Sandra Hüller was born in Suhl. She studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. For her performance of Anneliese Michel in Hans-Christian Schmid's drama Requiem she won The Silver Bear for Best Actress. She is internationally known for her starring role in Maren Ade's Toni Erdmann, for which she won among others the European Film Award and the Toronto Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress.
She has starred in German, Austrian, British and French films.
She was named Best Newcomer Actress by the Theater Heute in 2003 for
her performances in "Romeo und Julia" and "Die sexuellen Neurosen
unserer Eltern" at the Theater Basel.
She has a daughter, Ruby (b.2011).
She studied at the Ernst Busch Acting Academy in Berlin from 1996 to
2000.
