The unsolved murder of JonBenét Ramsey has taken a dramatic turn after the release of Netflix’s viral documentary, Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey.
The three-part series, which delves into the tragic 1996 killing of the six-year-old beauty queen, has reignited public interest.
This prompted fresh developments in the nearly three-decade-old investigation.
The Boulder Police Department, criticized for handling the initial case, has committed to renewed efforts under newly appointed Police Chief Steve Redfearn.
Since assuming his role in early 2024, Redfearn has prioritized solving the high-profile cold case, which has long been a black mark on the department.
“We are committed to following every lead, working with DNA experts, and partnering with law enforcement across the country,” Redfearn said in a recent statement, per The New York Post.
“The killing of JonBenét was an unspeakable crime, and this tragedy has never left our hearts.”

Geraldo Rivera is taking partial accountability for the role he played in bolstering public suspicion that John and Patsy Ramsey were responsible for the 1996 murder of their 6-year-old daughter, JonBenét.
John and Rivera appeared live together, via Zoom, on Monday night for a NewsNation segment facilitated by host Chris Cuomo (below) following the Nov. 25 release of the three-part Netflix docuseries Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey. Episode two of Joe Berlinger’s docuseries revisited the memorable mock trial that played out on The Geraldo Rivera Show in 1997, where Rivera asked a volunteer jury of six men and women to “rule” on the likelihood that John and/or Patsy allegedly murdered their daughter. Testimonies pointed to what were deemed to be sexually suggestive photos and videos of JonBenét as unsubstantiated proof that she was an abused child, resulting in a mock verdict that found Patsy liable for her death.

One week after the release of Netflix’s Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey docuseries, the Boulder Police Department is responding to claims that it failed to properly investigate the 1996 murder of the 6-year-old pageant queen that remains unsolved nearly 30 years later.
“The killing of JonBenét was an unspeakable crime and this tragedy has never left our hearts,” Boulder Police Chief Steve Redfearn said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter via Boulder Police Department Public Information Officer Dionne Waugh. “We are committed to following up on every lead and we are continuing to work with DNA experts and our law enforcement partners around the country until this tragic case is solved. Nearly three decades ago, the world came across the devastating news of the death of the child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey at the age of only 6. After seven hours after her being reported missing, her body was found in the basement of her home at 755, 15th Street in Boulder, Colorado. That was when the world came crashing down on the Ramsey family.
Since then, there has been a lot of debate on how this case, which was later ruled out to be a homicide, took place. But more spotlight was on the child beauty queen’s parents, American beauty pageant winner Patricia Ann Ramsey aka Patsy Ramsey, and businessman John Ramsey. The pair have, since, been the center of a lot, staying the talk of the town for quite some time.

Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey isn’t so much about proving who is responsible for the death of the 6-year-old beauty pageant winner who was found strangled in the basement of her Boulder, Colorado, family home on Dec. 26, 1996, as it is showing who isn’t: her parents, Patsy and John Bennett Ramsey, and her older brother, Burke Ramsey.
“A lot of shows try to play both sides of the fence, and although we clearly in episode one talk about the case against them, we then in episode two show what we really think is going on,” executive producer and Oscar-nominated director Joe Berlinger tells The Hollywood Reporter of the three-part Netflix docuseries, now streaming. “I think we can solve the case. On December 25, 1996, JonBenét Ramsey, six, was discovered dead in the basement of her family’s Boulder, Colorado, home. The finding occurred just hours after her parents reported her missing, sparking a high-profile inquiry. JonBenét, a young beauty queen, was brutally murdered, with evidence indicating strangling and blunt force trauma.
The initial police response, however, was disorganized—friends and family were permitted to explore the premises, potentially jeopardizing critical evidence. Despite years of investigation, the case remains unsolved, and theories about her death continue to circulate.
Mistakes were made during the investigation into JonBenét’s death. Police did not secure the crime scene, which allowed potential evidence to be tampered with. Suspicion rapidly fell on her parents, John and Patsy Ramsey.
Still, without substantial evidence, theories fluctuated between family conspiracy and an unknown invader. The lack of definitive forensic evidence and the media frenzy exacerbated the mystery and left more questions than answers.

On Dec. 26, 1996, John and Patsy Ramsey awoke to a nightmare. Their younger child, 6-year-old JonBenét Ramsey, was missing, with a chilling ransom note left behind. The day took a devastating turn when John Ramsey discovered JonBenét’s lifeless body in the basement, revealing the horrifying truth that she had been sexually assaulted and brutally murdered within the supposed safety of her own home. The Boulder police, inexperienced in handling homicide investigations, quickly turned their suspicions toward the Ramsey family, igniting a media frenzy that painted them as the prime suspects. This one-sided reporting fueled a national obsession, casting a long shadow over the case that remains unsolved 28 years later.

This post contains discussions of sexual assault of a minor. The murder of JonBenét Ramsey is one of the most infamous unsolved cases in American history, and Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey aims to discover both why it was such a point of fascination and where the investigation went wrong. In the three-part docuseries, which premiered on Netflix on November 25, members of the police, media, and Ramsey’s own family — including her father — speak out about the events of December 26, 1996, when she was found murdered in her home, and everything that transpired afterward. Here are the biggest revelations in the special. The police didn’t search the basement. Of the many accusations of professional malfeasance on the part of the Boulder Police Department in this docuseries, perhaps the most shocking is that they didn’t search the entire house after Patsy Ramsey reported her daughter missing from the home.

The murder of JonBenét Ramsey is back in the news due to a new Netflix docuseries, but two people who won’t be tuning in to the series are the current occupants of the infamous house in Boulder, Colorado. According to TMZ, Carol Schuller Milner and her husband, Timothy Milner, who own the property where JonBenét was murdered in 1996, were approached by the producers of Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey? but passed on the project. “We want nothing to do with the exploitation of that poor family,” Carol told the outlet, noting that she and her husband have turned down several Hollywood offers over the years, including one from Dr. Phil and another worth seven figures. Carol also touched on the potential of increased interest in the house following the release of the new docuseries, which premiered on Monday, November 25. She told TMZ she isn’t too worried about...

Could the New Netflix JonBenét Ramsey Docuseries Lead to an Arrest? Director Joe Berlinger Thinks So
The unresolved case of JonBenét Ramsey has been the subject of countless documentaries and dramatic television retellings throughout the last 28 years. The latest content about the case is Netflix’s “Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey” — a three-part docuseries about the 6-year-old child beauty queen who was brutally murdered on Dec. 26, 1996, in Boulder, Colo.
JonBenét’s parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, woke up the morning after Christmas in 1996 and discovered a ransom note in their kitchen. Later that same day, John Ramsey found his daughter’s body in the basement, revealing that JonBenét had not been kidnapped but was instead sexually assaulted and killed in the family home. Soon after, the Boulder police, who had little experience in homicide investigations, quickly turned their suspicions toward the Ramsey family, igniting a media frenzy that painted JonBenét’s parents as the prime suspects.

JonBenét Ramsey’s father believes he knows who killed his six-year-old daughter in 1996, despite 28 years and the unsolved murder’s long list of suspects.
Ramsey, a beauty pageant contestant, was found dead in her family’s basement in Boulder, Colorado on Christmas morning, alongside a threatening hand-written ransom note. She died from strangulation and a blow to the skull. The list of suspects for her murder has famously been extensive, with her parents and brother even making the list. Her former teacher, John Mark Kerr, confessed to killing her in 2006, but he was never charged in connection with the murder.
Ramsey’s father, John, is still asking for police to investigate the case and find Ramsey’s murderer. He told The Today Show on Thursday, “There have been horrible failures… but I believe it can be solved if police accept help from outside their system. That’s been their flaw.

JonBenét Ramsey‘s father, John Ramsey, has a theory as to who murdered his daughter in 1996, but he says police “blew it off.” There has been a long list of suspects over the years when it comes to who killed the then six-year-old beauty pageant contestant, including JonBenét’s parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, her then nine-year-old brother, Burke, convicted pedophile Gary Oliva, and former teacher John Mark Kerr. However, John believes one suspect stands out above the rest. Speaking to People ahead of the new Netflix docuseries Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey, which premieres on Monday, November 25, John pointed to a masked intruder who snuck into a home in Boulder, Colorado, nine months after JonBenét’s murder and raped a 12-year-old girl. “To me, it could easily have been the same person,” Ramsey told the outlet. “The police blew it off as, ‘No, it’s not the same.

Prime Video’s Alex Cross brought James Patterson’s iconic detective to life, with Aldis Hodge stepping into the shoes of the brilliant and tormented investigator. Season 1 was packed with jaw-dropping twists, haunting villains, and plenty of mysteries that kept viewers guessing. Now, as we gear up for Season 2, let’s break down some of the biggest moments from the first season and what they might mean for what’s next.
What’s the Deal With Ramsey’s Creepy Mask?
One of the standout elements of Season 1 was Ed Ramsey, played by Ryan Eggold, and his unsettling mask. Every time Ramsey spoke to his online followers, he wore a bizarre mask of an ordinary-looking man—but it’s way creepier than it sounds.
Creator Ben Watkins explained that the mask was a nod to Ramsey’s dark inspiration: a real-life serial killer from Indiana who terrified people when Ramsey was a kid.

After playing the very likable Dr. Max Goodwin for five seasons of “New Amsterdam,” Ryan Eggold was ready to jump into something new. While “not necessarily looking for something darker,” Eggold was intrigued when “Cross” showrunner Ben Watkins came to him with serial killer Ed “Fanboy” Ramsey.
“It’s been a while since I played a villain, and I’d certainly never played anything this psychopathic, masochistic, detached and cold,” he tells Variety. “My initial impressions of him were just that kind of ‘American Psycho’ vibes, American exceptionalism to an unhealthy psychotic degree, and sort of this amazing representation of greed and power, and being hungry for power. The kind of person who’s capable of manipulating other people without remorse, without empathy — certainly reflective of certain figures we see today.”

It’s been almost 30 years, but the search for answers in the murder case of then-6-year-old JonBenét Ramsey has never stopped. Now, a new Netflix docuseries aims to get to the bottom of the investigation and find out where it all went wrong — and shed light on the impact the media scrutiny had upon the two surviving members of the Ramsey family. Here’s what to know about Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey. When does the docuseries premiere? Netflix will debut all three 50-minute episodes of the docuseries on Monday, November 25. What should audiences know about the new docuseries? The logline for the docuseries is as follows: “On December 26, 1996, John and Patsy Ramsey woke up the morning after a loving family Christmas to discover their youngest child, six-year-old JonBenét, was missing, a chilling ransom note left downstairs. Later that day, John Ramsey discovered his daughter’s body in the basement,...

The rise of quality video game adaptations has been an unexpected, but welcome surprise for fans. HBO’s The Last of Us has been widely celebrated for its emotional depth and strong performances, particularly from Pedro Pascal as Joel. But it might not be the pinnacle of video game adaptations.

The new detective show Cross on Amazon Prime Video is making waves in the TV world with its unique take on the police procedural genre. The show’s creative writing has garnered both praise and criticism.
Detective Alex Cross is the main character of the show. He is after a complicated serial killer named Ed Ramsey, who is also known as the “Fanboy Killer.” Ramsey’s one-of-a-kind method involves reenacting killings that famous serial killers have done. This turns criminal history into a dreadful form of performance art.
In a very disturbing plot twist, the show uses the true story of Aileen Wuornos, a killer who was put to death in 2002. Ramsey tries to reenact Wuornos’ story with his last victim, Shannon, and even plans to kill her in the same way that Wuornos did.
Wuornos was found guilty of killing seven men between 1989 and 1990, but she said she did...

Amazon Prime Video has recently added a new crime thriller series to its library, named Cross, which happens to be another screen adaptation of James Patterson’s “Alex Cross” novels. While the previous adaptations have all been films, Prime’s new effort is a series stretching over eight hour-long episodes, a couple of which could have very well been done without. The plot is centered around the titular police detective, Alex Cross, who has to catch a dangerously intelligent serial killer while also having to deal with his personal trauma linked to the murder of his beloved wife. Overall, Cross is worth a watch because of its strong performances and production value but does not offer anything unique to make for a noteworthy viewing experience.

Cross premiered Nov. 14 on Prime Video. The streamer’s new detective thriller is based on James Patterson’s best-selling series of novels about a Washington, D.C. detective/forensic psychologist. Aldis Hodge stars in the title role in the fast-paced, twisty series.
Over the show’s eight episodes, Alex Cross faced personal and professional challenges as he attempted to untangle a series of baffling crimes, several of which hit uncomfortably close to home. First, there was a series of disturbing crimes committed by a murderer determined to pay homage to some of history’s most notorious serial killers. At the same time, Cross was also coping with the seemingly random murder of Maria, his wife and the mother of two children. But it eventually emerged that someone was specifically targeting Cross and his family. That person’s identity was revealed in the finale, and to say it was a shock would be an understatement.

There was a lot going on in the eight episodes of Cross season 1. None of the episodes disappointed, and neither did the outcomes of the storylines.
Caution: This post contains Spoilers for Cross season 1.
The first season brought us two murders/cases to get to the bottom of. The first was the murder of Alex Cross’s wife. The second was figuring out who the Fanboy Killer was.

By the halfway mark, Alex had already worked out who the Fanboy Killer was. He knew it was Ryan Eggold’s Ramsey, but he couldn’t prove it. As he would get closer, Ramsey would be steps ahead of it. Because of Ramsey, Cross lost his badge and reputation. That didn’t stop him from searching,...

When we heard there was going to be another adaptation of the Alex Cross novels by James Patterson, I think a few of us worried. Nobody has quite managed to capture the man we saw Cross as in the books. Well, Aldis Hodge has done it in the Prime Video series Cross.
Caution: There are some Spoilers for Cross season 1 in this post.
All eight episodes of the first season are now available. I had high hopes once I saw Amazon renew the series way ahead of its premiere. It meant that the hype was good and the execs were impressed with the series. It gave me feelings that I had with the likes of Jack Ryan and Reacher.
Amazon hasn’t disappointed. The show is powerful, and it takes us on plenty of twists and turns. Even knowing who Alex and the cops are after for the main case...

What’s next for Alex Cross? Prime Video’s new series Cross ended with a dramatic season finale that neatly tied up the season’s two primary mysteries. But the door is open for more stories featuring the detective/forensic psychologist. After all, he’s been featured in more than 30 novels by James Patterson, who created the character in his 1993 book Along Came the Spider.
Can’t get enough Alex Cross after binging Cross? Well, we have good news for fans who were sucked in by the new show.

Though Cross was just released, Prime Video is convinced it will be a hit.

Netflix is keen on reopening the door to a case that’s been abandoned for many years despite no justice being achieved.
While the story of JonBenét Ramsey’s brutal 1996 murder made the rounds in the media at the time, the police’s missteps unwittingly meant that the real murderer got away with the crime.
Coming from Academy Award–nominated director Joe Berlinger, the Netflix show will shed light on how the Boulder Police’s inexperience in handling homicide investigations meant that JonBenét didn’t get her justice.

A new partnership aims to bring more diversity and cross-cultural storytelling to animation. N Lite Media, an American animation studio, has teamed up with Japanese company Gonzo K.K. and director Peter Ramsey to produce two projects. The goal is to combine the talents of a Black-owned U.S. studio and a respected Japanese anime producer.
The first project is called “Ripper.” It is set in post-wwii Japan and follows two detectives hunting a serial killer. The film blends live-action and anime styles. It tells the story of two men seeking justice for the women they loved who were murdered. The film’s creators want to explore the shared history between Black Americans and Japanese during the war. Ramsey said the project is “deeply personal” and will cover an important cultural intersection rarely seen on screen.

Game of Thrones has certainly has some problematic moments without us even getting into the ending. Some scenes just haven’t aged well. Some didn’t seem too bad at first, but as time has passed, we’re seeing more and more issues. Here are seven that stand out as the worst ones for me.
Daenerys being lifted up by the freed slaves in Yunkai
Daenerys Targaryen's journey through Essos was slow, but there were some important moments to show her character development. We had to see her grow in confidence and see how she would lead her people. That led to her freeing the enslaved people in the city of Yunkai.
There is a moment where she’s lifted up by a sea of people. It’s her pale white body up against all these nameless brown people, immediately causing a problem. The White Savior complex is one that...

Francis Ford Coppola’s next epic is here, and he’s amassed a pretty huge cast to bring it to life. And odds are, you’re going to recognize quite a few of those faces.
Now in theaters, “Megalopolis” is a modern retelling of the Roman Empire, starring Adam Driver as the man who’s trying to build it. Cesar Catalina (Driver) has a vision for a utopia built with a brand new element that he discovered and won a Nobel prize for. But not everyone wants to see him succeed in doing so.
It’s a pretty thick plot, so we won’t pick that apart here. For now, we’re just going to help you place some of those faces on screen.
Here are all the major players in Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis.”
