Most fans seem to agree that this is for the best, as such a quick turnaround on both blockbusters likely wouldn't do either of them any favours.

Deadline has shared some insights into why Disney and Marvel Studios concluded that delaying Doomsday and Secret Wars was the right move, with insiders telling the trade that "these two films are among the biggest ever made, and the delays simply allow more time to execute on a gargantuan vision."

As for why the Avengers franchise is moving from its usual May slot to December, it's said that's down to "the success they've had in the holiday corridor with titles like Spider-Man: No Way Home."

Avengers: Doomsday is currently shooting in the UK, and the set we've been keeping you updated about for the past few weeks is finally complete.

As you can see, it appears to be the grounds of the X-Mansion in the wake of an epic superhero fight that's left Sentinel pieces strewn across the battlefield. Massive blue screens surround the practical set, as do shipping containers meant to keep the action away from prying eyes.

With Wolverine’s recent addition to Disney’s MCU, Hugh Jackman is navigating questions about the character’s onscreen future.

Following his return to the role (aka Logan) in last year’s Deadpool & Wolverine, the Oscar nominee recently assured he “actually” has no news about whether he’ll slip on the Adamantium claws once again for Avengers: Doomsday.

“I really can’t say much, except when you say ‘appear,’ more like dominate and destroy every other character—I’m kidding,” teased Jackman on The View. “I really have nothing to add, and if I did, I would find a really cool way to not say it, but I actually have nothing to add.”

Marvel Studios' recent Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal included a few surprising names, but the actors who weren't mentioned raised just as many questions.

If you've been keeping up with rumors relating to the 2026 MCU event film, you may have been anticipating the casts of Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps as well as a couple of X-Men characters (we had heard that both Kelsey Grammer and Sir Patrick Stewart were set to return after their respective appearances in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels), but we were not expecting quite so many mutants.

Joining Stewart and Grammer will be Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

Tatum made his MCU debut in Deadpool and Wolverine, but Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were not announced as part of the Doomsday cast.

Avengers: Doomsday will mark the beginning of the end for the Multiverse Saga as the Russo Brothers make their MCU return to try and end this hit-or-miss era of storytelling in style.

Marvel recently treated fans to an epic cameo featuring Captain America’s Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in a post-credits scene of Thunderbolts*, where the duo argue over the copyright of the Avengers name. Earlier this week, a fan calling himself @theyneversawitcomingg revealed that he managed to sneak onto the set of Avengers: Doomsday, and was able to share some of the footage he filmed online before it was removed from the various social media sites.

The brief clips didn't feature anything particularly revealing, but did seem to confirm that we'll be paying a visit to Madripoor - the fictional Southeast Asian island commonly associated with Wolverine and the X-Men - at some point in the movie.

Despite these relatively innocuous leaks, Mr. @theyneversawitcomingg has now revealed that he's been hit with a formal warning from Marvel Studios, so we don't expect to see him climbing over any more fences anytime soon.

Since we found out that Robert Downey Jr. would be making his return to the MCU as Victor Von Doom for Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday during Sdcc last year, fans have been wondering what the Academy Award-winner's take on the classic villain would look like.

We have seen some (supposed) leaked concept art and other depictions (though nothing official) of the character which could give us some idea of how his distinctive costume will look in the movie, but we still don't know for sure what he's going to look like beneath the mask.

Over the weekend, a fan managed to break into the Avengers: Doomsday set and shared footage of the cast's trailers and a Madripoor set.

Now, the leaker has taken to Instagram to share a map showcasing the "Annie Reynolds House" at an undisclosed London location. Most interesting is the fact that the house is labelled with "Void Space."

In Thunderbolts*, Yelena Belova decided she wanted to take a crack at being a superhero like her sister, Natasha Romanoff. She eventually gets that chance as a member of the New Avengers.

However, as the credits made clear, the public has mixed feelings about this superhero team. Plus, despite them being the official Government-backed Avengers, Sam Wilson has sued them for using the "Avengers" name after assembling his own group of heroes at the behest of disgraced U.S. President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross.

The expectation is that Avengers: Doomsday will feature as many as three Avengers teams: The Avengers, the New Avengers, and the Young Avengers (who will likely be named the Champions).

As filming continues on Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday, we have some rumored updates on what sounds like a massive set piece involving Earth's Mightiest Heroes facing off against the X-Men.

This person didn't discover much, but after helping themselves to catering, they spotted a set seemingly confirming that Avengers: Doomsday will take us back to Madripoor.

The fictional island nation is best known to comic book fans for being where Wovlerine spent time hiding out as "Patch." However, it was officially introduced in the MCU during The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Will the Russo Brothers finally reveal what Sharon Carter is up to as the Power Broker? The next addition to McFarlane's 1:10th scale collectible posed figure series is Black Panther, inspired by Marvel Knights #4’s cover. Like every figure in this line, Black Panther will come suited up with a collectible art card and a dynamic display. The protector of Wakanda is ready for a fight in his classic all-black costume and is seen in a similar stance to the “Wakanda Forever” stance that has been immortalized by the MCU.

Captain America: Brave New World drew a mixed response from fans and critics alike. However, many fans agree that Harrison Ford's take on President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross and the rampaging Red Hulk were two of the movie's biggest successes.

The villain was only unleashed for 10 minutes in the movie, but still made a lasting impact. Marvel Studios also left the door open to Ford reprising the role in a future MCU project, though it remains to be seen whether that's as part of the Avengers franchise or World War Hulk.

It's already been confirmed that a version of Red Hulk with Ross' trademark moustache was considered, and director Julius Onah has now confirmed that we nearly got to see the rageful Commander in Chief wield a gun.

With Thunderbolts* in theaters and a few more roles on the way, Sebastian Stan has been killing it recently. Well, to be fair, he’s been killing the scene for quite some time now. Whether it’s Carter Baizen in Gossip Girl or Steve in Fresh, the actor has consistently proven his range on screen. Just look at A Different Man and The Apprentice – two completely different roles in the same year! And of course, we don’t even need to mention Bucky Barnes.

However, it looks like Sebastian Stan may not have been entirely transparent while auditioning for the plethora of characters he has played. As it turns out, he has lied a handful of times just to get ahead of the line. A little white lie never hurt anyone, right?

Laura appears again in the closing moments of the movie, having reunited with Logan and the Merc With a Mouth, leaving the door open for her eventual return.

Hugh Jackman is expected to play Wolverine at least one more time before we see a new team of mutants makes their debut in Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot, and it looks like his daughter/clone will be joining him.

According to Mttsh, Keen is set to return to the MCU. Avengers: Doomsday is possible, but if not, she will likely suit-up for Secret Wars.

Earlier this week, we got a first look at what appeared to be a downed Sentinel on the set of Avengers: Doomsday. Now, we have a birds-eye view offering a clearer shot at the mutant-hunting robot's legs (in what's believed to be the X-Mansion's grounds).

We also have reason to believe that we'll see the remains of more than one Sentinel, as you can see below.

Unfortunately, the legs are still covered up, but the photographer who took these shots has confirmed that the footprints they've seen elsewhere on set match the Sentinel design from the comics.

Sentinels attacking the X-Men's home is par for the course in the comics, so this could be part of a major battle we'll see in the movie or the fallout from a previous battle. We also wouldn't discount the possibility of this being a Danger Room training exercise meant to show us what...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been gearing up for a big comeback in every sense of the word. The 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards will be taking place in June 2025 and the nominations have been announced!

Nickelodeon just revealed that music star Tyla will host the event live on June 21 from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. The show will air live on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, the Nick Jr. channel, MTV2 and CMT and Nickelodeon channels around the world at 8pm Et/Pt.

Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar lead the nominations this year with four mentions each. There are 35 categories in which fans can vote in, beginning on Thursday.

Robert Downey Jr.is getting ready to portray Doctor Doom on the big screen, after portraying Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for more than a decade. The acclaimed actor has shared a new photo from the set of Avengers: Doomsday. The image doesn't give anything away in relation to the plot of next year's crossover, but Downey is clearly teasing what is promising to be an unforgettable performance. A comic book featuring Doctor Doom can be seen as one of the things the actor is using for his preparation as the villain.

Exclusive: Agathe Rousselle, who broke out in 2021 Cannes Palme d’Or winning body-horror Titane, and Sallie Harmsen (Blade Runner 2049) have joined the cast of Apple TV+ heist series 12 12 12, alongside Anthony Mackie, Jamie Dornan, who also produce.

Co-produced by Skydance Television and Anonymous Content, 12 12 12 unfolds across three timelines of a heist: the 12 months of planning, the 12 hours of the heist, and the 12 days following the heist.

The series follows a disgraced FBI agent (Mackie) and an American career criminal (Dornan) who play a zero-sum game of cat and mouse across Europe. At the center of it all is the daring, epic raid on a bank vault deep beneath the streets of Zurich.

The show is created and written by Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble, who will also executive produce.

Kari Skogland will direct the pilot, as well as executive produce. Mackie executive produces via his Make It With Gravy production company alongside Jason Spire for Inspire Entertainment.

The casting announcement comes hot on the heels of news last week that Ólafur Darri Ólafsson has also joined the cast.

French actress Rousselle, who splits her time between Paris and San Francisco, and Dutch actress Harmsen have signed for regular roles in the series.

In the meantime, Rousselle will next be seen in French director Laurent Slama’s Paris 2024 Olympics-set and shot drama A Second Life, which world premieres in Tribeca in June. She co-stars opposite Alex Lawther (The End of the F**ing World) as a depressed woman working for a holiday lets concierge company, whose life changes when she meets a free-spirited traveller.

Other credits since Titane, in which Rousselle played a psychopath with a titanium plate in her head, have included French Netflix Original Feature Gold Brick and Australian drama How To Make Gravy, while she also appeared in Last Days, an opera based on the Gus Van Sant film, directed by Matt Copson, and performed at both the Royal Opera House in London and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Sallie Harmsen gained international attention in Blade Runner 2049 (2017) opposite Jared Leto, Devils (2020), The Postcard Killings (2020), directed by Oscar-winner Danis Tanović and the BBC-series Delia (2024).

She also starred in Drawback (2023) opposite Claes Bang and will soon be seen in a leading role in the series, Suga, for Amazon Prime Video. She’s been nominated for a Dutch Academy Award (Golden Calf) twice in The Netherlands.

Rousselle is is repped by CAA and Adéquat and Sallie Harmsen is represented by No19 Talent Management and United Agents.

12 12 12 is a co-production between Anonymous Content and Skydance Television. Skogland, Appleton, Keeble, Mackie, Dornan, and Spire will executive produce alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television, and David Levine and Garrett Kemble for Anonymous Content. Samantha Corbin-Miller also serves as executive producer.

As filming continues on Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday, these latest photos and video from what is believed to be the X-Mansion set reveal what looks a lot like a downed Sentinel.

Though the head isn't visible, what appears to be a large mauve chest plate and foot sticking out of the tarp would seem to leave little doubt that this is indeed one of the giant robots that have been a scourge of mutant-kind in the comics since they were introduced back in the mid-60s.

The Sentinels were a staple of the original X-Men animated series, and have also made a couple of live-action appearances - although Days of Future Past's take on the robots left a lot to be desired among fans that were hoping to see the classic design.

It feels like we're in a time of transition for the MCU, and it likely won't be until after Avengers: Secret Wars that Marvel Studios gets fully back on track.

The movie is expected to reboot the franchise, adding the Fantastic Four and X-Men to the main timeline. We'd also bet on a few key characters being recast, as Marvel Studios, for starters, could do with a new Iron Man.

Disney announced on Tuesday that Captain America: Brave New World, one of the latest films from Marvel Studios, will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ on May 28.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s Anthony Mackie returns in the film as Sam Wilson, who now wields the shield of Captain America. After meeting with newly elected U.S. president Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford), Wilson soon finds himself in the middle of an international incident. In a race against time, he must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.

Directed by Julius Onah, the film also stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson. Kevin Feige and Nate Moore produced the pic, with Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serving as executive producers.
