“American Idol” contestant Wyatt Pike has left the ABC reality competition despite making the top 12. On Monday’s episode, the first live show of the season, host Ryan Seacrest announced that Pike had dropped out.
“Before we get to the results, I have to tell you that finalist Wyatt Pike will not be competing in the competition,” said Seacrest. “He had to drop out — but we wish him the very best.”
There was no reason given for Pike’s abrupt departure, though a rep for “American Idol” told People that Pike left due to “personal reasons.”
Pike, a Utah native, hinted in an Instagram post a few days ago that he was already back home: “Something to feel this through: home,” he wrote. “Thankful for the rollercoaster I’m on today.” See the post below:

The Season 19 finale of The Voice shouldn’t have been suspenseful. Like, at all. Based on your enthusiastic support of Team Gwen Stefani’s junior achiever Carter Rubin in the polls that have followed our recaps, he had the victory in the bag. A nice one, even, with tissue paper and a bow.
But, as we know all too well, the results of TVLine polls don’t necessarily reflect the preferences of the NBC sing-off’s audience as a whole. We also couldn’t underestimate The Blake Shelton Effect — by which a contestant leapfrogs to the front of the pack...

After a season of face masks, social distancing and shocking eliminations, a winner has finally been crowned on “The Voice.” The five finalists in the running to win Season 19 were Carter Rubin of Team Gwen Stefani, Desz of Team Kelly Clarkson, John Holiday of Team John Legend, and Ian Flanigan & Jim Ranger of Team Blake Shelton. Heading into Tuesday’s grand finale, Gold Derby’s exclusive odds gave Carter the best chance of winning (meaning coach Gwen would earn her first victory on her fifth season), so did our predictions come true?

Former “The Voice” contestant Ryan Gallagher, who abruptly left the singing competition show, is disputing the nature of his exit and says he did not break the rules implemented during the pandemic.
According to a joint statement from NBC and MGM, which called Gallagher a talented artist, the contestant had to be ejected after violating the show’s protocols. The nature of the breach was not specified.
“Ryan is a talented artist, however ‘The Voice’ has strict Covid protocols in place to secure a safe set for our crew, coaches and contestants,” per the statement. “We were made aware of a breach in those protocols, and after examining the situation, and out of abundance of caution, we determined that Ryan could not participate in our Monday night show without potentially putting others at risk. Therefore, we made the difficult decision to remove Ryan from the competition.”

Over the weekend Ryan Gallagher (formerly of Team Kelly Clarkson) hinted information was soon to come regarding his shocking exit from “The Voice” live shows. “It’s been a weird/stressful week,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a video of him singing an acoustic version of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” The Michigan native went on to update his fans, “I am grateful to each and every one of you for your continued support and love throughout this new development. Based on your responses to the Voice poll that followed Monday’s recap of Season 19’s Live Playoffs, Team Kelly Clarkson’s Madeline Consoer, Team John Legend’s Bailey Rae, Team Gwen Stefani’s Joseph Soul and Team Blake Shelton’s Four-Way Knockout survivor Taryn Papa were so near the end of their runs on the sing-off that they should’ve been able to see the checkered flag waving.

Last night on “The Voice,” the Top 17 artists gave it their all on the stage in the first live episode of Season 19. America voted overnight for their favorite artists, and by the end of Tuesday’s results show the Top 9 would be revealed. That’s right — a whopping eight contestants were about to be eliminated on live television. Talk about a bloodbath! Here’s how it works: the four highest-voted singers from each team will immediately sail through, and then each of the four coaches will then get to choose one person to advance. That leaves the ninth artist in America’s hands via the Twitter instant save. Here’s a closer look at each coach’s roster at the top of the show:
Team Kelly: Desz, Madeline Consoer, Tanner Gomes, Cami Clune
Team Gwen: Carter Rubin, Payge Turner, Joseph Soul, Ben Allen

“The Voice” contestant Ryan Gallagher was disqualified from the competition on Monday night after violating the show’s Covid-19 safety protocols.
The singer, who was selected to be on coach Kelly Clarkson’s team earlier in the season, was one of four competitors vying for the last spot in the live rounds leading into Monday’s episode, but was conspicuously absent when the winner was announced. Host Carson Daly offered no explanation, simply saying that Gallagher “had to exit the competition.”
According to a person close to production, Gallagher was removed from the show after violating the show’s rules surrounding Covid-19 safety. The details of his violation remain unclear. Representatives for NBC had no comment on the reasons for Gallagher’s exit.

Kelly Clarkson's team is down one member on The Voice. During the live performances on Monday night, host Carson Daly announced that classically trained vocalist Ryan Gallagher "had to exit the competition." Gallagher previously competed in the 4-Way Knockout last week and was a fan favorite in the competition. While NBC didn't give any more information about his departure, Gallagher posted a cryptic message about his exit online.
After previously announcing that his mother had been hospitalized with Covid-19, many fans speculated that his exit was family-related. However, on his Instagram Stories, the singer confirmed that his family is doing Ok and his exit wasn't related to that. "Thank you everybody for your concern for my family," he said in the clip. "However, everybody's fine; that's not the cause of what happened tonight on The Voice. I didn't drop out of the show. Details are still to come. I'll keep you posted.

Jeepers! And we thought the cuts that The Voice coaches made during the Battles and Knockouts had hurt. (Or at least I had; maybe you guys drink less coffee than I do, but you seemed to take it all more in stride.) Monday’s Live Playoffs set the stage for Season 19’s biggest round of eliminations — Tuesday’s results show would send packing eight singers. Which ones? Perhaps you can predict based on the below reviews of the Top 17’s performances. If you take into account my legendarily tin ear, you can probably assume with remarkable safety that anyone I...

At the start of Monday’s first live episode of “The Voice” Season 19, host Carson Daly broke some unfortunate news: Los Angeles resident Ryan Gallagher of Team Kelly Clarkson had to “exit the competition.” Ryan was one of the four-way knockout contenders and was a favorite to advance to the live performances thanks to America’s vote. So what happened?
NBC is keeping quiet about Ryan’s shocking predicament, with no specific reason given on the reality TV show. What we do know is that, as of Sunday night, Ryan was still gearing up for the lives as he posted three wardrobe choices on his personal Instagram (see below). That means whatever happened on Monday, it must have been an urgent matter. Perhaps Ryan will return one day in a future season of “The Voice”?

Truth be told, the list you are about to peruse, of our picks to make it to The Voice’s Season 19 Semi-Finals, is incomplete. Painfully so, as a matter of fact.

Now that “The Voice” blind auditions, battles and knockouts are behind us, Kelly Clarkson‘s team consists of exactly four artists heading into the Season 19 live shows. (A potential fifth artist depends on who America votes for to win the four-way knockout.) Clarkson joined “The Voice” family full-time as a coach in Season 14, after previously serving as an advisor. She immediately proved her worth as a coach, winning with artists Brynn Cartelli (Season 14), Chevel Shepherd (Season 15) and Jake Hoot (Season 17).

The blind auditions and the battles are a thing of the past, which means it’s now time for the knockouts on “The Voice.” In this round each coach pairs up two artists who’ll then perform their own songs on the big stage. One artist survives, the other is eliminated … unless a rival coach “steals” them for their own team. This year’s mega mentor was Usher, a former coach who prevailed in Season 6 with Josh Kaufman. Head-scratching choices are par for the course on The Voice. But usually, it’s the coaches’ moves that we call into question, right? Not Monday, though. The thing that made us — or at least me — go “hmm” was the show’s decision not to round out the Battles with the epic, epic one that went down between Team Kelly Clarkson’s Marisa Corvo and Ryan Gallagher. That was some Eurovision Song Contest-caliber firepower on display there! And if you read on, we’ll discuss not only what made it so remarkable but all of the evening’s performances.

The other advisors are Miguel for Team John Legend, Leon Bridges for Team Kelly Clarkson and Kane Brown for Team Blake Shelton. Heading into this battle episode, Gwen and Kelly both still had their “save” options in tact, while Blake was the only coach with a “steal” remaining. So how did it all play out?

“What’s up, y’all? I’m a pirate today. You’re welcome.” That’s how Kelly Clarkson introduced herself to her team members during Monday’s first battle round episode of “The Voice.” Donning a black eyepatch, the coach declared that fans may “notice something different” about her, but it’s nothing to be worried about. As she explained, “Something got in my eye and it got a little infected, so I have to wear an eyepatch.”
Kelly joked how the temporary fashion accessory made her look like a “really great supervillain.” However, it came with a bit of a hindrance as it almost caused her to put her straw up her nose. “I have no depth perception,” she laughed.

Eli Zamora, a 25-year-old singer from El Paso, Texas, was just eliminated on Monday’s first battle round episode of “The Voice.” His coach Kelly Clarkson teamed him up against Madeline Consoer to the Ricky Martin & Christina Aguilera song “Nobody Wants to Be Lonely.” Kelly and her battle advisor Leon Bridges mentored both aspiring artists, but in the end Kelly decided to advance Madeline to the knockouts. The other coaches opted not to save Eli, so he was sent packing. Watch “The Voice” battle video above.
When he first appeared on NBC’s reality TV show, Eli took on “Ya lo Se, Que Tu Te Vas” for his blind audition and was a one-chair turn for Kelly. After the first two episodes of “The Voice” Season 19 blind auditions, coach Kelly Clarkson had an early lead with five artists on her team: Joseph Soul, Eli Zamora, Marisa Corvo, Madeline Consoer and Ryan Gallagher. Meanwhile, Kelly’s co-judges Blake Shelton, John Legend and Gwen Stefani each had four artists apiece heading into the third episode. By the end of the blinds each coach will have 10 artists on their teams, making a Top 40, so we’re almost halfway there already. Which coach do you think acquired the best artists on Monday night?
