“Outer Range,” TV’s craziest sci-fi Western, is finally coming back for Season 2. On Monday, on the two-year anniversary of the series premiere, Prime Video dropped a trailer for the new season, which arrives on May 16.
“Outer Range” stars Josh Brolin as Royal Abbott, a Wyoming rancher who is having problems holding on to his land and his family. One day, he finds a mysterious hole on his property that might be some sort of portal through time. So now he has another, even bigger problem.
According to Amazon, Season 2 “propels its characters deeper into the void with profound and unforeseen circumstances that could shake the very foundations of time itself.” The trailer is packed with wild imagery, like Autumn (Imogen Poots) eating some black mineral dust and then her eyes turning the same color, and even wilder dialogue, like Royal Abbott musing about how it’s impossible to know...

Two years after it premiered, one of our favorite shows of 2022, “The Outer Range” returns this summer (read our review). Something of an unusual but welcome mix of “Yellowstone” family drama and existential “X-Files” sci-fi, “Outer Range” star Josh Brolin as a rancher in Wyoming fighting for his land and his family, who discovers something unfathomable on its outskirts. Brolin also makes his directorial debut with season two’s penultimate episode

A revival of ’90s hit “Melrose Place” is in the works at CBS Studios, with original stars Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton set to return, TheWrap has learned.
The Darren Star-created night-time soap followed the complicated lives of several 20-somethings who lived in a Los Angeles apartment complex called Melrose Place, where the drama included a bombing, a drowning and a “Dynasty”-esque pool fight.
Locklear played advertising exec Amanda Woodward, whose addition to the show late in the first season helped boost ratings at the time. Zuniga played Jo Reynolds on the series from 1992 to 1999 while Leighton played Sydney Andrews, sister of Josie Bassett’s character Jane.
Lauren Gussis of “Dexter” and “Insatiable” fame is set to write and executive produce the revival, which would see the “Og residents” returning when one of their friends die. Per the logline, the reunion “uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances,...

This post contains spoilers for Season 2 of "Reacher."
The penultimate episode of "Reacher" season 2 ends on a cliffhanger, where Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) makes an impossible choice: he walks straight into the lion's den to save his dear friends. Things haven't been rosy for Reacher and his pals since the new season's inception, as the catalyst for the group banding together was the death of their mutual friend, Calvin Franz (Luke Bilyk), who served alongside them in the 110th Special Investigations Unit.
At the end of season 1, we see Reacher leaving Margrave to continue his wandering lifestyle, but the nature of this new case forces him to contend with his self-inflicted loneliness and tendency to keep people at bay. With his friends' lives on the line, Reacher must completely embrace his maverick spirit and throw a comically evil dude out of a helicopter to avenge his dead friends. This post contains spoilers for "Reacher" season 2, episode 7.
Jack Reacher has never been one to abide by the rules. In Lee Child's "Persuader," the seventh novel in the "Jack Reacher" series, Reacher goes out of his way to work for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to crack down on a trafficker, deliberately breaking a handful of official rules just to do the right thing. This kernel of dogged perseverance has always been an integral part of Reacher's personality in every iteration of his character, and "Reacher" season 2 continues this tradition by allowing him to break the rules yet again.
In "Reacher" season 2's seventh and penultimate episode, Reacher and his team — his colleagues at the 110th Special Investigations Unit years ago — are backed against the wall thanks to the machinations of Shane Langston (Robert Patrick) and the elusive A.M. Ask Alan Ritchson which action hero's footsteps Jack Reacher follows in, and the answer might surprise you: this week, the "Reacher" star told Variety that he thinks his hulking, skull-knocking do-gooder shares some DNA with Harrison Ford action heroes of decades past. Why? Both men tend to grumble their way through their action scenes as if they're spitting mad at the idea of having to pause whatever they were already doing that day to kick some butt.

Variety cites both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone as two '80s stars whose work the actor admires, but Ford brings something different to the table, a quality that Jack Reacher has too. This post contains spoilers for "Reacher" season 2, episode 4.
When Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) first arrives in Margrave in the pilot of "Reacher," he meets Oscar Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin), the Chief Detective of the Margrave Police Department, who is investigating the same murder case Reacher wants to solve. Sporting wildly contrasting philosophies, Reacher and Finlay do not get along too well initially but decide to become allies throughout the series, with Finlay coming in clutch and saving Reacher heroically towards the end. As Finlay is one of the few characters who maintain a deep bond with Reacher, fans anticipated his return in the newest season, despite the narrative's massive time jump and the decision to adapt "Bad Luck and Trouble", the 11th book in the "Jack Reacher" series.
"Reacher" season 2, episode 4 deepens the shadow of doubt surrounding Tony Swan (Shannon Kook), one of Reacher's colleagues who served in the 110th Special Investigations Unit several years ago.

Exclusive: Reacher Season 2 has been crowned No. 1 at Amazon.
The first three episodes of the second season debuted on December 15 and quickly resonated with audiences. In fact, those episodes surpassed the entire Season 1 audience by 50% in the first three days on the streamer.
Reacher is now the No. 1 title of the year for Prime Video in terms of total viewers across all series and films globally. Currently, the series is available in more than 180 countries.
Season 1 already seemed like a home run for Amazon, racking up 1.84B minutes viewed across all eight episodes in the U.S. (which were released all at once) during its premiere weekend in March 2022, according to Nielsen streaming data. Since Nielsen only measures domestically, that wouldn’t give an indication of how the series is performing internationally.

[This story contains mild spoilers to the three-episode premiere of season two of Reacher.]
During the three-episode opener of Reacher’s season two premiere, audiences found the nomadic muscle-bound former leader of an elite military unit in Lee Child’s best-selling novels trying to live the same discreet unnoticeable life as best as a 6-foot-5 Herculean-framed man could do.
All Jack Reacher, played by Alan Ritchson, wants to do is stay to himself, explore America, and quietly observe the compulsions and actions of everyday people. It’s not really his desire to socialize or get involved in the lives of others, but as the first episode of season two confirms, his code of what is right and wrong won’t let the former military officer sit back when he sees a crime in progress. In this case, he senses a woman nervously taking money out of an Atm machine to deliver to a carjacker, who is holding her child hostage down the street.

Of all the shows airing these days, it doesn't seem fair to criticize "Reacher" for its lack of realism. Like the books before it, the Amazon TV series is a wish-fulfillment fantasy series for middle-aged dads (which is not to suggest other people don't love it too) and is not intended to hold up to a thorough fact-checking. Audiences love Jack Reacher because there's something inherently appealing about his lack of life commitments and his ability to beat up and outsmart any bad guy who crosses his path; it's not because they genuinely find it believable that Reacher would uncover a mass criminal conspiracy on an annual basis.
That said, author Lee Child still did his due diligence with Reacher's military background, and so did the writers for the "Reacher" TV series. The first three episodes of season 2 put a lot of focus on Reacher's time as the leader of...

When it comes to red carpet interviews, one minute is fair, three minutes is great and 10 minutes, well, that just never happens. Alan Ritchson generously proved to be an exception to the rule on Wednesday night when the Reacher star spent a chunk of time speaking with The Hollywood Reporter inside L.A.’s Culver Theater, on the eve of the season two debut of his Prime Video series.
It’s a miracle he had any time to spare. Two weeks ahead of the season two premiere on Dec. 15, Amazon confirmed it had renewed the series for a third season, which is currently filming. Hot on the heels of that news, the studio confirmed that the 41-year-old had inked a multiyear first-look film deal with his AllyCat Entertainment through Amazon MGM Studios. It’s no surprise they locked him down after Reacher became Prime Video’s most watched original series...

This post contains spoilers for season 2 of "Reacher."
Jack Reacher is back -- it even says so on the hilarious season 2 poster -- with a new mystery to solve in "Reacher" season 2. And by his calculations, it's been two years, seven months, and 19 days since we last saw him. Season 1 of the popular Prime Video show ended with the military special investigator turned hobo by choice (Alan Ritchson) leaving Margrave, Georgia, where he had just gotten to the bottom of a string of murders that left his brother dead. This time around, Reacher's reuniting with his old squad to figure out who's tossing their colleagues out of planes.
In terms of the source material, season 1 of "Reacher" adapted the first Jack Reacher novel, Lee Child's "Killing Floor," while season 2 zooms ahead to the eleventh book in the series, "Bad Luck and Trouble." Given Reacher's drifter lifestyle and knack for...

Plot: Reacher is pulled from his vagabond life by a coded message informing him that a member of the 110th – his elite group of Army Special Investigators – has been murdered. He and some of his former military cohorts reunite to investigate and soon realize the case is bigger than they ever could have imagined.
Review: After two feature films starring Tom Cruise, the Prime Video version of Reacher brought Alan Richtson into the title role to personify the physical stature of Lee Child’s vision for the character. The first season of Reacher was not quite a mystery and not quite an action series but was closer to the novels than Cruise’s take on the tale. Fans took to the new Reacher, and a second season was ordered early, with a third on the way before the sophomore run even debuted. The Boys Season 4 has a trailer. After the end of Gen V Season 1, we've been dying to know what would become of some of our favorite characters.
Of course, we will have plenty of lingering questions from The Boys Season 3 to be answered.
The highly-anticipated footage introduced Jeffrey Dean Morgan into The Boys universe.
Prime Video is keeping details about his character under wraps, but the footage certainly gives us some indication of what he's like.
He seemingly knows who Butcher is, but he doesn't know the show's name -- or the group he may or may not be about to work with.
"Your team, what's your code name again?" Morgan's character says.
