Biography

Mark A Owen was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Mark Is an actor, known for Canada Russian (1972), Designated Survivor (2017) and The Hummingbird Project (2018). Over the course of Owen's career of 22+ years; he has been on numerous television series and films. He is best known to Canadian audiences for his lead role as Assistant coach "John Ferguson" in the miniseries Canada Russia '72 (2006). Having a strong athletic background helped Owen break into the movie business with stunt actor roles in the beginning. Owen played both Varsity and Junior A hockey and was scouted for Varsity football. Boxing, rugby and other sports rounded out an impressive athletic background. Owen's strong work ethic and perseverance as an athlete has followed him into the movie business allowing him to carve out some great roles over the years with a humble workmanlike attitude. A great character actor who continues to pursue and hone his craft as an actor in the competitive world of movie making.
