Original Night at the Museum star Jacob Cherry opens up about his heartwarming experiences on the movie set.
Speaking to People, Cherry, who portrayed Nick Daley, the son of Ben Stiller's Larry, sang high praises of his Night at the Museum co-star. "[Ben] was really, the best way to put it is, just a normal guy," Cherry said. "One of my core memories – he showed me a Tenacious D music video, and he has a cameo in it. And he was so hyped that he was in this cameo… so just stuff like that. I got to see him as just like a normal person. There was no mask or anything like that."
Based on Milan Trenc's 1993 children's book, Night at the Museum premiered in 2006 and quickly established itself as a fan-favorite, family-friendly comedy. The film starred Stiller as Larry Daley, a night-shift security guard at the American Museum...

Snow White opened in theaters last month to largely negative reviews and struggled to make an impact at either the North American or international box offices. As of now, it's made only $145 million on a reported production budget of $270 million (that number goes up to $370 million with marketing costs factored in).
Thanks to Snow White, the studio appears to be rethinking its approach to live-action remakes. The Hollywood Reporter (via Toonado.com) brings word that Tangled has been shelved.
Tangled was in active development with The Greatest Showman and Better Man helmer Michael Gracey on board to direct from a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Thor: Love and Thunder).
A remake of the 2010 movie starring Mandy Moore and Donna Murphy, recent Tangled casting rumours have pointed to names like Sabrina Carpenter, Florence Pugh, Taylor Swift, and Agatha All Along star Kathryn Hahn all being eyed for their roles. There was...

It looks like another planned Disney live-action remake may be pausing production following a major disaster for the company!
Disney is no stranger to bombs in its history. It comes with the territory in Hollywood. Every studio has its share of box office flops, and Disney has experienced more than a few in the last several years, like Wish and The Marvels.
Snow White, on the other hand, is something else. The live-action adaptation of the first Disney animated feature film hasn't just flopped; it's an absolute epic disaster in every way for the company.
To start with the finances, the film, which cost a reported $270 million (and might even be bigger than that) has grossed only $69 million domestically and $150 million worldwide. Throw in marketing costs and Disney is looking at a loss of $115 million.
That's compounded by poor critical reviews of the film, with many praising star Rachel Zegler but attacking the poor script,...

Tangled is one of the most popular and beloved recent Disney movies. Which naturally led to a need for a live-action version.
Disney is known for its beloved animated Disney Princesses, which include both classic characters like Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, and Ariel, but also newcomers like Merida, Tiana, Moana, Raya, and Rapunzel. The latter got her own movie with the beloved 2010 animation Tangled. Disney was already working on developing a live-action version, but, per The Hollywood Reporter, the plans for the live-action Tangled are now paused amid its Snow White headaches.
There were conversations about the adaptation, but Disney confirmed the Tangled live-action remake in December 2024. Michael Gracey, who helmed critically acclaimed productions like The Greatest Showman and the Robbie Williams biopic Better Man, was in talks to direct. Jennifer Kayton Robinson, who helms the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer legacy sequel, wrote the draft for the script.

Snow White’s box office performance after two weekends in theaters is enough to help its leading star past a new box office milestone. At the time of writing, Disney’s Snow White has grossed $66 million at the domestic box office and $75 million internationally for a worldwide cumulative total of $142 million. This is not only enough to make it the second-highest-grossing movie of Rachel Zegler’s career, but also push her career global box office total past $700 million. Snow White opened with $42 million domestically at the box office, and the live-action adaptation then fell a startling 66% during its second weekend in theaters, grossing only $14 million. The tragic 2009 boating accident that claimed the lives of former University of South Florida football player Will Bleakley and ex-Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith is now being depicted onscreen by survivor Nick Schuyler.

A former DC star is open to returning to James Gunn and Peter Safran's rebooted Dcu, and some fans think she would make for a great Wonder Woman. Actress Grace Caroline Currey previously played Mary Bromfield in 2019's Shazam!, and even got to suit up as the hero Mary Marvel/Mary Shazam (known in the film as Super Hero Mary) in 2023's Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Both films were set in the previous Dceu continuity, and with the franchise now getting a reboot with James Gunn's Dcu, the two Shazam! films and its semi-adjacent spin-off, Black Adam, are no longer part of the franchise's plans. Despite this, Currey hopes to return the superhero world someday.
Speaking with The Direct, Currey was asked if she would ever return to the DC Universe, with the interview specifically citing how fans have fan-cast her as Wonder Woman. "That's a loaded question.

Many DC fans hope to see Wonder Woman feature prominently in the new-look DC Universe. Though there's uncertainty surrounding when Wonder Woman will appear and how often she does, one Shazam! star linked to the role admits it would be "wild" if she got to play Diana Prince.
Speaking with The Direct, Shazam! franchise star Grace Caroline Currey addressed fan castings that have her portraying Wonder Woman in James Gunn and Peter Safran's Dcu. The Mary Marvel actor stated it was "nice" to be considered for such a significant role and is open to the idea. "That's been very nice to see people say that," Currey said. "I think getting to be in the universe at all has been such a lottery kind of feeling that I don't know if I got to come back in any capacity, that'd be wild."

Dwayne Johnson played the role of Teth Adam in the Dceu film Black Adam, which was a failure at the box office and received middling reviews. However, the story behind the film’s making is more fascinating than the movie itself (which is not a huge feat but still). But, in the end, as Linkin Park said, it did not even matter as the franchise eventually got a reboot.
Johnson was set to change the hierarchy of power in the DC universe, but ended up promising too many things and delivering zilch. The Rock’s journey to becoming Black Adam and his desire to be the centre of the Dceu was a long one indeed, which involved him trying to get his hands on other IPs as well.

While Zachary Levi may have found box office success earlier in his career, thanks to his role as Fandral in both Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok, but it’s been quite some time since he starred in anything that could be considered a box office hit. Levi stars alongside Meghann Gahy in The Unbreakable Boy, the teen drama that debuted the weekend of February 21 and has still yet to hit its first box office milestone. At the time of writing, The Unbreakable Boy has collected $4.7 million at the box office, and while it may trudge past the $5 million mark later this week or early next, it stands no chance of reaching any significant milestone beyond that despite playing on over 1,500 screens.

The Oscars will honor the best movie of the year this Sunday, but the infamous Razzie Awards have crowned the “worst” of 2024’s films.
Sony’s much-derided superhero film “Madame Web” has the (dis)honor of winning three Razzies, including worst picture, actress for Dakota Johnson and screenplay. “Joker: Folie à Deux,” another divisive superhero entry,” led with seven nominations and took home screen combo for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga and prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel.
Francis Ford Coppola won for directing his big-budget epic “Megalopolis,” and star Jon Voight won supporting actor for the film — shared with his turns in “Reagan,” “Shadow Land” and “Strangers.” Coppola’s “Megalopolis” received six nominations, which was tied for second-most nods with “Madame Web,” “Borderlands” and “Reagan.”
The famed filmmaker responded to his Razzies on Instagram, saying “box office is only about money, and like war, stupidity and politics has no true place in our future.

"I am thrilled to accept the Razzie Award," he stated, "when so few have the courage to go against the prevailing trends of contemporary moviemaking!"
Coppola, a five-time Oscar winner, continued, "In this wreck of a world today, where Art is given scores as if it were professional wrestling, I chose to Not follow the gutless rules laid down by an industry so terrified of risk that despite the enormous pool of young talent at its disposal, may not create pictures that will be relevant and alive 50 years from now." He said it was an honor to "stand alongside a great and courageous filmmaker like Jacques Tati who impoverished himself completely...

The 45th Razzie Awards results are in. Sony’s Madame Web is the clear winner/loser of this year’s dragging of cinematic mediocrity with three wins, including Worst Picture, Worst Actress for Dakota Johnson, and Worst Screenplay. The Razzie results arrive two days before Oscar Sunday when films that some consider the best of the best have their chance to shine.
Madame Web taking the top prize is unsurprising given the movie’s abysmal quality. It was my worst film of 2024 and a Golden Schmoe nominee for worst movie of 2024, only to be beaten by Todd Phillips’s Joker: Folie a Deux. Dakota Johnson hardly tried to defend the film during its PR tour, saying she “probably will never make anything like it again.” To be fair, she enjoyed working with her castmates, who, despite circumstances, gave Madame Web the old college try, but the film turned into something...

The Academy Awards take place on Sunday evening and, as has become the tradition, the full list of "winners" from the 2025 Razzie Awards has just been unveiled.
Madame Web took three wins for "Worst Picture," "Worst Screenplay," and an arguably well-deserved "Worst Actress" for lead star Dakota Johnson. It wasn't the only comic book adaptation to walk away with a prize, though, as Joker: Folie à Deux nabbed "Worst Sequel" and "Worst Screen Combo" for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.
The vast majority of celebrities and filmmakers ignore the Razzies, while few interviewers have the nerve - and understandably so - to ask celebrities about their "wins."
However, Francis Ford Coppola, who earned "Worst Director" for his critically panned Megalopolis, issued a scathing retort on social media today.
"I am thrilled to accept the Razzie award in so many important categories for Megalopolis, and for the distinctive honor of being nominated as the worst director,...

While film fans will have to wait until Sunday to find out the winners of the 2025 Oscars, the worst in film this year, the winners of the 2025 Razzies, have been revealed.
Topping this year’s awards with three wins, including worst picture, is Sony’s critically panned box office bust Madame Web.
Madame Web also won worst actress for star Dakota Johnson and worst screenplay.
Johnson previously spoke out about her experience with Madame Web, saying the script radically changed from what she initially read and that she was unlikely to “do anything like it again.”
“It was definitely an experience for me to make that movie,” Johnson told Bustle in an interview that was published a few weeks after the film was released. “I had never done anything like it before. I probably will never do anything like it again, because I don’t make sense in that world.

“Four Down,” a documentary based on Nick Schuyler and Jere Longman’s best-selling book “Not Without Hope,” will open the 20th edition of the Sunscreen Film Festival on April 24 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Directed by Steven Cantor, the docu examines Schuyler’s harrowing 2009 rescue by the U.S. Coast Guard, 43 hours after a tragic boating accident in the Gulf of Mexico claimed the lives of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Marquis Cooper and Corey Smith, and Schuyler’s best friend and former University of South Florida teammate Will Bleakley. Schuyler was found near death, clinging to the engine mount of the capsized vessel 70 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.
The 95-minute hybrid doc was filmed on location in St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tampa, and at Lantica Studios in the Dominican Republic. For the film’s reenactment sequences, Cantor enlisted current commissioned U.S. Coast Guard members and officers. Interviews with Schuyler, members of the NFL community,...

Things are not looking good for Zachary Levi who has been coming up with one flop after the other. There is no doubt that the man is talented when it comes to his work – after all, he has brought characters like Shazam and Flynn Rider to life! However, lately, it seems like his portfolio is riddled with projects that underperform at the box office and now, he is adding The Unbreakable Boy to this list.

Released on the 21st of February, The Unbreakable Boy is an adaptation of the book, The Unbreakable Boy: A Father’s Fear, a Son’s Courage, and a Story of Unconditional Love, written by Scott Michael LeRette and Susy Flory. While the film promised a heartfelt depiction of a father-son relationship, the numbers don’t look like much.

“Captain America: Brave New World” is losing momentum at the box office, even during a muted winter weekend with hardly any competition.
After a strong $100 million start over the extended Presidents Day holiday frame, Disney and Marvel’s “Captain America: Brave New World” crumbed by 68% in its second weekend with $28.3 million from 4,105 North American theaters. The Anthony Mackie-led superhero adventure, which remained in first place on box office charts, has generated $141 million domestically and $289.4 worldwide to date. “Captain America” cost north of $180 million before marketing, making the production budget slightly less expensive than other Marvel tentpoles.
It’s not uncommon for comic book tentpoles on the scale of “Captain America” to significantly slide in subsequent weekends. Yet this film, saddled with negative reviews and poor word-of-mouth, fell on the steeper side with a drop closer to 2023’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania” (down 70% after a $106 million debut) than “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3...

How sunny and well-meaning and therapeutically feel-good is the new autism drama “The Unbreakable Boy?” It’s a movie in which the dad, played by Zachary Levi, has an imaginary best friend. It’s a movie in which the local church is run by a Matthew McConaughey sort of dude named Preacher Rick (Peter Facinelli), who’s so down with his downtrodden flock that he himself is a recovering alcoholic who admits he sometimes doesn’t like to go to church. And it’s a movie in which the title character, an owlish 13-year-old named Austin (Jacob Laval), isn’t merely autistic. He also suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta, which means that his bones are extraordinarily fragile, so that he’s like some teen-geek version of Mr. Glass in “Unbreakable.” Speaking to the audience in voiceover, Austin lists his bone breaks, which number in the high twenties, as if they were Pokémon cards he was collecting.

Neon’s horror comedy “The Monkey” is seeing and doing a strong opening weekend, though it’ll take silver at the box office behind Disney’s “Captain America: Brave New World,” still on top of the charts but facing a substantial tumble in its second weekend.
“The Monkey” chopped into an estimated $5.8 million from 3,200 theaters across Friday and preview screenings. That puts it on track for Neon’s second-biggest opening weekend ever, only falling behind director Osgood Perkins’ prior horror film at the banner, last summer’s breakout “Longlegs.” Reviews have been positive for this follow-up, though audiences are mixed with ticketbuyer survey firm Cinema Score logging a “C+.” Horror films skew lower in those polls though; beyond that, “Longlegs” notched the same middling grade before legging out a healthy 3.31x multiplier on its opening weekend.
Even only taking into account this opening weekend, “The Monkey” is in a great position.

It looks like the truth might be coming out after all. After Elon Musk once made bold claims stating that Donald Trump would disclose the names of celebrities involved in the Epstein Island mess if elected President, the world has been wondering if there would be a follow-up or not. If Donald Trump decides to go ahead and release the documents, it would not only put the careers of many in jeopardy but would also reveal some dark secrets of the industry we couldn’t possibly have known otherwise.

Zachary Levi believes that endorsing Donald Trump’s bid to become the President of the United States again “was more important than saving” his own 25-year-old acting career. The Chuck and Shazam! star’s political beliefs “trumped” — obvious pun intended — any worries he had about losing job opportunities in Hollywood, and he continues to act today, even after jumping aboard the "Trump Train" for all to witness. Levi said on The Megyn Kelly Show, while doing the press tour for his new film The Unbreakable Boy:
"I felt peace because I knew that this was more important than saving my career. I think we too often fall into these paradigms, these thought processes of self-preservation, and it is not good. We need to be wise, and we want to survive, and we want to live and flourish and all those things, but we can’t merely make decisions off of,...

The “Hung Up” singer took to social media to comment on Trump’s Truth Social post, in which he likened himself to a king.
“Congestion Pricing Is Dead. Manhattan, and all of New York, is Saved,” he wrote. “Long Live The King!”
The White House’s social media team took it further and shared Trump’s quote on Instagram. In addition to the quote in the caption, Trump’s team shared an image that channeled a Time magazine cover with the Potus wearing a crown.
“Long live the thing,” read the fake illustration of the fake magazine cover.

Four years after it was originally intended to be released, “The Unbreakable Boy” is now in theaters, and yes, it’s based on a true story about a real family.
The film centers on Austin (Jacob Laval), a young boy who is born with brittle bone disease. When his parents, Scott (Zachary Levi) and Teresa (Meghann Fahy), learn that he’s also autistic, they worry about what the future holds.
“But with Scott’s growing faith and Austin’s incredible spirit, they become ‘unbreakable,’ finding joy, gratitude, and courage even in the most trying times — an extraordinary true story about a father and son learning together that every day can be the best day of your life!” the official synopsis reads.
The question with any true story onscreen, though, is how much is really true?

The Unbreakable Boy is a father’s loving tribute to his son. Based on the novel “The Unbreakable Boy: A Father’s Fear, a Son’s Courage, and a story of Unconditional Love by Scott Michael LeRette. It’s a sweet story from a dad connecting to his son. In the Jon Gunn directed feature based on the book, Zachary Levi stars as Scott, and Jacob Laval stars as Austin, a young man diagnosed with a rare brittle-bone disease and autism. Also starring Patricia Heaton, Meghann Fahy, and Peter Facinelli, who also is one of the film’s producers.

The thing about separating the art from the artist is that people are typically a lot more inclined to do so if the “art” isn’t a generic piece of faith-based schlock, and the “artist” hasn’t made a variety of disqualifying comments that pertain directly to the subject of their latest film. Case in point: It’s tough to accept Zachary Levi as the beleaguered father of an autistic child when the former “Shazam!” star has publicly sworn his allegiance to a man who believes that vaccines cause autism.
In a perfect vacuum, I suppose it would be possible to watch “The Unbreakable Boy” as a benign — if uncommonly basic — addition to the ever-growing subgenre of “inspirational” movies in which neurodivergent munchkins are used as human props for their parents’ spiritual growth. The “Shazam” star made these remarks during an appearance on “The Megyn Kelly Show” while promoting his new film, “The Unbreakable Boy.”
Levi initially endorsed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president but shifted his support to Trump once he became the Republican nominee. Zack Snyder has been immortalized in the eyes of DC fans. Spending years building some very iconic projects, he will never be forgotten even though the franchise is moving on to a different phase. While there is no denying that his Dceu was beloved for many reasons, some research showcases that his pick in the cast doesn’t seem to have a very good public image.

While many actors have skeletons in their closets, the entire Justice League has been involved in some or the other controversy at some point in their careers, which is quite concerning. However, where others are in the clear now, Zachary Levi’s dance with getting himself canceled seems to be never-ending.

Zachary Levi has no remorse over his support for Donald Trump and has felt “at peace” with his decision.
The Shazam actor appeared on The Megyn Kelly Show to discuss his new film, The Unbreakable Boy. He reflected on why it was important for him to openly endorse Trump.
“I felt peace because I knew that this was more important than saving my career,” Levi said. “I think we too often fall into these paradigms, these thought processes of self-preservation, and it is not good. We need to be wise and we want to survive and we want to live and flourish and all those things, but we can’t merely make decisions off of, ‘Well I hope nothing bad happens to me.’ You got to sacrifice.'”
Levi boarded the Trump train during a rally in Michigan in September 2024 after his preferred candidate, Rfk Jr., dropped out of the race.

Levi officially endorsed Trump at a rally in Michigan on Sept. 28 before introducing a conversation between Rfk Jr.

The following contains spoilers for The Unbreakable Boy, in theaters Feb. 21, 2025.
Lionsgate is attempting to fill the feel-good family movie void with The Unbreakable Boy, based on the memoir of the same name by Scott LeRette and both written and directed by Jon Gunn. Telling the true story of Scott and his autistic son Austin, the film feels like a throwback to a not-so-distant past with all its charm and awkwardness – and this could have been just the refreshing change of pace audiences needed. However, while The Unbreakable Boy aspires to relatable wholesomeness, it doesn't quite reach its own goals.
The Unbreakable Boy follows the LeRette family -- comprised of Scott (played by Zachary Levi), his wife Teresa (Meghann Fahy), and their sons Austin (Jacob Laval) and Logan (Gavin Warren). After Austin is diagnosed with osteogeneis imperfecta -- also known as "brittle bone syndrome" -- and autism, Scott must put...

Zachary Levi is reflecting on why it was more important to be candid about his support for Donald Trump than worry about his career.
While on SiriusXM’s The Megyn Kelly Show, the Shazam! actor recalled being asked by Tulsi Gabbard to moderate a town hall that she and Robert Kennedy Jr. were doing in support of Trump. Despite initially feeling hesitant to do so, Levi said he “felt peace” after doing it.
“I felt peace because I knew that this was more important than saving my career,” he told Kelly. “I think we too often fall into these paradigms, these thought processes of self-preservation, and it is not good. We need to be wise and we want to survive and we want to live and flourish and all those things, but we can’t merely make decisions off of ‘Well I hope nothing bad happens to me.’ You got to sacrifice.

There’s an awful lot to handle in The Unbreakable Boy. Not only for the characters but also the audience. Here’s a sampling: autism, brittle bone disease, alcoholism, financial struggles and marital difficulties. It’s based on a true story, so you can’t say the plot elements are contrived (well, actually you can). And it’s all supposed to be wonderfully inspirational, no less. It’s the type of film seemingly designed to make you feel morally deficient if you don’t come away singing its praises.
Well, consider me tone-deaf, because this drama directed by Jon Gunn (Ordinary Angels) is an ordeal. It’s not surprising to learn that the film has been sitting on the shelf for nearly four years after its originally planned release. It feels too heavy to pick up.
