Melissa McCarthy brought the fun to the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday (March 10) at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The 53-year-old actress switched up her look with a leather dress, featuring what looks to be a lion head door knocker on the front, and she carried a bedazzled cannoli purse.
Melissa was, of course, once again joined by her husband Ben Falcone, after the two also attended the Oscars earlier in the night.
During the awards show, Melissa reunited with her Thunder Force co-star Octavia Spencer to present Best Original Screenplay.
While on their way to the Oscars, Ben shared a couple photos from inside their car.

Last night, millions tuned into the 2024 Super Bowl. As has become a capitalist tradition, even people who aren't football fans watched the big game just to see all of the big new commercials, man of which feature some of the biggest stars in Hollywood. In addition to new trailers for upcoming blockbusters like "Deadpool and Wolverine" and "Twisters," there were also some hilarious commercials with Ben Affleck forming a hip-hop group with Matt Damon for Dunkin and Arnold Schwarzenegger reuniting with his "Twins" co-star Danny DeVito for State Farm insurance. But none of those ads were the most watched on YouTube during Super Bowl Sunday.
You might be asking yourself, if everyone is watching the Super Bowl, how do you determine the most watched commercial? Well, according to Variety, this is based on YouTube's own viewing stats that it measured worldwide on gameday, starting February 11 from 12:00am Et until...

“Incognito” has been selected at more than 20 international film festivals, including the Oscar-qualifying Palm Springs Shortfest, Tirana and LA Shorts, and is a 2024 Oscar contender in the live action short film category, where candidates from India include “Nocturnal Burger” and “The Broken Table.”

SAG-AFTRA may still be on strike, but studios are, nevertheless, pushing their Oscar contenders to garner the adequate (and allowed) attention they need to land nominations.
One of the main methods is getting industry voters out to screenings and making films available on the Academy Screening Room and BAFTA screening platforms. With the two significant organizations banning physical DVD screeners, voting members rely on the respective digital viewing portals to catch up on some of this year’s contenders vying for awards consideration.
Read: Variety’s Awards Circuit for the latest Oscars predictions in all categories.
The Academy performs a heavy vetting process for each film that chooses to submit for consideration. Historically, over 300 movies are in the running for best picture consideration, with more films joining the fray over the next several months. Distributors are the ultimate decision-makers of when a movie is placed in the Academy Screening Room for viewing.

Outfest kicked off July 13 at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Amandla Stenberg, who received the Platinum Maverick Award from the LGBTQ film festival, skipped the festivities in support of the actors walkout. Jacqueline Castel, director of Stenberg’s new indie,...

Melissa McCarthy started her career doing improvisational comedy at The Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles, which is also where she met her husband Ben Falcone. She then went on to a successful run on the TV series “Gilmore Girls” for seven seasons. She followed that up with other TV shows and small movie roles but it would be a return to The Groundlings crew that would launch her into super-stardom. Her former castmates Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo wrote a female gross-out comedy called “Bridesmaids” and cast McCarthy along with other Groundlings veterans Maya Rudolph and Wendi McLendon-Covey. The film would become a surprise hit in the genre which was usually dominated by men and even earn McCarthy an Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actress.

Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone have boarded “Relighting Candles: The Tim Sullivan Story” as executive producers.
The documentary short, co-directed by Zeberiah Newman (“Unexpected”) and Michiel Thomas (“Game Face”), is a portrait of West Hollywood candlemaker Tim Sullivan. It chronicles the 82-year-old Bronx native’s journey coming out as a gay man, how he got sober more than 40 years ago and his tradition of hiring homeless and newly sober people at his company, Timothy Jay Candles.
McCarthy and Falcone tell me in a statement, “Once we heard the lovely story of Tim Sullivan and began to understand how many people he’s helped in his life through the making of beautiful candles, we realized these filmmakers were telling exactly the kind of story we want to help get out into the world.”

You wouldn't know it from the couple's social media platforms, but Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone have the coolest kids on the planet. The comedy duo - who refrain from posting about their kids on social media aside from rare photos where their faces are obscured - have had their fair share of funny moments on screen, but their two daughters, Vivian and Georgette, are just as funny - if not more - say the couple.
"It's a balancing act. Kids are really smart," McCarthy told People at the 2016 premiere of "The Boss." "They pick up on everything and then you still have to not laugh in front of them as you tell them that something's not appropriate, or something might be too aggressive. Then, when they leave the room . . ."
"You laugh really hard," Falcone chimed in.

McCarthy explained that she and her husband and creative partner Ben Falcone have a “no screamers or crazy egos” on their sets, in contrast to her negative experience.
“I did work for someone once who ran such a volatile, hostile set that it made me physically ill,” she said, not naming the director. “My eyes were swelling up, I was absorbing all of this nuttiness.”
She continued, “There were people weeping, visibly so upset by this one person. And I think that’s why the manipulation worked, because to get to me, this person would fire people I loved, which kept me quiet.

Melissa McCarthy is opening up about a work environment she found herself in that she deemed as “hostile, volatile.”
The Little Mermaid star didn’t say what film set this took place in nor who the person was, but she recalled feeling “physically ill” from the tense workplace conditions she was subjected to.
“I did work for someone once who ran such a volatile, hostile set that it made me physically ill. My eyes were swelling up, I was absorbing all of this nuttiness,” McCarthy told The Observer.
She continued, “There were people weeping, visibly so upset by this one person. And I think that’s why the manipulation worked, because to get to me, this person would fire people I loved, which kept me quiet. It was very effective.”
Although McCarthy says she had initially remained quiet, there came a point where she raised her voice to call out the hostile work conditions.

Melissa McCarthy said she worked for someone in Hollywood who created a set so “volatile” and “hostile” it made her physically ill, but that the experience led to her learning how to advocate for herself in Hollywood.
The Little Mermaid actress spoke about the experience in an extensive interview with The Guardian, in which she also talks about her breaking into Hollywood, dealing with critics of her performances and running her production company, which she does with husband Ben Falcone.
While discussing how she and Falcone vet hires for their productions, she admits that kindness on their sets is part of the deal of working with them. “We were so astounded and grateful at getting to build our own little worlds, we were like, ‘We have to build the one we’ve always talked about, where everybody gets to have an opinion and everyone is really nice. Melissa McCarthy had two very special dates for the premiere of "The Little Mermaid" on May 8. With the comedy icon were her husband, Ben Falcone, and their youngest daughter, Georgette Falcone, who turned 13 this March. It was a rare public appearance for the teen as Melissa and Ben have usually kept their kids out of the spotlight. The pair also share a daughter, Vivian, who turned 16 on May 5. Vivian also attended the premiere, but did not pose for photos.
At the Monday night movie premiere, Melissa wore a blue gown with ruffles and fringe, evoking the underwater splendor of her character Ursula, the iconically villainous half-woman, half-octopus. Georgette and Ben, meanwhile, matched each other in black, with Georgette's corset giving her dress an appropriately swash-buckling vibe.

Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry-Housley turned "The Little Mermaid" world premiere into a mother-daughter date night. The famous sisters brought their daughters - 5-year-old Cairo Tiahna Hardrict and 7-year-old Ariah Talea Housley, respectively - to the star-studded event in Hollywood on May 8, marking the foursome's first time walking the red carpet together. They each dressed on theme for the occasion; Mowry paired a white t-shirt with a floral sequin miniskirt, Cairo looked adorable in a sparkly unicorn dress and denim jacket, Mowry-Housley chose a blue ombré gown, and Ariah subtly matched her cousin in a light purple tulle dress.
Before heading to the premiere, Mowry shared an Instagram Stories video with Cairo explaining how much it means to watch Halle Bailey be the main star of the live-action Disney remake. Get in line, because Cocaine Bear has made its way to Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital following a successful theatrical run. The “Maximum Rampage Edition” features several featurettes, including a fun audio commentary by director/producer Elizabeth Banks and producer (and Banks’ husband) Max Handelman.
Here are eight things I learned from the Cocaine Bear commentary…
1. The film opens with a Wet Hot American Summer reference.
Cocaine Bear opens to the tune of Jefferson Starship’s “Jane,” which many will recognize as the theme song to Wet Hot American Summer, the film in which Banks got her start. She explains:

Chris Farley was a comic genius. The "Saturday Night Live" comedian brought us incredible characters like the dancer auditioning for Chippendale's with Patrick Swayze, one of the Gap Girls, Todd O'Connor from Bill Swerski's Superfans, and of course, Matt Foley, the motivational speaker who lives in a van down by the river. Farley, who passed away from a drug overdose at the age of 33 in 1997, created the character with Bob Odenkirk ("Better Call Saul") when they were both a part of the Second City comedy group before SNL.
Matt Foley first showed up in 1993 in a sketch where he attempted to motivate two teens (David Spade and Christina Applegate) to stop using drugs. The character appeared for the last time during Farley's first hosting gig on the show, two months before his death.
To this day, there is no one that I can think of who commits to a comedy bit more than Farley did.

Sometimes, an on-screen couple is simply that – actors convincing their audience of burning passion through sheer talent.
On other occasions, the performance ends up sparking real-world romance that leads to wedding bells and the pitter-patter of small feet.
And then, there are some TV and film pairings that began in reality, long before they transferred to our screens.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been rife with cameos over the last fifteen years, from television hosts to hubristic billionaires who pick fights with rock stars. In Phase Four, the very nature of what makes a cameo was tested. Minor characters popped up for full episodes of "She-Hulk." Kevin Bacon played himself and became the McU-canon lynchpin of the "Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special." Bacon's ecstatic turn as himself pursued by Drax and Mantis is too substantial to be a cameo, but it works because it's cameo-adjacent. Great cameos take a recognizable actor or character and deploy them surprisingly for a brief period. Even if Bacon's appearance was supersized, it works because he seemed destined for the MCU in a marquee role. Here, director James Gunn takes advantage of the actor's self-awareness and makes him important to beloved Marvel characters.
The best cameos in Phase Four achieve similar highs.

Actress Melissa McCarthy messed up a sex talk with her daughter as she did it while picking up dog poo. The 52-year-old actress revealed that she is aiming to do “better” next time she tackles the subject, which she initially tried the day before her 15-year-old girl Vivian’s school covered the topic in health class, reports aceshowbiz.com.
McCarthy said that she didn’t want to let “someone else initiate that conversation with my child,” but she said on the “We Can Do Hard Things” podcast “I did (it) incredibly awkwardly.” The actress, who also shares daughter Georgette with husband Ben Falcone, additionally joked trying to talk to Vivian about sex while bending over to pick up dog mess was a “really wonderful time” to chat.
She added: “Vivi just goes, ‘Oh dear God, is this happening?’ And I was like, ‘There are different parts of bodies… uh… I was just like,...

The “Bridesmaids” actress was a guest on Glennon Doyle’s podcast, “We Can Do Hard Things“, where she shared how she talks about sex and relationships with her daughters,15-year-old Vivian and 12-year-old Georgette.

McCarthy opened up about how growing up in a religious family and attending Catholic school, her personal sex education included “a lot about Mary and the Immaculate Conception.” So she hoped to be...

Melissa McCarthy may be a popular name in comedic movie roles, where she is often the lead actress, but her husband has played a pivotal role in her growth as a unique Hollywood actress. Steve Carell has taken on plenty of memorable roles in his life, from the depressed scholar Frank in "Little Miss Sunshine" to the sexually frustrated Andy in "The 40-year old Virgin" to sweet supervillain Gru in "Despicable Me." Yet no matter how many great performances he puts in, he'll always be known first and foremost to many people as Michael Scott from "The Office." The tactless, cringe-inducing, hilarious boss of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company is the sun around which all the show's workplace chaos revolves.
"The Office" wouldn't have succeeded without Carell's faux-sly glances to camera, perfectly uncomfortable line deliveries, and contagious outbursts of laughter. Yet as with so many great roles, it almost went to someone else. In fact, lots of familiar names were considered for the role.
