- In addition to the NWA World title, also held the National, Southern, Florida, Missouri, and Mid-Atlantic titles in the singles ranks. Held the World, North American, U.S., Florida, and Georgia tag team championships with brother Gerald Brisco .
- Turned down a football scholarship at the University of Oklahoma to wrestle at Oklahoma State.

- Was a major player in the 1980's wrestling promotional wars when he, brother Gerald, and famed promoter Jim Barnett sold controlling interest in Georgia Championship Wrestling, Inc. to Vince McMahon. This gave McMahon's Titan Sports (now World Wrestling Entertainment) the much-coveted time slot on Ted Turner's SuperStation TBS (which at the time was the highest-rated cable show of any kind).
