Merin Mary Philip is an Indian actress active in the Malayalam film industry, recognized for her compelling performances in films such as Vaathil (2023), Anchakkallakokkan (2024), and Sookshma Darshini (2024). Originally from Anchal, Kerala, she spent much of her upbringing in Abu Dhabi, where she cultivated an early passion for the performing arts.
Her introduction to acting began at the age of nine when theatre artist Biju Ishkannela guided her into theatre, leading to participation in various stage plays. By fourteen, she had joined the East Nela theatre group and later trained under Rajeev for Kadhaprasangam, a traditional Kerala performing art form. Her academic journey includes schooling at St. John's School in Anchal and Sunrise English Private School in Abu Dhabi, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Gregorian College of Advanced Studies, Thiruvananthapuram, and a course in journalism at the Institute of Journalism, Press Club, Trivandrum.
Merin transitioned to cinema with her debut in Poomaram (2018), directed by Abrid Shine, where she played a supporting role.
