Some Hollywood Squares viewers expressed disapproval of the rebooted game show.
It officially premiered on Thursday. It features the classic format: a nine-by-nine grid of large squares that creates a giant tic-tac-toe board.
Inside each of those squares is a celebrity, with many of them comedians or actors.
Actress and daytime talk show host Drew Barrymore is the current resident of the famed center square.
The show also has a new host, with former NFL star and CBS Mornings host Nate Burleson following in the footsteps of Tom Bergeron, John Davidson, and Peter Marshall.
While some fans seemed to love the game show and Nate as the host, not all viewers seemed enthused by the rest of the Hollywood Squares cast.

After postponing its premiere for a week due to the California wildfires, the Hollywood Squares reboot aired on January 16 with back-to-back episodes.

A number of animated series have introduced entirely fake, yet highly memorable movies into their fictional universes. For example, The Simpsons gave us titles such as The Bloodening, Hail to the Chimp and McBain: Let’s Get Silly. Similarly, Bob’s Burgers debuted the Lone Wolf and Cub-esque samurai film franchise Hawk & Chick. And best of all, South Park depicted a number of depressingly plausible comedies in which Rob Schneider undergoes several dumb transformations.
Then there’s Rick and Morty, which once devoted an entire episode to showcasing fake pop-culture. Season One’s “Rixty Minutes” found Rick tiring of The Bachelor and hooking up a cable box that enables the family to watch TV channels from infinite realities across the universe, including a “movie about a guy eating shit,” an ultra violent Antiques Roadshow and the hit sitcom Schmoo’s the Schmloss.

Mike Schur successfully transitioned from writing at Saturday Night Live to working on some of the best sitcoms of all-time. So when Schur gave his thoughts on SNL's attempt to parody his show The Office, his opinion carried a lot of weight.
Schur joined the Saturday Night Live writing staff in 1998, a year after graduating from Harvard. Soon, he became the "Weekend Update" producer and an Emmy winner. Schur left the show 2004 and followed that up as a producer and writer of The Office.
Seth Meyers invited Schur onto The Seth Meyers and Lonely Island podcast to discuss the best "SNL Digital Short" sketches of all time. Schur emphatically stated that the 2008 Office parody "Japanese Office" does not deserve any special recognition.
"It didn't scratch the itch of reflecting [The Office] in the way that I was hoping the show would be reflected somehow," Schur said. "I worked at SNL,...

After a handful of appearances as Guy Fieri on Weekend Update, Bobby Moynihan took the impression to a whole new level on a December 2013 episode of SNL. The pre-taped fake Food Network promo began with Moynihan’s Fieri cackling like a madman while promoting “Guy Fieri’s Full Throttle Christmas Special,” co-hosted by Kid Rock (Brooks Wheelan), who enters via chimney.
Fieri/Moynihan then goes on to name-drop an insane parade of early 2010s reality TV personalities as the special’s guest stars — Criss Angel, Bret Michaels, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Big Ang from Mob Wives, the casts of Duck Dynasty and Pawn Stars — as well as, for no reason whatsoever, Verne Troyer and Mimi from The Drew Carey Show.
The promo also features the most insane Guy Fieri-like Christmas recipes imaginable, such as a stocking filled with bean dip and “Straight Cake” — as opposed to fruit cake — made from bacon and Matchbox cars.

We should have expected a nostalgia-heavy season in honor of Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary. But nostalgia comes in many packages. Sometimes it’s a sweet remembrance of the good times we’ve shared. Sometimes it’s revisiting the past in desperate attempts to recreate old glories. Last night, SNL served up its own version of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, inviting poor Michael Keaton to once again repeat earlier successes with diminishing results.
The ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ of Monologues
Keaton kicked off his fourth hosting appearance by promoting his not-nearly-as-good-as-the-original Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. He says his movie is “coming out now” even though it’s been in theaters since Labor Day. It’s all an excuse for Mikey Day and Andy Samberg (he got written out of the political cold open) to dress up like Beetlejuice and persuade Keaton to do their favorite character.
Cute, guys. But it’s a straight rehash of...

Michael Keaton is hosting Saturday Night Live tonight, presumably to promote his latest movie, while also ensuring that every Halloween party in America contains at least seven to nine dudes dressed like Beetlejuice.
Keaton’s first outing as host, back in 1982, didn’t go too well (producer Dick Ebersol enlisted Michael Palin to come be a backup host), but he was much more famous when he returned to host a decade later. I mean, he was literally Batman. And Keaton’s ‘92 monologue was all about how the former stand-up is such a big star now that he can, and will, throw out any audience member who rubs him the wrong way.

In 2015, Keaton hosted for a third time, not long after his career had been rejuvenated by the Oscar-winning Birdman or (the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). Despite the fact that he had just starred in the most recent Oscar Best Picture,...

NCIS: Origins premiered this week, and Leroy Jethro Gibbs was back in a very different form. Instead of Mark Harmon playing the iconic role, Austin Stowell plays the character as he first joins NCIS as a probe himself, and starts his career. However, Stowell isn’t the first actor to play a young Gibbs, as Sean Harmon played the character in flashbacks on the main series.
Now, Mark Harmon is explaining why Sean didn’t return to the role in NCIS: Origins.
Why Mark Harmon’s Son Isn’t Gibbs In NCIS: Origins
In the original NCIS series, Mark Harmon’s son, Sean played the character of Gibbs in flashbacks to when he was a young NCIS officer. However, with the new series solely focused on Gibbs’ start at NCIS, the show chose to go with Bridge of Spies actor, Austin Stowell.

CBS’ NCIS: Origins is about “a story I don’t tell,” narrator Mark Harmon’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs tells us midway through the prequel spinoff’s premiere. Specifically, “This is the story of–“
Actually, the end of that sentence is a major spoiler, and the onset of a provocative mystery. And Gibbs’ full declaration, as the forever-analog former NCIS agent puts this story to paper in front of an Alaskan campfire, is bound to figuratively ignite your interest in what lies ahead.

In a fun promo, the pop star teamed up with musical guest Stevie Nicks and SNL cast member Bowen Yang, as the Fleetwood Mac icon joined Grande for a playful preview. In it, Yang and Grande trick Nicks into singing a line from her double-platinum single “Landslide.” The clip whet our appetites and made us wonder, “Have Grande and Nicks ever sang a duet together?”

“Saturday Night Live” premiered October 11, 1975 on NBC with a group of fresh-faced cast members known as the “Not Ready For Prime-Time Players.” None of those original stars lasted for more than five seasons, but they all made their mark on the late night sketch series that is still going strong five decades later.

Saturday Night Live’s landmark 50th season will kick off nearly over a month ahead of the 2024 presidential election with plenty of material for its cold opens and other political skits.
With Maya Rudolph returning to portray Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris, its likely that James Austin Johnson will portray Donald Trump and or Joe Biden in parodies of the candidates. Doug Emhoff (who has been portrayed in the past by Martin Short) and Vice President Tim Walz will also likely receive parodies, though Short’s Only Murders in the Building costar Steve Martin has declined the ask to portray Walz.
The first five consecutive SNL shows’ hosts and musical guests have been announced, and given the volume and talent of cast members over the years, a look back at political parodies by hosts, guests and members of the comedy ensemble can be found below.

Gaten Matarazzo on Mark Hamill in Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: "He elevates the show so much"
Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is the latest miniseries set in a galaxy far, far away. The delightful show stars Stranger Things' Gaten Matarazzo as Sig Greebling, a nerf herder who accidentally rewrites all of time and space. Teaming up with Jedi Bob (Bobby Moynihan), the two head out on an adventure to make things right.
Matarazzo sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss his excitement about the project, especially about appearing in the same show as Star Wars Legend Mark Hamill.
"I actually didn’t know Mark was going to be on board when they sent the project over, but it was still a no-brainer, initially," Matarazzo shared when asked about his feelings about being in the same cast. "I’m a Star Wars fiend, and so when I was approached, I was like, 'I don’t care if the script is dog [explicit]; I’m doing it.

Bobby Moynihan would love to do a live action Star Wars, and I'd love to see it. The Saturday Night Live actor mused about what kind of character he would want to portray and the answer may surprise you.
In a special on Disney+, via Comicbook.com, Moynihan discussed who he would want to play in a live action Star Wars. His Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy character, Jedi Bob, is a definitely choice. Though, he also shared his want to be an alien, saying, "I enjoy Star Wars acting -- I really want to do live-action Star Wars. I really want to play some sort of alien creature where you can't see my face -- a slug or something. My dream is live-action orca. Me in a live-action orca costume, shrunk down, that's my dream."

Fans have been waiting to see who will be hosting the first episodes of the upcoming 50th season of "Saturday Night Live," and today, the answers arrived. Typically, "SNL" only announces hosts for the next three shows in a given window, but I'm willing to bet that organizing scheduled for this milestone season is going to require a lot of advance planning to make it all work. As of today, we know who will be hosting the first five episodes of "SNL" season 50, including the season premiere later this month.
To begin with, fresh off winning an Emmy for her outstanding performance in the Max comedy series "Hacks," the amazing Jean Smart will be hosting the season premiere of "SNL" on September 28. Jedi Bob in a scene from Lego® Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy, exclusively on Disney+. ©2024 Lucasfilm Ltd. & Tm. All Rights Reserved. Bobby Moynihan, known for his comedic chops on Saturday Night Live, is thrilled to voice a key character in Disney+’s animated series, Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. A lifelong fan of both Lego and Star Wars, Moynihan sees this project as a perfect mashup of childhood favorites. The series’ unique concept, where classic Star Wars characters are reimagined in fresh scenarios, resonates deeply with Moynihan. It echoes the joyful crossovers he enjoyed in his youth, like when The Muppets tackled Star Wars or classic literature. Moynihan also appreciates how Rebuild the Galaxy brings a fresh perspective to iconic Star Wars figures. He even jokingly expresses his enthusiasm for a show solely focused on a Jedi version of Darth Vader. (Click on the media bar below to hear Bobby Moynihan) https://www.

The latest miniseries full of minifigs is here! Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy has arrived on Disney+ and is full of the hilarious antics that these specials have been known for. According to nine-year Saturday Night Live veteran Bobby Moynihan, the Saturday Night Live production schedule stopped working efficiently the second the show ran out of booger sugar.
The drug habits of the Saturday Night Live cast and crew are the stuff of comedy legend, often tragically so. The cocaine consumption of series icons like John Belushi and Chris Farley are a dark spot in the show’s powdery-white history, and it’s honestly refreshing that the biggest drug problem SNL has had in the last decade was the time when Louis C.K. tried to get Pete Davidson fired for smoking pot in his dressing room. However, in the first few decades of SNL’s existence, cocaine was to 30 Rockefeller Plaza what Sunoco Green E15 is to NASCAR, and the entire SNL operation moved at about the same speed as a result.

New calendar month, new offerings from Disney+! The streamer’s light summer continues, but one of the year’s biggest and most anticipated series will have its debut this month: the Marvel Studios/Marvel Television spinoff series “Agatha All Along.” Kathryn Hahn reprises her Emmy-nominated “WandaVision” role as the infamous witch Agatha Hackness as she works with some unlikely allies on her quest to regain her former powers. “Heartstopper” star Joe Locke co-stars in the new MCU addition, which will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 18 with new episodes continuing to debut throughout September and October.
Also in September, ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” will premiere its 33rd season, and Disney+ subscribers will be able to watch the new season live right along those with cable. So far, Olympic Bronze medalist and pommel horse specialist Stephen Nedoroscik is the only confirmed cast member, but the full roster will be announced during...

“Frozen 3” will glide into theaters in time for Thanksgiving… of 2027.
Disney has added the third Arendelle-set animated adventure to the film release calendar on Nov. 24, 2027. Both of the first two “Frozen” movies were also released around Turkey Day, on their way to becoming back-to-back $1 billion blockbusters.
The studio also planted a new Pixar movie, “Hoppers,” on the schedule for March 6, 2026. Jon Hamm and Bobby Moynihan will lead the voice cast of “Hoppers,” a body-swap comedy about a young girl who uses technology to understand the inner thoughts of animals.
The original “Frozen” became a massive sensation in 2013, generating nearly $1.3 billion worldwide and winning a slew of awards, including two Oscars. The 2019 sequel was even more commercially successful with $1.45 billion and, until recently, stood as the highest-grossing animated film in history. The movies about the adventures of royal sisters Anna and Elsa (voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel) produced...
