Here's Why Disney And Marvel Studios Delayed Avengers: Doomsday And Avengers: Secret Wars
Image
Yesterday evening, we learned that Avengers: Doomsday has been moved from May 1, 2026, to December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars, meanwhile, will now open on December 17, 2027, after it was originally scheduled for May 7, 2027.

Most fans seem to agree that this is for the best, as such a quick turnaround on both blockbusters likely wouldn't do either of them any favours.

Deadline has shared some insights into why Disney and Marvel Studios concluded that delaying Doomsday and Secret Wars was the right move, with insiders telling the trade that "these two films are among the biggest ever made, and the delays simply allow more time to execute on a gargantuan vision."

As for why the Avengers franchise is moving from its usual May slot to December, it's said that's down to "the success they've had in the holiday corridor with titles like Spider-Man: No Way Home."

There's certainly something to be said for making...

Marvel delays Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars
Image
The timeline for the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been extended. According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios revealed this week that the release dates for its next two Avengers films have been pushed back. Avengers: Doomsday, which was originally slated to release on May 1, 2026, will now come out on December 18, 2026. The follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, was similarly pushed back from May 7, 2026 to December 17, 2026.

So if you were planning to spend your next two summers with the Avengers, surprise, you'll now be ringing in the holidays with them instead. Fortunately, this isn't that bad of a delay; at least Doomsday and Secret Wars are still planned for the same year they were originally going to come out, just seven months later.

This change to Marvel's release schedule comes only a couple of months after they announced the core cast for the fifth Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday. That one...

Avengers: Doomsday Rumor Points To A Very Surprising Character Return - Possible Spoilers
Image
Almost 30 names were announced as part of Marvel Studios' massive Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal back in March, with actors from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Thunderbolts*, and even 20th Century Fox's X-Men movies set to join the fight against Robert Downey J.'s Doctor Doom.

Marvel has confirmed that another announcement is imminent, but this latest rumor points to the return of a character we really didn't expect to see in this or any other upcoming MCU movie.

Possible spoilers ahead.

According to photographer @UnBoxPHD, Domino from Deadpool 2 was spotted on the Doomsday set. There's no mention of Zazie Beetz and he doesn't provide any evidence to back up this claim, but every photo we've seen from the set so far has come from this source, so we're inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt here.

Beetz was introduced as Domino in the Deadpool sequel, and...

Is Marvel casting Ghost Rider for Avengers: Doomsday?
Avengers: Doomsday (2026)
A couple of months ago, the Marvel Studios social media accounts started live-streaming a video they labeled as an all-caps Announcement. The video showed a soundstage where, one by one, chairs reserved for actors were revealed, with a new chair coming into view every 10 minutes or so. As it turns out, this was a very long and slow way of revealing (a large chunk of) the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, which is now in production and aiming for a December 18, 2026 release date (having moved back from its previously announced May release date). The names of twenty-seven cast members were shown that day, with Marvel teasing, “There’s always room for more…” And we have reason to expect there are a whole lot more, because a large number of characters we would expect to see in the movie were not in the mix that day. Not only that, but the movie...

Why Marvel Delayed Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars
Image
Big changes are nothing new in the tentpole movie business, but the sprawling mega-entity that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be particularly prone to them. In 2021 alone, Marvel Studios pushed back its entire 2022 slate, while individual movies like Sam Wilson's (Anthony Mackie) unfortunately forgettable solo movie debut, "Captain America: Brave New World," wound up being pushed back and tinkered with so much that we have a separate article detailing every actor and moment cut from the "Captain America" sequel during its borderline cursed production process.

Now, it appears that the biggest and most important MCU projects on the horizon have joined the ever-expanding list of Marvel Studios movies that aren't proceeding as originally announced. Per Deadline, the Russo Brothers' 2026 MCU team-up "Avengers: Doomsday" has been pushed from its originally announced theatrical release date of May 1, 2026, to December 18 of that year. Its follow-up, "Avengers: Secret Wars," has received...

Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’: Everything We Know So Far
Image
Marvel Cinematic Universe is gearing up once again to bring back The Avengers, but this time, it will be bigger, messier, and more chaotic than ever. The upcoming Phase 6 movie is set to arrive on the big screen in 2026, and it will be Marvel’s next superhero showdown. Avengers: Doomsday will not feature just any average team-up. And yes, forget Kang, he’s out. Welcome, Doctor Doom, played by none other than Robert Downey Jr., who has turned to the dark side.

It turns out that the title change from The Kang Dynasty to Doomsday wasn’t just a rename; it was a whole plot shake-up, with the Russo Brothers taking charge and a new villain addition that had us spiraling.

Not only this, the expectations are soaring sky-high, and this one’s going to be packed with more heroes, more villains, and way more mayhem than anything we’ve...

Avengers: Doomsday Set Photo Reveals Completed Sentinel Battlefield - But Is All As It Seems?
Image
Avengers: Doomsday is currently shooting in the UK, and the set we've been keeping you updated about for the past few weeks is finally complete.

As you can see, it appears to be the grounds of the X-Mansion in the wake of an epic superhero fight that's left Sentinel pieces strewn across the battlefield. Massive blue screens surround the practical set, as do shipping containers meant to keep the action away from prying eyes.

However, now we can see the entire thing, that strange metal construction on the bottom right-hand side has left us wondering if all is not quite as it seems.

Our theory is that this is the Danger Room; how better to introduce the returning X-Men than in an epic Sentinel battle that's been pulled straight from the pages of the comics? It's been a while, so establishing them as a formidable challenge for the Avengers and...

Image
Marvel fans will have to wait a few extra months to see the upcoming onscreen assembly of superheroes. Marvel Studios and Disney have announced they are pushing back the release dates of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Avengers: Doomsday has been moved back from May 1, 2026, to Dec. 18, 2026, while its follow-up will now arrive in theaters on Dec. 17, 2027 instead of May 7, 2027. Doomsday is currently in production in London and the delay will give directors Joe and Anthony Russo more time to complete the film.

Disney has pushed the releases of the fifth and sixth entries in Marvel Studios’ Avengers series from May to December next year and in 2027.

Avengers: Doomsday moves from May 1 next year to December 18, 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars from May 7, 2027 to December 18 of that year.

Joe and Anthony Russo are directing both films, having previously steered Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which between them grossed nearly $5bn.

The Russo brothers announced their involvement in the sequels at last year’s Comic-Con, where it was also revealed that Robert Downey Jr would play villain Dr Doom.

Marvel Studios Has Officially Delayed Avengers: Doomsday And Avengers: Secret Wars Release Dates
Image
Release date delays rarely make for fun reading, but as the end of the Multiverse Saga nears, we now know that the two-part finale is coming later than expected.

Disney and Marvel Studios have announced that Avengers: Doomsday has been moved from May 1, 2026, to December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars, meanwhile, will now open on December 17, 2027, after it was originally scheduled for May 7, 2027.

While there's bound to be some disappointment surrounding this news, there were telltale signs that Avengers: Doomsday might be delayed. The movie didn't start shooting until roughly a year before its release, and it always seemed strange for Disney to release an Avengers movie within a few weeks of a Star Wars one (The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22).

Ultimately, this feels like the right move on Disney's part. This gives both movies more time to shoot, increases the odds of more actors being able to appear, and vastly extends that all-important post-production time.

Hugh Jackman Teases Whether Wolverine Will Appear In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Image
With Wolverine’s recent addition to Disney’s MCU, Hugh Jackman is navigating questions about the character’s onscreen future.

Following his return to the role (aka Logan) in last year’s Deadpool & Wolverine, the Oscar nominee recently assured he “actually” has no news about whether he’ll slip on the Adamantium claws once again for Avengers: Doomsday.

“I really can’t say much, except when you say ‘appear,’ more like dominate and destroy every other character—I’m kidding,” teased Jackman on The View. “I really have nothing to add, and if I did, I would find a really cool way to not say it, but I actually have nothing to add.”

Jackman made his debut as Wolverine in 2000’s X-Men, reprising the role in X2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), The Wolverine (2013), Logan (2017) and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024).

Avengers: Doomsday (2026)
Marvel pushes back the release of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars
Avengers: Doomsday (2026)
Marvel Studios has pushed back the release of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. As these two productions are shaping up to be the biggest Marvel ever undertaken, it’s no surprise that the studio wants to give them as much time as possible. Doomsday was initially set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, but has now been moved to December 18, 2026. As for Secret Wars, that film has moved from May 7, 2027 to December 17, 2027.

What this means for Spider-Man: Brand New Day remains unclear. Originally scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026—between the two upcoming Avengers films—the sequel’s release could be delayed, especially if its storyline is closely tied to the events of Doomsday. For now, fans will have to wait and see how the shifting Marvel calendar impacts Spidey’s next chapter.

Disney Pushes Next Two ‘Avengers’ Movies; Dates ‘The Dog Stars’ & ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

Marvel Studios is pushing back the release of its next two Avengers films, directed by the Russo Brothers. Avengers: Doomsday has moved from May 1 to December 18, 2026. Meanwhile, Avengers: Secret Wars is moving from May 7 to December 17, 2027.

Today, Disney also shared updates on a pair of high-profile titles from 20th Century Studios: Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars, starring Jacob Elordi, and The Devil Wears Prada 2. The Dog Stars will be released on March 27, 2026, with The Devil Wears Prada 2 coming out on May 1, 2026. Then, there’s an IMAX/3D re-release of James Cameron...

Avengers: Doomsday - Hugh Jackman Responds To Rumors That He'll Return As Wolverine
Image
Marvel Studios' recent Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal included a few surprising names, but the actors who weren't mentioned raised just as many questions.

If you've been keeping up with rumors relating to the 2026 MCU event film, you may have been anticipating the casts of Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps as well as a couple of X-Men characters (we had heard that both Kelsey Grammer and Sir Patrick Stewart were set to return after their respective appearances in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels), but we were not expecting quite so many mutants.

Joining Stewart and Grammer will be Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

Tatum made his MCU debut in Deadpool and Wolverine, but Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were not announced as part of the Doomsday cast.

Rumor: Captain America's New Team In Avengers: Doomsday Revealed Along With Details On Doom's Followers
Image
Avengers: Doomsday will mark the beginning of the end for the Multiverse Saga as the Russo Brothers make their MCU return to try and end this hit-or-miss era of storytelling in style.

Earth's (the Multiverse's?) Mightiest Heroes will assemble to battle Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom, and along with the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and New Avengers, we know Captain America will lead his own team of Avengers.

According to The Cosmic Circus, Sam Wilson's team will be comprised of Joaquin Torres/The Falcon, Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Wong, and Shang-Chi. They're officially on his team, with She-Hulk likely to join them.

That's a formidable lineup, and Cap has brought together some legit powerhouses to help him protect the world from threats like Victor Von Doom.

The site notes that Latveria will also be featured in Avengers: Doomsday (which isn't overly surprising), and regarding Doom's team,...

Avengers: Doomsday Set Spy Hit With Formal Warning As Fake "Leaks" Continue To Fool Fans
Image
Earlier this week, a fan calling himself @theyneversawitcomingg revealed that he managed to sneak onto the set of Avengers: Doomsday, and was able to share some of the footage he filmed online before it was removed from the various social media sites.

The brief clips didn't feature anything particularly revealing, but did seem to confirm that we'll be paying a visit to Madripoor - the fictional Southeast Asian island commonly associated with Wolverine and the X-Men - at some point in the movie.

Despite these relatively innocuous leaks, Mr. @theyneversawitcomingg has now revealed that he's been hit with a formal warning from Marvel Studios, so we don't expect to see him climbing over any more fences anytime soon.

Though the actual leaks were fairly minor, others have seized the opportunity to create fake footage and images in an attempt to fool people online. Most of this is blatantly AI, but...

‘The Studio’: Dave Franco Says Finale Cameo Was About Turning Up His Personality ‘to an Unbelievable Degree’
Image
Note: This story contains spoilers from “The Studio” Episodes 9 and 10.

As soon as Dave Franco heard that Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen were working on a new show, he was in. But it wasn’t until after he filmed his first episode of “The Studio” that he begged to come back.

“It was a nice surprise that I got to be in a fake Ron Howard movie doing a crazy New York accent opposite Anthony Mackie,” Franco told TheWrap, referencing “Alphabet City,” the fake movie that appears in the Apple TV+ original. “From there, I had such a good time filming that first episode that I begged them to bring me back.”

That’s what brought Dave Franco to CinemaCon. As with every other element of “The Studio,” the comedy’s two-part finale is wild. After learning that Continental Studios is at risk of being sold to Amazon, studio head...

Avengers: Doomsday - Possible Description Of Rdj's Doctor Doom Surfaces Along With New Sentinel Set Photo
Image
Since we found out that Robert Downey Jr. would be making his return to the MCU as Victor Von Doom for Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday during Sdcc last year, fans have been wondering what the Academy Award-winner's take on the classic villain would look like.

We have seen some (supposed) leaked concept art and other depictions (though nothing official) of the character which could give us some idea of how his distinctive costume will look in the movie, but we still don't know for sure what he's going to look like beneath the mask.

A Doomsday banner was spotted as part of the Disney Blockbuster Consumer Products display, but it utilized an older Alex Ross design. However, Film Threat's Chris Gore has reportedly seen something from the sizzle reel that was shown to attendees, and he claims that Doom will have the scarred visage, with a look reminiscent of the "old Universal Monster movies.

Avengers: Doomsday Set Leak May Reveal The Movie's Surprising Plans For Bob/The Sentry - Spoilers
Image
Over the weekend, a fan managed to break into the Avengers: Doomsday set and shared footage of the cast's trailers and a Madripoor set.

Now, the leaker has taken to Instagram to share a map showcasing the "Annie Reynolds House" at an undisclosed London location. Most interesting is the fact that the house is labelled with "Void Space."

Actress Molly Carden played Annie Reynolds, the mother of Robert Reynolds, in Thunderbolts*. While it's possible Marvel Studios is using codenames, this seems to suggest that Bob/The Sentry will return to The Void and confront his mother.

As we saw in Thunderbolts* *The New Avengers, the way she reacted to her son attempting to stop his father's violent outbursts played a pivotal role in the darkness that surrounds Bob to this day. It's interesting that The Sentry's story will continue in this way, and it could be a way to either...

Rumor: Unexpected Plans For Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova In Avengers: Doomsday Revealed - Spoilers
Image
In Thunderbolts*, Yelena Belova decided she wanted to take a crack at being a superhero like her sister, Natasha Romanoff. She eventually gets that chance as a member of the New Avengers.

However, as the credits made clear, the public has mixed feelings about this superhero team. Plus, despite them being the official Government-backed Avengers, Sam Wilson has sued them for using the "Avengers" name after assembling his own group of heroes at the behest of disgraced U.S. President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross.

The expectation is that Avengers: Doomsday will feature as many as three Avengers teams: The Avengers, the New Avengers, and the Young Avengers (who will likely be named the Champions).

Now, though, a rumour shared by scooper Daniel Richtman suggests a defection could happen. He claims that "Yelena is actually part of Sam's Avengers team in Doomsday."

No additional context was provided, so we have no idea...

Avengers: Doomsday Rumor May Reveal New Details On Avengers Vs. X-Men Scene - Spoilers
Image
As filming continues on Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday, we have some rumored updates on what sounds like a massive set piece involving Earth's Mightiest Heroes facing off against the X-Men.

Possible spoilers ahead.

Previous reports have claimed that scenes involving the mutant heroes in comic-accurate costumes taking on members of the Avengers are being shot, and we now have some details on which specific characters are involved.

According to Daniel Richtman, they are "only shooting scenes with the actors spotted in the chair" reveals, and the line-up of Avengers is "notably missing" some members of the Thunderbolts team.

We know another cast announcement is imminent, so it is interesting that only the actors that have already been confirmed are involved in these battle sequences. It's also curious that some of the Thunderbolts - or the New Avengers - are absent. Have there been some casualties, perhaps?

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Blu-ray Review
Image
Stars: Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Tim Blake Nelson | Written by Rob Edwards, Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, Julius Onah, Peter Glanz | Directed by Julius Onah

Anthony Mackie steps into the title role for the fourth movie in the MCU’s Captain America series, following the events of TV’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. However, somewhat unexpectedly, the film also turns out to be a direct sequel to The Incredible Hulk, albeit one without Bruce Banner in it. The result, unfortunately, is something of a mixed bag.

Captain America: Brave New World opens with Sam Wilson (Mackie), the new Captain America, on a mission for the US government, led by newly elected President (and former Hulk hunter) Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford). When he finds himself slap bang in the middle of an international incident in which his friend Isiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) was apparently brainwashed,...

Marvel's Thunderbolts* Box Office Officially Passes The McU's Second Biggest Bomb's Entire Gross In Just 2 Weeks
Image
Thunderbolts*has left the Marvel Cinematic Universe's second-biggest box office bomb behind. Thunderbolts* promises some big changes for the future of the MCU, and as such, the team movie has been able to maintain mostly strong legs at the box office. That has helped Thunderbolts* easily surpass the total box office of the McU's two biggest bombs, doing so in one week and two weeks, respectively. Now, Thunderbolts*'s cast of obscure characters leaves a major Marvel hero behind as the film climbs the McU's box office rankings.

According to Box Office Mojo, Thunderbolts* has passed The Incredible Hulk at the box office. The McU's latest movie currently stands at $325.7 million against The Incredible Hulk's $264.8 million. That comes after the latest MCU movie of 2025 passed the entire box office gross of the franchise's biggest bomb to date, The Marvels, in just one week. The Captain Marvel sequel only managed...

An 'Avengers: Doomsday' Fan Snuck Onto the Set and Filmed the Whole Thing

Avengers: Doomsday might be the most anticipated upcoming MCU movie to date, as fans are desperate to see Robert Downey Jr. leave his Iron Man days behind to play Doctor Doom in the film. But one fan has become a little too desperate, and, in true comic book style, broke onto the film's set in England to get a glimpse of the action for themself. But, they proved themselves to be a worthy hero by filming it for everyone online to enjoy.

@theyneversawitcoming was the fan who broke onto the Avengers: Doomdsay set. Like J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Fan Breaks Into Avengers: Doomsday Set And Reveals Movie Will Feature Scenes Set In [Spoiler]
Image
Avengers: Doomsday is currently shooting in the UK at Pinewood Studios. Over the weekend, a fan managed to find a gap in the surrounding fence, snuck into the studio's grounds, and spent some time exploring the set of the next MCU movie.

This person didn't discover much, but after helping themselves to catering, they spotted a set seemingly confirming that Avengers: Doomsday will take us back to Madripoor.

The fictional island nation is best known to comic book fans for being where Wovlerine spent time hiding out as "Patch." However, it was officially introduced in the MCU during The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Will the Russo Brothers finally reveal what Sharon Carter is up to as the Power Broker? They introduced the character in 2014, so it's certainly possible.

They also spotted signage for "The Webslingers Inn," though it's not clear whether that's for the movie or just an inside...

It's an exciting time to be a Marvel fan as Thunderbolts*, aka "The New Avengers," continues to deliver justice at the box office. This film leads to both The Fantastic Four: First Steps this summer and Avengers: Doomsday next year. With that, the marketing and merchandise train never sleeps in the MCU. The next addition to McFarlane's 1:10th scale collectible posed figure series is Black Panther, inspired by Marvel Knights #4’s cover. Like every figure in this line, Black Panther will come suited up with a collectible art card and a dynamic display. The protector of Wakanda is ready for a fight in his classic all-black costume and is seen in a similar stance to the “Wakanda Forever” stance that has been immortalized by the MCU.

Captain America: Brave New World Director Reveals We Nearly Got A Gun-Toting Red Hulk In MCU Movie
Image
Captain America: Brave New World drew a mixed response from fans and critics alike. However, many fans agree that Harrison Ford's take on President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross and the rampaging Red Hulk were two of the movie's biggest successes.

The villain was only unleashed for 10 minutes in the movie, but still made a lasting impact. Marvel Studios also left the door open to Ford reprising the role in a future MCU project, though it remains to be seen whether that's as part of the Avengers franchise or World War Hulk.

It's already been confirmed that a version of Red Hulk with Ross' trademark moustache was considered, and director Julius Onah has now confirmed that we nearly got to see the rageful Commander in Chief wield a gun.

"There was a point in time, actually, it didn't make the movie, where Red Hulk, arcing back to publishing, wielded a gun,...

Sebastian Stan Confessed He Used to Lie All the Time to Get Movie Roles
Image
With Thunderbolts* in theaters and a few more roles on the way, Sebastian Stan has been killing it recently. Well, to be fair, he’s been killing the scene for quite some time now. Whether it’s Carter Baizen in Gossip Girl or Steve in Fresh, the actor has consistently proven his range on screen. Just look at A Different Man and The Apprentice – two completely different roles in the same year! And of course, we don’t even need to mention Bucky Barnes.

However, it looks like Sebastian Stan may not have been entirely transparent while auditioning for the plethora of characters he has played. As it turns out, he has lied a handful of times just to get ahead of the line. A little white lie never hurt anyone, right?

Rumor: Dafne Keen To Return As Laura/X-23; Update On Marvel's Plans For The X-men
Image
We didn't expect to see Dafne Keen as X-23 again following her acclaimed turn in James Mangold's Logan, but the young actress was given the opportunity to reprise the role in Shawn Levy's Deadpool and Wolverine as part of a Void Resistance team alongside Blade (Wesley Snipes), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Gambit (Channing Tatum), and the late Johnny Storm (Chris Evans).

Laura appears again in the closing moments of the movie, having reunited with Logan and the Merc With a Mouth, leaving the door open for her eventual return.

Hugh Jackman is expected to play Wolverine at least one more time before we see a new team of mutants makes their debut in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, and it looks like his daughter/clone will be joining him.

According to Mttsh, Keen is set to return to the MCU. Avengers: Doomsday is possible, but if not, she will likely suit-up for Secret Wars.

Avengers: Doomsday Set Photo Reveals A Birds-Eye View Of A Downed Sentinel - Possible Spoilers
Image
Earlier this week, we got a first look at what appeared to be a downed Sentinel on the set of Avengers: Doomsday. Now, we have a birds-eye view offering a clearer shot at the mutant-hunting robot's legs (in what's believed to be the X-Mansion's grounds).

We also have reason to believe that we'll see the remains of more than one Sentinel, as you can see below.

Unfortunately, the legs are still covered up, but the photographer who took these shots has confirmed that the footprints they've seen elsewhere on set match the Sentinel design from the comics.

Sentinels attacking the X-Men's home is par for the course in the comics, so this could be part of a major battle we'll see in the movie or the fallout from a previous battle. We also wouldn't discount the possibility of this being a Danger Room training exercise meant to show us what...

Marvel star might have spoiled big Avengers: Doomday comebacks
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been gearing up for a big comeback in every sense of the word. After a period of releasing multiple underwhelming projects one after another, the superhero giant has changed its strategy and is now instead focusing on quality over quantity, with Thunderbolts* being one of the first examples. Furthermore, characters who were absent from the big or small screen for many years are now at the center of their own projects, as is the case with Daredevil and the Fantastic Four. But if that wasn't enough, audiences will also witness huge superhero comebacks in Avengers: Doomsday.

Earth's Mightiest Heroes' upcoming adventure will feature 27 characters at the very least — all of which have already been officially announced. However, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has confirmed that there is room for even more heroes to make an appearance. Fans have been speculating left and right...

Robert Downey Jr. Is Taking His ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Prep Seriously in New Set Image
Image
Robert Downey Jr.is getting ready to portray Doctor Doom on the big screen, after portraying Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for more than a decade. The acclaimed actor has shared a new photo from the set of Avengers: Doomsday. The image doesn't give anything away in relation to the plot of next year's crossover, but Downey is clearly teasing what is promising to be an unforgettable performance. A comic book featuring Doctor Doom can be seen as one of the things the actor is using for his preparation as the villain.

Avengers: Doomsday will mark Robert Downey Jr.'s return to the franchise, after he was seen as Iron Man for the last time in Avengers: Endgame. The Earth's Mightiest Heroes will have to stand united against Doctor Doom. Judging by the fact that the character will be played by Robert Downey Jr. and that Latveria hasn't...

‘Titane’ Star Agathe Rousselle & Sallie Harmsen Join Apple TV+ Heist Series ’12 12 12’
Image
Exclusive: Agathe Rousselle, who broke out in 2021 Cannes Palme d’Or winning body-horror Titane, and Sallie Harmsen (Blade Runner 2049) have joined the cast of Apple TV+ heist series 12 12 12, alongside Anthony Mackie, Jamie Dornan, who also produce.

Co-produced by Skydance Television and Anonymous Content, 12 12 12 unfolds across three timelines of a heist: the 12 months of planning, the 12 hours of the heist, and the 12 days following the heist.

The series follows a disgraced FBI agent (Mackie) and an American career criminal (Dornan) who play a zero-sum game of cat and mouse across Europe. At the center of it all is the daring, epic raid on a bank vault deep beneath the streets of Zurich.

The show is created and written by Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble, who will also executive produce.

Kari Skogland will direct the pilot, as well as executive produce. Mackie executive produces via his Make It With Gravy production company alongside Jason Spire for Inspire Entertainment.

The casting announcement comes hot on the heels of news last week that Ólafur Darri Ólafsson has also joined the cast.

French actress Rousselle, who splits her time between Paris and San Francisco, and Dutch actress Harmsen have signed for regular roles in the series.

In the meantime, Rousselle will next be seen in French director Laurent Slama’s Paris 2024 Olympics-set and shot drama A Second Life, which world premieres in Tribeca in June. She co-stars opposite Alex Lawther (The End of the F**ing World) as a depressed woman working for a holiday lets concierge company, whose life changes when she meets a free-spirited traveller.

Other credits since Titane, in which Rousselle played a psychopath with a titanium plate in her head, have included French Netflix Original Feature Gold Brick and Australian drama How To Make Gravy, while she also appeared in Last Days, an opera based on the Gus Van Sant film, directed by Matt Copson, and performed at both the Royal Opera House in London and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Sallie Harmsen gained international attention in Blade Runner 2049 (2017) opposite Jared Leto, Devils (2020), The Postcard Killings (2020), directed by Oscar-winner Danis Tanović and the BBC-series Delia (2024).

She also starred in Drawback (2023) opposite Claes Bang and will soon be seen in a leading role in the series, Suga, for Amazon Prime Video. She’s been nominated for a Dutch Academy Award (Golden Calf) twice in The Netherlands.

Rousselle is is repped by CAA and Adéquat and Sallie Harmsen is represented by No19 Talent Management and United Agents.

12 12 12 is a co-production between Anonymous Content and Skydance Television. Skogland, Appleton, Keeble, Mackie, Dornan, and Spire will executive produce alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television, and David Levine and Garrett Kemble for Anonymous Content. Samantha Corbin-Miller also serves as executive producer.

Avengers: Doomsday Set Photos And Video Appear To Reveal A Downed Sentinel!
Image
As filming continues on Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday, these latest photos and video from what is believed to be the X-Mansion set reveal what looks a lot like a downed Sentinel.

Though the head isn't visible, what appears to be a large mauve chest plate and foot sticking out of the tarp would seem to leave little doubt that this is indeed one of the giant robots that have been a scourge of mutant-kind in the comics since they were introduced back in the mid-60s.

The Sentinels were a staple of the original X-Men animated series, and have also made a couple of live-action appearances - although Days of Future Past's take on the robots left a lot to be desired among fans that were hoping to see the classic design.

Rumor has it that scenes featuring members of the X-Men facing off against the Avengers are currently being shot,...

Rumored Details On Avengers: Doomsday's Avengers Vs. X-Men Battle; Annihilators Movie In The Works?
Image
It feels like we're in a time of transition for the MCU, and it likely won't be until after Avengers: Secret Wars that Marvel Studios gets fully back on track.

The movie is expected to reboot the franchise, adding the Fantastic Four and X-Men to the main timeline. We'd also bet on a few key characters being recast, as Marvel Studios, for starters, could do with a new Iron Man.

Still, with the Russo Brothers at the helm, we'd bet on Avengers: Doomsday going some way in righting the ship, and an exciting update comes our way today courtesy of scooper Daniel Richtman.

It's said that the filmmakers are currently shooting an epic Avengers vs. X-Men fight scene, with the mutant team decked out in comic-accurate costumes. If true, this will be a dream come true for comic book fans, though that X-Men lineup is still missing a few big names.

Image
Thunderbolts* is halfway through its second week in theaters, and while things are slowing down a bit more than anticipated at the box office, the film recently passed an iconic spy thriller. After a solid Monday that saw Thunderbolts* haul in $2.6 million at the domestic box office, the film now sits at a global cumulative haul of $273 million, with $130 million coming from the U.S. and $143 million from international markets. This $130 million domestic total is enough to push Thunderbolts* past Kingsman: The Secret Service, which finished its theatrical run with $128 million domestically. Thunderbolts* will next look to pass The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, the divisive 2007 superhero sequel starring Chris Evans, Ioan Gruffudd,Jessica Alba, and Michael Chiklis as Marvel’s First Family.

It was Ryan Coogler’s Sinners that sat atop the box office for two weeks straight before the premiere of Thunderbolts*, but the second MCU movie of the year,...

Avengers: Doomsday Star Kelsey Grammer On Why He's Excited To Return As The "Martin Luther King Of Mutants"
Image
Frasier star Kelsey Grammer made his debut as Beast in X-Men 3, aka X-Men: The Last Stand, before returning to provide the voice and motion capture for a fully CGI version of the character in The Marvels many years later.

In The Marvels' stinger, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) wakes up in a medical lab after getting trapped in an alternate reality following her battle with Dar-Benn to find her late mother, Maria (Lashana Lynch), by her side. Rambeau is overcome with joy, but Maria - who is actually this world's Binary - has no idea who she is.

As Monica's confusion grows, a familiar voice asks "how's our patient," and a comic-accurate, blue-furred Hank McCoy enters the room.

There were rumors that Grammer was set to return as the fan-favorite X-Man in Avengers: Doomsday, which were confirmed during Marvel Studios' recent cast announcement. While appearing as a guest on The Jamie Kern Lima Show,...
