Attended the National Gourmet Cooking Institute in New York. After she graduated, she formed a company ("Bethenny Bakes") which provides wheat, egg, and dairy-free baked goods, meals for private clients and a custom-meal delivery service. Her clients include Michael J. Fox, Brooke Hogan, Alicia Silverstone and Paris Hilton.

Was in on-off relationship with Dennis Shields from 2016 until his death on August 10, 2018. They got engaged in April 2018. Frankel and Shields were friends for more than 20 years until they started dating. Shields died from prescription drug overdose at the age of 51.

Prior to becoming a chef, she produced large-scale entertainment events for Merv Griffin Productions in Los Angeles and founded "Any Event", a company dedicated to producing high-profile celebrity events.

Has a daughter, Bryn Casey Hoppy (b. May 8, 2010), with her ex-second husband Jason Hoppy.

First marriage to Peter Sussman in 1996 lasted only 8 months.

Was part of of a company called "Princess Pashmina", which was the first to import shawls and distribute them to Hollywood celebrities.

(February 20, 2012) Miscarried her second child with her husband Jason Hoppy at 2 months pregnant recently.

In August 2017, it was reported that she was undergoing a course of screening for skin cancer after a certain tumor began to grow on her face. On September 13th, it was confirmed that she was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma (the most common form of skin cancer), and the tumor under her eye has already been removed and Frenkel went on the amendment.

On December 16, 2018, she suffered near-fatal allergic reaction to fish which led to memory and vision problems.

(August 23, 2019) Has revealed that Bethenny and Jason are still legally married.

Her active lifestyle includes yoga, snowboarding and roller-blading.
