Daniel Castell is the Creative Director for series at Fabula, Production company founded by the Academy Awards winners Juan De Dios Larraín and Pablo Larraín.
He graduated as a journalist and Social Communicator from the Diego Portales University, and has a Master's degree in Creative Documentary Making from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. With 15 years of experience in the industry, he began his career in television as a journalist and reporter for CHV's central news show (Viacom CBS). Later he worked as a journalist in the BBC newsroom in London and as an audiovisual content editor in Canal 13 (Chile).
Since 2012 he has been working in the independent production industry, mainly for factual films and television (scripted & unscripted), working in a variety of roles: from director of macro photography for a children's series on insects produced for the BBC, to researcher and AP for a factual series of Discovery.
Between 2015 and 2023 he has worked for Fabula, first as a PD for various factual TV shows and since 2017 as a development producer and researcher, and executive producer on some projects. In 2020 Daniel became the Regional Head of Development of Fabula, for the OTT/TV and audio series projects.
Since 2023 he is the Creative Director for series, at Fabula.
