Taylor Swift is riding on a career-high following a smash-breaking year that included having a highly profitable stadium tour and being named Time’s Person of the Year.
While Swift minds her own business, enjoying time with friends and attending the Kansas City Chiefs games, Ted Nugent is giving his opinion on the musician and doesn’t have favorable words to describe her music.
“So I’m afraid to say in this world that’s gone down the toilet in all aspects, I’m afraid the success of Taylor Swift—and again, God bless her work ethic, God bless her musical dreams—but that’s cartoon music,” Nugent said while making an appearance on The Joe Pags Show podcast.
He continued, “I mean, it doesn’t have any piss and vinegar. There’s no fire, there’s no sensuality in that. It’s all poppy nonsense, as far as I’m concerned.

Two all new celebrities in disguise took to “The Masked Singer” stage for “Fright Night” on Wednesday, November 23, singing their hearts out and coming for Snowstorm’s crown. After giving a soulful rendition of “Devil With the Blue Dress On” by Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels, Sir Bug a Boo advanced to the evening’s Battle Royale, only to be bested by Snowstorm after singing “Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockwell. The entire panel consisting of Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger failed to correctly guess Grammy-winning swinger-songwriter Ray Parker Jr. was behind the mask.
“I saw it last year when y’all thought I was Bobby Brown,” Parker Jr. told Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “They put my head on the character and I was like, ‘What the heck is that?'” To his friends, family and fans watching at home, the accomplished musician said,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 8, episode 9, of “The Masked Singer,” “Fright Night,” which aired Nov. 23 on Fox.
Perhaps “The Masked Singer” judges are finally figuring out that this year’s episodic themes frequently reference the week’s new disguised celebrity contestants. This Wednesday’s episode was dubbed “Fright Night,” so who ya gonna call? “Ghostbusters” singer Ray Parker, Jr., of course. And who might also lurk on stage? “Exorcist” star Linda Blair.
That’s right, for the episode’s reveals, Parker, Jr., and Blair were the next stars to be unmasked.
Blair, as the Scarecrow, stunned host Nick Cannon and the audience by volunteering to unmask and let the other two contestants duke it out to move on to next week. “I love this show so much,” she said. “I came to share how much I love you and what you all...

Alice Cooper has recorded a gritty cover of the Velvet Underground’s “Rock & Roll” for his upcoming LP, Detroit Stories. The record comes out on February 26th.
The rendition is a straight-ahead rocker, as Cooper adds a little of his own growl to his take on Reed’s vocals. He changes some of the lyrics — the rock & roll radio source is a “Detroit station” instead of one from New York — but mostly he sticks to the song’s raw foundation. In addition to Cooper, the recording features some other notable...

When former Billy Joel drummer Liberty DeVitto started work on his new memoir Liberty: Life, Billy and the Pursuit of Happiness about 15 years ago, he was still angry. Joel had just fired him from his band after 30 years together, and DeVitto saw the book as a chance to vent his rage and settle old scores. “I was the ‘angry old man,'” he tells Rolling Stone. “And the anger was eating me from the inside out.”
But as the years ticked by and he had the chance to tell his side of the story,...

Winona Ryder has plenty to celebrate as she turns the big 4-0 on Saturday.
The actress has largely stayed out of the spotlight since last appearing in Vince Vaughn's hit comedy The Dilemma, and although she recently confessed to dreading the big milestone, Ryder has much to look forward to - including two new films, which are out next year.
To honour the Hollywood star on her special day, WENN has dug out 10 fascinating facts about the birthday girl. Cheers, Winona!
- She was born in Olmsted County, Minnesota and named after the nearby city of Winona.
- Her godfather was controversial American psychologist and outlaw Timothy Leary. He famously defended the use of psychedelic drugs for therapeutic purposes and was incarcerated in 29 different prisons around the world.
- When Ryder was seven, she moved to a remote part of California to live with her family on a commune, which had no TV or electricity.
- Ryder nearly drowned when she was 12 years old and now suffers from a fear of deep water.
- She is a natural-born blonde and has been dying her hair brown ever since she turned brunette for her role in 1986 film Lucas.
- The star's given last name is Horowitz - she selected Ryder as her stage name after stumbling upon a Mitch Ryder record in her father's album collection.
- She was once engaged to her Edward Scissorhands co-star Johnny Depp. The couple met on the set of the 1990 film and dated for four years.
- The multi-talented actress was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1995 for her spoken word reading of the famous diary of Anne Frank.
- She started her own music company Roustabout Studios in 1999.
- Ryder received the 2,165th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 6 October, 2000. Upon accepting the honour, the actress told the crowd, "When I heard about this, I thought it was a joke. This is so huge to me... (it) gives me a chance to say you can walk all over me."...

Bruce Springsteen has joined with a Detroit-based soul man who emerged from the rubble of a lengthy battle with cancer with the most remarkable album of his three-decade career.
The wry and rocking ‘Heartless World’ from Stewart Francke (out May 31 on Blue Boundary Records) kicks off with “Summer Soldier (Holler If Ya Hear Me),” a narrative about a young Michigan soldier entrenched in the war in Afghanistan, made even more powerful with Springsteen’s call and response vocals throughout. The powerful, organ-based track is mixed in with lighter songs in the vein of heartland idols Tom Petty and The Band, such as “Boo Yah (Take My Mother Home),” featuring his friend legendary “Detroit Wheel” Mitch Ryder.

Thomas Wolfe said you can't go home again. Was he right? One of the quiet gems of 2009 was an album originally produced by Bob Dylan in 1973. Other than his own work under the pseudonymous Jack Frost, it's the only album Dylan ever produced. It's not, however, a Dylan record, it's a Barry Goldberg record. Even if you've never heard of Barry Goldberg, you've heard Barry Goldberg. Keyboardist/songwriter/producer, he wrote a #1 hit ("I've Got To Use My Imagination" by Gladys Knight & The Pips) and played on another ("Devil With A Blue Dress" by Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels). As part of the Chicago blues mafia of the 1960s, he ran with the late string king Mike Bloomfield. They co-founded Electric Flag (with Buddy Miles, among others), and Barry later...

Bud Prager, a longtime label executive and manager who fostered the rock bands Mountain, Foreigner and Damn Yankees, died Dec. 22 of esophageal cancer at his home in Montauk, N.Y. He was 79.
In the 1960s, the native New Yorker formed independent label Windfall Records with Felix Pappalardi, who produced the three Cream records. The record company grew into Windfall Music Enterprises, which included artist management, publishing, production and recording divisions.
Pappalardi and Prager soon brought together the players for Mountain; the band gained popularity after an appearance at Woodstock in 1969 and the single"Mississippi Queen" from its debut album the following year.
After Mountain disbanded, Prager brought together guitarist Leslie West and drummer Corky Laing of Mountain and Cream bassist Jack Bruce to form "supergroup" West, Bruce & Laing in 1972. They lasted two albums.
In 1976, Prager began a 17-year management affiliation with Foreigner. After repeatedly being turned down by all the major labels,...
