Now, we’re learning more about the status of some of the stars, and whether they will return for season 2 of the show. Specifically, Ryan Eggold‘s Ed Ramsey has the biggest question mark about his return. Ryan led the way as season 1′s main villain, but ended the season in prison.

While the previous adaptations have all been films, Prime’s new effort is a series stretching over eight hour-long episodes, a couple of which could have very well been done without. The plot is centered around the titular police detective, Alex Cross, who has to catch a dangerously intelligent serial killer while also having to deal with his personal trauma linked to the murder of his beloved wife. Overall, Cross is worth a watch because of its strong performances and production value but does not offer anything unique to make for a noteworthy viewing experience.

Cross premiered Nov. 14 on Prime Video. The streamer’s new detective thriller is based on James Patterson’s best-selling series of novels about a Washington, D.C. detective/forensic psychologist. Aldis Hodge stars in the title role in the fast-paced, twisty series.

Over the show’s eight episodes, Alex Cross faced personal and professional challenges as he attempted to untangle a series of baffling crimes, several of which hit uncomfortably close to home. First, there was a series of disturbing crimes committed by a murderer determined to pay homage to some of history’s most notorious serial killers. At the same time, Cross was also coping with the seemingly random murder of Maria, his wife and the mother of two children. But it eventually emerged that someone was specifically targeting Cross and his family. That person’s identity was revealed in the finale, and to say it was a shock would be an understatement.

There was a lot going on in the eight episodes of Cross season 1. None of the episodes disappointed, and neither did the outcomes of the storylines.

‘Cross’ Season 2 is coming to Prime Video

All eight episodes of Cross premiered Nov. 14 on Prime Video. Aldis Hodge plays the title character. Other cast members include Isaiah Mustafa, Melody Hurd, Caleb Elijah, Jennifer Wigmore, Juanita Jennings, Ryan Eggold, Johnny Ray Gill, Eloise Mumford, Alona Tal, and Samantha Walkes.

Though Cross was just released, Prime Video is convinced it will be a hit.

Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey traces the pageant princess’s murder along with how law enforcement and the media are alleged to have mishandled the case. Joe Berlinger, who worked on Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills, directs the docuseries, which releases Nov. 25.

A new partnership aims to bring more diversity and cross-cultural storytelling to animation. N Lite Media, an American animation studio, has teamed up with Japanese company Gonzo K.K. and director Peter Ramsey to produce two projects. The goal is to combine the talents of a Black-owned U.S. studio and a respected Japanese anime producer.

The first project is called “Ripper.” It is set in post-wwii Japan and follows two detectives hunting a serial killer. The film blends live-action and anime styles. It tells the story of two men seeking justice for the women they loved who were murdered. The film’s creators want to explore the shared history between Black Americans and Japanese during the war. Ramsey said the project is “deeply personal” and will cover an important cultural intersection rarely seen on screen.

N Lite animation studio has unveiled a new partnership with Emmy-winning Japanese anime studio Gonzo K.K. (“Afro Samurai”) and Oscar-winning “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” director Peter Ramsey to produce two animated projects: a noir thriller feature titled “Ripper” and the sci-fi adventure series “Hotaru.”

Ramsey is lined up to executive produce and co-write the screenplay for “Ripper,” a live-action/anime hybrid feature set in post-wwii Japan. Currently in development, the film tells the story of two detectives hunting down a serial killer who took the lives of the women that each of them loved. The project is created by Samantha Inoue Harte and co-writers Paul Alvarado-Dykstra and Rafael Antonio Ruiz.

Exclusive: The death of JonBenét Ramsey, the child beauty queen who was killed in her family home in Colorado, has dominated headlines for nearly 30 years.

Director Joe Berlinger is reopening the case in a new three-part series for Netflix.

The streamer has ordered Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey, which will revisit the case with fresh eyes and perspective and features interviews with key people from the crime and investigation, including JonBenét’s father, John Ramsey.

Berlinger has directed true-crime docs including Netflix’s Conversations with a Killer strand that has told the stories of Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer as well Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills. The latter is widely considered responsible for helping to get three teenagers – the West Memphis Three – out of jail in the case.

The Last of Us is one of the most popular and renowned stories ever told in a video game and the gaming community is more than happy to send Naughty Dog bills from their therapy sessions.
