On the JoBlo Movies YouTube channel, we will be posting one full movie every day of the week, giving viewers the chance to watch them entirely free of charge. The Free Movie of the Day we’re getting this week started with is a very cool one, as it happens to star Oscar-winner Russell Crowe! Crowe was born in New Zealand and got his start working on Australian projects – and today’s free movie, the 1997 crime thriller Heaven’s Burning, was the last Australian production he worked on for almost twenty years. You can check it out over on the JoBlo Movies YouTube channel, or you can just watch it in the embed at the top of this article.
Directed by Craig Lahiff from a screenplay by Louis Nowra, Heaven’s Burning has the following synopsis:
Thrown together amid chaos and violence, a man and a woman stumble upon unexpected passion.

Although the name Bailee Madison may be relatively unknown to most people, the young actress has been acting since the age of seven. After playing having roles in Just Go With It, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark and on the kid TV show Wizards of Waverly Place, Madison is adding a staring role to her list, as Variety reports she has been cast in the indie romance-drama Watercolor Postcards.
Madison will be joined by Scrubs alum John C. McGinley in the project directed by Rajeev Dassani and written by Conrad Goode. The story is “centered on a smalltown girl, wise beyond her years, who returns home and inherits more problems than she brought back.” I was a big fan of McGinley‘s work on Scrubs, but I’ve noticed that he’s had a difficult time channeling that stardom to the big screen after having small parts in various movies over the years.

Rest your wallets easy, folks, as other than a couple of monster movies which previously aired on Syfy, this week's genre offerings are really slim pickings. We know you're just chomping at the bit to see yet another horrible retelling of the classic Beauty and the Beast story. This one stars Estella Warren, Rhett Giles, Victor Parascos, Vanessa Gray, Tony Bellette and Peter Cook. I mean, who wouldn't be, right?
Luckily, a couple of manga titles are dropping this week to help bring up the quality of entertainment, despite needing to read. Both are created by noted manga writers Kazue Kato and Arina Tanemura, who started their careers in their late teens.

Whoa, what a way to start the new year! After several weeks of desolate conditions in terms of horror title releases, the floodgate just burst open.
This is the week you may want to think about using up those giftcards and cash you got from returning your holiday presents. Major releases are vying for your greenbacks alongside re-releases in Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D (in case Santa brought you a 3D TV recently), and other more independent titles. In addition to movies, there's also a Buffy motion comic and the next volume of a vampire's diary in paperback.
The Last Exorcism (Review)

Starring Patrick Fabian (Interview), Ashley Bell, Louis Herthum, Tony Bentley
When he arrives on the rural Louisiana farm of Louis Sweetzer, the Reverend Cotton Marcus expects to perform just another routine “exorcism” on a disturbed religious fanatic. An earnest fundamentalist, Sweetzer has contacted the charismatic preacher as a last resort,...

Director: Kevin Carraway.
Writer: Kevin Carraway and Lawrence Sara.
Echo Bridge Entertainment is one of the biggest distributors of independent films in North America. The Fear Chamber was released by Echo April 27th on DVD. Now, the film makes its way to a local mailbox to be dissected here. Unfortunately, this gift might be best sent back to the sender. The central character in the film Nick Ferguson played by Rhett Giles is uncompelling and the acting of Ferguson in this feature is very poor. The lack of exterior sets, poor acting, and almost total absence of the killer from the early parts of picture makes the film unrecommendable.
The character Ferguson stumbles through scenes devoid of dialogue to the viewer's misfortune. If the character is going to be wandering around in an isolated locale at least give the guy some lines to work with. Everybody talks to themselves a little bit,...

Echo Bridge Entertainment has finalized a release date for suspenseful thriller The Fear Chamber. The film is also showing off a newer, higher quality look, with this second movie poster. The Fear Chamber involves a murderous surgeon who likes to remove the organs of young women. This is not a man you want to meet in a dark alley. The Fear Chamber will be available on DVD as of April 27th through DVD retailers and the cast is seasoned with some action genre veterans. Rhett Giles (Contract Killers), Richard Tyson (Black Hawk Down), and Steven Williams (La Heat) star in this gruesome tale. All the details available below, or at the Echo Bridge website.
A synopsis for The Fear Chamber:
"In Los Angeles, a serial killer is prowling the streets, murdering young, healthy women for their organs. Detective Nick Ferguson is not far behind in the trail of dead bodies,...

A new grisly thriller involving some very dark subject matter is making the rounds on the horror circuit via teaser trailer and all the latest information on "The Fear Chamber," can be found here. Nightlight Films has acquired North American distribution rights for gory horror flick "The Fear Chamber." Starring veteran actor Richard Tyson, moody Rhett Giles, and scream queen Bianca Barnett the feature involves the black market organ trade that has apparently moved from southeast Asia to North American shores. Shot in 1080p at 24 frames per second the film, in a digital format, will look and feel as if shot on on a quality 35mm reel. Foreign distribution is still being sought and the first disturbing trailer for "The Fear Chamber," can be seen here.
A synopsis for "The Fear Chamber," can be found here...
A highly psychotic man hunts down young women to kill them and sell their organs on the black market.

Written by Leigh Scott and directed by Griff Furst, Wolvesbayne is simply a rocking film that is fun to watch and leaves you wanting more. The movie combines elements of Underworld, Scott.s own Dracula.s Curse, and Wanted. The mix gives you an action horror film that goes for the throat from the start and doesn.t let up until the credits roll. Wolvesbayne stars Jeremy London, Christy Carlson Romano, Yancy Butler, Mark Dacascos, Rhett Giles, Kristen Quintrall, and Justin Jones. The film is pretty much a .by the numbers. thriller that follows Russel Bayne (London) . who is bitten by a werewolf and quickly finds himself in the middle of a supernatural war between vampires, werewolves, and human hunters.

Got an email the other day from filmmaker Leigh Scott regarding several upcoming productions from Bullet Films, a subdivision of Blackthorne Industries, the production company he and other ex-Asylum employees formed after escaping The Asylum late last year. The title that immediately popped out to me was Wolvesbayne, a sort of werewolf Hellboy that has just begun filming.
Described as a superhero-type origin film set in a horror film universe, Jeremy London ("Party of Five", Basilisk: The Serpent King) stars as the heroic werewolf who will have to save the world from a Nazi vampire cult leader played by a sword-wielding Marc Dacascos (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Drive) and his vampish cohort, Yancy Butler ("Witchblade", Hard Target). Rounding out the cast are Christy Carlson Romano (the voice of TV's "Kim Possible") as - I'm assuming - the hero's love interest and underrated former Asylum movie regular Rhett Giles as the one and only Van Helsing.
