satish Kaushik
Kaagaz tells a very peculiar and poignant story of a man from Uttar Pradesh who spent 18 years of his life proving that he was alive. Unfortunately a bigger tragedy than the one that befalls Lal Bihari strikes this well-intended film on his life.
Kaagaz is peculiar but not the least poignant. Director Satish Kaushik with all his experience in theatre and cinema, fails to invoke any real sympathy in us for Lal Bihari who for all practical purposes, is dead on governmental paper. If we feel no real sympathy for Lal Bihari it isn’t our fault. Kaushik starts off the story as one of monstrous bureaucratic bungling and then takes the tragedy into the dangerous territory of farce with Lal Bihari making evey effort to get arrested so that the ensuing Fir would prove he’s alive.

Last year, throughout Bigg Boss Season 5, megastar host Salman Khan was blamed for recommending and then being biased and partial to his so-called ‘friend’ Mahek Chahal on the reality show. Though Mahek and Salman repeatedly denied the allegations, the media seemed to be in no mood to agree.
Strangely, one by one, all Wild Card entries including Akashdeep Sky Saigal, Siddharth Bhardwaj and Amar Upadhyay, plus ousted contestants like Shakti Kapoor, Vida Samadzai, Pooja Misrra and Pooja Bedi started speaking openly to the media about Salman’s partiality towards Mahek. Ultimately the poor girl lost credibility, making her an unlikely contender to win the finals.
Now with the launch of Bigg Boss 6, it seems the controversies claiming Salman’s bias towards his so-called ‘friends’ is making a comeback. An article in Daily Bhaskar has alleged that Salman has recommended and is favouring contestant Niketan Madhok in Bigg Boss 6.
