After an incredible third installment, the hit sci-fi horror series From was renewed for a 10-episode fourth season in November 2024, and fans have been buzzing with excitement ever since. Everyone wants to know what new horrors await the residents of the nightmarish town, but unfortunately, we won't be seeing this beloved show return to our screens until sometime next year.
From season 4 was confirmed for a 2026 release when the renewal was announced. Production on the fourth season is slated to begin this year in Nova Scotia, where the previous three seasons were shot, but a filming start date has not been revealed. Also, given that this show heavily utilizes special effects, we can likely expect a longer post-production period. This is likely the reason why we won't be seeing From season 4 until next year. It's the lengthy filmmaking process. While this is extremely disappointing for fans, we're expecting the wait...

Lost became an instant hit when the series debuted on ABC in 2004. Over two decades later, one of the show's writers, Drew Goddard, addressed the possibility of revisiting the franchise.
Speaking to Variety, Goddard said that while there have been no official discussions about a revival, he will never rule out the possibility. "I loved working on that show so much, and I loved what we did," he explained. "I always feel strongly that I don't want to just do karaoke of the show I used to do. I'd only be interested if we felt like we could do something special and new within the construct of the show. And then some of it just comes down to time and appetite. So there's no plan for it today. But never say never."

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for From season 3.
Since debuting in 2022, From has gained increasingly more acclaim, and garnered comparisons to another hit series – Lost. The comparisons are partly due to the creative talent involved in both series. Harold Perrineau, who played Michael Dawson in Lost, leads From's cast of characters in the role of Boyd Stevens. Lost's Jack Bender, who was one of the show's executive producers and a director of iconic episodes like "Walkabout" and "The Constant," is also an executive producer and frequent director of From.
Beyond the overlap in creative talent, there are similarities between From and Lost's premises and their overall narrative approaches. There is an overarching sense of mystery and intrigue, and while many Lost and From mysteries are solved, the answers often lead to more questions. Both series also have ensemble casts, and as seen in From season 3's ending, both...

Quick Links Walt Had A Connection To the Island What Happened When Walt Left the Island? Walt Likely Became Protector Of the Island
Lost is most well-known for its deep analysis of its diverse cast of characters. From John Locke to Mr. Eko -- Lost took its time and crafted satisfying stories for the majority of its main characters. However, one character's story seemed to abruptly end without a satisfying resolution. That character was Walt Lloyd, a young boy with a special connection to the Island's source.
But how was Walt special? What was his ultimate destiny, and why did he seemingly disappear from the narrative? While these questions are considered unanswered by much of the show's audience, Lost provided enough context for viewers to understand the importance of Walt. Viewers can even figure out what Walt would be doing following the show's ending, thanks to the epilogue episode, "New Man In Charge,...

We have to go baaaaaack… to the night that ABC’s Lost first splashed onto the airwaves.
Sunday, Sept. 22 marks the 20th anniversary of the supernatural-tinged mystery drama’s debut. So we thought it a good opportunity to flash back — not forward, nor sideways — to the two-hour premiere that aired across a pair of Wednesdays in September 2004, cost a record $10 million to $14 million to make (versus the industry average at that time of $4 million), and averaged 18 million total viewers.

Although many of us here at /Film insist that "Lost" was far better at answering its many mysteries than it gets credit for, there's admittedly one loose end that still haunts us 14 years after the series concluded: what was the deal with Walt (Malcolm David Kelley)? Although the kid himself never got his own flashback episode, we saw in his father's episode that there was something strange going on with him.
"Things happen when he is around," Michael (Harold Perrineau) is told by Walt's step-dad Brian. When Walt's reading a book about birds pre-plane crash, a bird crashes into a nearby window; when he's reading a book about polar bears post-crash, a polar bear shows up. As showrunner Damon Lindelof would put it in on the season 1 DVD, "Walt is psychic."
Back during season 1, most fans assumed the show had something planned for this. They figured Walt would turn out...

Michael betrayed his allies to save his son, making the painful choice to kill Ana Lucia and Libby. Harold Perrineau felt Michael never redeemed himself after committing the murders. The cliffhanger of Michael killing Ana Lucia and Libby was a twist based on complex character motivations.
Even after multiple viewings of Lost, some fans still wonder, "Why did Michael kill Ana Lucia and Libby?" Michael Dawson (Harold Perrineau) is one of the show's most tragic and he kills Ana Lucia Cortez (Michelle Rodriguez) and Libby Smith (Cynthia Watros) for a dark reason. Michael and his son Walt (Malcolm David Kelley) end up on the island after Michael gained custody when Walt's mother died of an illness, and while they have a fractured relationship, Michael loves his child and would do anything for him.
That includes attempts to find a way off the island, which meant striking a deal with consequences.

This article contains spoilers for the Lost finale and the epilogue “The New Man In Charge.”
Perhaps you may have heard, but the Lost finale was a touch controversial. As one of the biggest network TV dramas of all time and one of pop culture’s great “mystery box” stories, this ABC series had a lot of questions to answer in its final season.
Some would argue that Lost did a mostly fine job of resolving its many mysteries. In fact, that’s the official position taken here at Den of Geek. Many others, however, have found the finale’s focus on emotional catharsis over logical resolutions to be unsatisfying. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, something that the latter crowd sometimes misses in their interpretation of the Lost finale is that “The End” isn’t really the end. That’s right: there’s an epilogue to the Lost...

Lost actor Maggie Grace recently reflected on her role, revealing her exit from the iconic show is "still the worst heartbreak" of her career and that she was "devastated" after her character died in the sixth episode of Season 2. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the hit ABC drama series.
In an interview with The Independent, Grace admitted she thought her character's arc on Lost still had some way to go, "I thought they were gonna take her a little further," she said. In response to whether she was ready to exit the series, Grace stated, "No! It's still the worst heartbreak of my career. I was devastated." The actor ultimately understood the decision to end Shannon's run, "Well, I mean, I do [Shannon] was sort of a caricature of white privilege before that was a phrase, you know? And maybe I was just too good at my assigned job of being incredibly annoying.

Walt's importance on Lost was vital, yet his main character status ended early on. Walt and Michael left the island in season 2 finale, leading to a strained relationship. Walt's psychic abilities and return to the island with Hurley and Ben were key plot points.
Walt had an eventful journey on Lost, even if much of it wasn't shown onscreen. Played by Malcolm David Kelley, Walt Lloyd was the subject of one of Lost's biggest mysteries at the onset of the story. However, Walt ceased being a main character years before the saga reached its conclusion in the Lost series finale.

Lost faced criticism for its lack of diversity and problematic portrayal of race, despite initial acclaim for its diverse cast. Lost's finale was widely regarded as disappointing, with a divisive ending that failed to live up to viewers' expectations and damaged the show's reputation.

To say Lost is a controversial TV show would be oversimplifying the complexity of its many flaws. Don’t get me wrong, I’m part of the fanbase that is very satisfied with the closure the finale gave us. But for every smart creative choice, there were also a few of them that defied the audience’s patience and suspension of disbelief. It can be argued that plot twists leaning toward mythology weigh more, like the finale not taking place in a volcano after teasing it seasons back, or how a tower-sized statue of Taweret appeared on the island. But it’s a character twist that made the least sense — Michael’s (Harold Perrineau) betrayal of the group of survivors. It’s understandable he did it to rescue his son Walt (Malcolm David Kelley), but the execution seemed rushed and, ultimately, it undermined Michael’s character evolution.

ABC‘s Lost was a massive hit in the early 2000s, ushering in a change in the landscape of network television. Yet, the behind-the-scenes was filled with drama, with several former writers and stars now speaking out about the alleged “toxic” work environment. The claims come from Maureen Ryan‘s new book Burn It Down, Power, Complicity and A Call For Change in Hollywood (out June 6), an excerpt from which was published in Vanity Fair. In the section, Ryan speaks with many of the show’s former writers and actors, including Harold Perrineau, who played Michael Dawson on the Emmy-winning series. Perrineau talked about how he was uncomfortable with an episode in Season 2 where Michael didn’t seem to care about the whereabouts of his son Walt (Malcolm David Kelley) after he was kidnapped and how the episode instead focused on Josh Holloway‘s Sawyer. “I can’t be another...

A new bombshell Lost report details the show's toxic behind-the-scenes culture over a decade after it ended. Co-created by Damon Lindelof, Lost follows the survivors of a plane crash on a mysterious island with a large ensemble cast that included Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway, Ian Somerhalder, Maggie Grace, Harold Perrineau, Malcolm David Kelley, Terry O'Quinn, Naveen Andrews, Emilie de Ravin, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, and Dominic Monaghan. Aired on ABC from 2004 to 2010, Lost was a smash hit over six seasons, though the show apparently suffered a toxic culture behind the scenes.
An investigative report by Vanity Fair spoke to over a dozen people who worked on Lost in various roles, many of them women and people of color, who detailed a dark and complicated culture. Perrineau, who was temporarily written off the show after season 2, clashed with the showrunners because he didn't think Lost respected its characters of color.

If Lost ever returned to pop culture with a reboot, there are characters from the original run that still have more stories to tell. The original series was a major cultural hit in its run from 2004 until 2010, becoming one of the first series to have its audience engage on the internet to discuss the show and its various mysteries. The series had a highly devoted fanbase in its time, some of which still actively engage with the show and its culture today.
But due to its controversial ending, Lost has unfortunately not held on to its reputation for great storytelling like other series from the era did, such as Mad Men or Breaking Bad. However, a successful Lost spin-off could be the solution to this, allowing newer audiences to engage with the world of the island and its inhabitants. For a show to run as a sequel to the original series,...

With some many TV shows being rebooted over the last several years, it's worth wondering if the time has come for Lost to get the same treatment. The ABC series, which had a memorable six-season run, was a huge hit for the network and was easily one of the most talked-about TV shows of its time. Given its continued popularity years afters its conclusion in 2010, Lost has repeatedly been discussed as a prime candidate for a revival.
The creators of Lost have expressed disinterest in returning to helm a new series based in Lost's universe, but the possibility of ABC revisiting the concept hasn't been ruled out. The number of successful shows from the 2000s being brought back in recent years has only served to fuel speculation surrounding Lost's chances of being resurrected either on ABC or Disney+. The show's story was concluded and its mysteries were solved,...

Long before the days of "Breaking Bad," "Game of Thrones," and "Stranger Things," "Lost" was the "must-see" television show that everyone was obsessed with. You simply had to tune in to ABC each week to see the latest shocking plot twist. That shows how radically the entertainment industry has changed. Today, blockbuster shows with budgets that rival feature films are just as high profile as Hollywood's superhero movies. "Lost" set the precedent for the future of entertainment.
In addition to the stunning spectacle of the series, "Lost" employed some creative talents who would go on to be incredibly influential. The series was developed by Damon Lindelof, who would later create both the HBO sci-fi drama "The Leftovers" and the inventive reworking of "Watchmen." The pilot of "Lost" was directed by J.J. Abrams, and the brilliant score from Michael Giacchino made the show feel just as epic as anything that you'd see on the big screen.

Fans of Insecure know more about Molly’s parents and siblings than the families of any other character on the popular HBO sitcom. It’s a familiarity that will matter as Season 5 progresses, says L. Scott Caldwell, who has played Molly’s mom CeeCee for four seasons.
For instance, in Sunday’s Episode 2, Molly (Yvonne Orji) scolded her parents for not meeting with an estate planner. By the installment’s end, however, Molly called her mother and apologized for being so stern.

We have to go baaaaaack… to the night that ABC’s Lost first splashed onto the airwaves.
This Saturday, May 23, marks the 10th anniversary of the supernatural-tinged mystery drama’s grand finale. So we thought it a good opportunity to flash back — not forward, nor sideways — to the two-hour premiere that aired across a pair of Wednesdays in September 2004, cost a record $10 million to $14 million (versus that time’s industry average of $4 million), and averaged 18 million total viewers.

'Still-living history' See previous post: “'Detroit' Movie: Kathryn Bigelow 1967 Riots Depiction 'Horribly Real' & 'Deeply Self-Serving'.” But I'm a Black American from the 1960s, who knows this history as a history of the lives of my people in this nation. From uprisings in Philly and Harlem, to those in Watts and Ferguson (where I lived for years), these stories have been lived and told from generation to generation with the specific intention of keeping me and black boys like me alive. The idea that the police could and did kill black folks anywhere, at anytime, for any reason – or no reason at all – has been a baseline of understanding in black communities for 400 years, give or take a week or two during Reconstruction and Bill Clinton's first election. For Black Americans, the events of Detroit '67 are not the events of a “dramatic thriller.” They are the events of a tragedy and still-living history we...

Last week was probably the best week of the year for me yet, screening wise. Not only did I lay eyes on Dunkirk at last, but I also got a chance to see Kathryn Bigelow’s latest film. That film, in case you’re not aware, is Detroit and it quickly stood up next to Dunkirk as the class of 2017. In fact, I think Bigelow’s movie is slightly better, even. With the embargo having lifted yesterday in the late afternoon, I can now begin to rave about it. And believe me, it deserves to be raved about. Detroit is something special. Bigelow and Mark Boal have done it again. This film is a docudrama about the 1967 Detroit Rebellion, also known as the 12th Street Riots. A central incident depicted is a police raid on the Algiers Motel. Known as the Algiers Motel incident, that fateful July 25th night in...

It looks like Boyega gives an incredible performance in this movie. I also included a new featurette that focuses on the true events that the film is based on, which is intriguing and eye-opening. During the long, hot summer of 1967, the city of Detroit erupted into a full-blown war zone as police clashed with the predominantly Africa-American population of the inner city.
That civil disturbance, one which would go on to become one of the costliest in American history, was reportedly sparked by a police raid of an unlicensed bar in mid-July, leading to four terrifying days and nights of fiercely controversial incidents, such as the Algiers Motel killings. All of this and more is teased in the tense first trailer for Kathryn Bigelow’s drama, which finds John Boyega’s (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) security guard under interrogation. It’s a remarkably intense and effective scene, and one that tees up the calm before the oncoming storm.

Five years after being nominated for Best Picture with her critically-acclaimed thriller Zero Dark Thirty, which took moviegoers inside the Navy Seal operation that ended with the killing of terrorist Osama Bin Laden, director Kathryn Bigelow is back with another true story adaptation. Producer Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures has revealed the first trailer, poster and photos today for Detroit, which has been given an August 4 release date. The riots were sparked after the police raided an after-hours bar known as the Blind Pig on July 23, 1967, which...

Academy Award-winning director of The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty, Kathryn Bigelow looks all set to deliver the high stakes yet again with her next project if the brand new trailer for Detroit is anything to go by.
Bigelow has reunited with screenwriter Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) to tell the gripping story of one of the darkest moments during the civil unrest that rocked Detroit in the summer of 1967, a story of a simple police raid resulting in one of the largest citizen uprisings in the United States history.
Starting the trailer with footage that seems to have been taken from the archives of this fateful time, we are introduced to Boyega as a Us Army Marshall, on the phone, simply stating “I’ll sleep when they stop rioting” before diving into the action with what starts as a harmless conversation between...

Kathryn Bigelow has spent the latter part of her career making films that vibrate with the pulse of the nation. “The Hurt Locker” zeroed in on the fallout from the Iraq War, “Zero Dark Thirty” brought audiences inside the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, and now her latest film “Detroit,” about racial conflict in the city in the late ’60s, is strikingly relevant.
An absolutely staggering cast including John Boyega, John Krasinski, Jason Mitchell, Anthony Mackie, Will Poulter, Jacob Latimore, Joseph David-Jones, Algee Smith, Ben O’Toole, Jack Reynor, Kaitlyn Dever, Hannah Murray, Jeremy Strong, Chris Chalk, Austin Hébert, Ephraim Sykes, Laz Alonso, Nathan Davis Jr., Malcolm David Kelley, Peyton Alex Smith and Leon Thomas III, make up the crime drama that’s set against the backdrop of Detroit’s devastating riots that took place over five haunting summer days in 1967.
