“‘Got Talent’ shows have created some of the biggest stars on the planet,” declares host Terry Crews in the “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” video trailer (watch above). NBC’s latest reality TV show, a spin-off of the popular summer series “America’s Got Talent,” debuts Monday, January 2, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. Et/Pt. As Terry explains, “Over the next eight weeks, the best talent from America and across the globe will gather in the most competitive battle in ‘AGT’ history to claim the title of ‘Got Talent’ World Champion.”
The three “All-Stars” judges — Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel — are also quoted in the extended clip, as images of the 60 returning contestants flash across the screen. “It’s the best of the best,” raves Simon, who also serves as an executive producer. Howie notes, “This is a competition of champions.” And Heidi chimes in, “And you came here to fight.

“America’s Got Talent” entered the final phase of its unconventional season 15 on Tuesday with the first live performance show and Wednesday with the first live results show of the summer. In this quarter-finals round, which will consist of four episodes, 11 acts per night will perform for the judges. On the August 11 live show, judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara were joined by Kelly Clarkson who stepped in for Simon Cowell, who is recovering from surgery for a broken back.
Of Tuesday’s 11 acts that performed, only five of them will advance to the next round, the semi-finals. Those 11 acts were: Roberta Battaglia, the child singer with the grown-up voice and Sofia’s Golden Buzzer, two other singers Archie Williams and Shaquira McGrath, daredevil duo father and daughter Bello & Annaliese Nock, salsa dancers Simon and Maria, animal tricks act Pork Chop Revue, ukulelist Feng E, sword swallower Brett Loudermilk,...

In the aftermath of Simon Cowell‘s bicycle accident over the weekend, Kelly Clarkson filled in for him during the first two “America’s Got Talent” live shows of Season 15. (The performances aired on August 11 with the results scheduled for August 12.) There’s still no word on when — or if — the British judge/producer will return to NBC’s reality TV show, but Howie Mandel just gave his personal theory in an interview with “Today With Jenna & Hoda.” “There may be a Simon sighting before the end of the season,” he teased.

Based on our readers’ odds, things are looking good for these six acts: singer Archie Williams, daredevil duo Bello and Annaliese Nock, ukuleleist Feng E, stand-up comedian Michael Yo, singer Shaquira McGrath and Sofia Vergara‘s Golden Buzzer, singer Roberta Battaglia.
That means the other five acts are in danger of going home, according to our users’ elimination predictions.

Due to Simon Cowell‘s bicycle accident over the weekend, he was replaced on the first live “America’s Got Talent” episode by “The Voice” coach Kelly Clarkson. Of course, the two superstars share a rich history as Simon was the judge on “American idol” when Kelly originally rose to fame. “I have waited years for this,” Kelly laughed at the top of the August 11 live show. “I love Simon, but I’m getting real used to this chair, buddy. I’m just saying, take your time. I feel good about it. I could use another job.”

Even though Simon Cowell has been hospitalized after a biking accident, the show must go on. Tonight’s August 11 episode marks the first live show for a season of “America’s Got Talent” like no other. Despite being affected by the coronavirus, Heidi Klum‘s illness and now Simon’s broken back, the reality TV program continues to thrive on NBC. Taking his place at the “Agt” judging panel will be “The Voice” coach Kelly Clarkson, who ironically rose to fame thanks in part thanks to Simon’s judging on the first season of “American Idol.” Host Terry Crews and judges Heidi, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara are also scheduled to appear … unless something drastic happens between now and showtime, 8:00 p.m. Et/Pt.

The Judge Cuts round of “America’s Got Talent” season 15 began on July 28 with another two-hour episode that saw the series doing things a little bit different in order to keep the crew and talent socially distant from one another. In this phase of “Agt,” judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara convened on an outdoor set for a drive-in movie themed viewing of the acts filmed from home.
Absent from the Judge Cuts are the five acts that advanced from the auditions round straight to the live shows for receiving a Golden Buzzer from one of the judges or host Terry Crews. Those were Voices of Our City Choir (Terry’s pick), singer Roberta Battaglia (Sofia’s pick), singer Cristina Rae (Heidi’s pick), dance group Waffle Crew (Simon’s pick) and spoke word artist Brandon Leake (Howie’s pick).

And then there were… fewer. Tuesday’s episode of America’s Got Talent reunited the judges (in person!) to crush a few more dreams and reveal which acts will be proceeding to the Season 15 live episodes.
As is the case with all difficult Agt decisions, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara were at each other’s throats from the jump, with several judges bringing up valid arguments like “You don’t know what it’s like to swallow a sword” and “Nein! Nein! Nein!” It was utter chaos.

When Archie Williams walked on stage to perform at America’s Got Talent, no one knew what to expect. By the time he was done with his audition, everyone was stunned. It wasn’t just Archi’s singing that left everyone speechless, it was his story. Archie Williams shared that he had been sentenced to life in prison, of which he served almost 37 years, for a crime he didn’t commit. Although DNA eventually exonerated him, the nearly 4 decades he spent behind bars is time that he can never get back. Despite everything that he’s been through, Williams’ spirit remains bright, and

America’s Got Talent welcomed Sofia Vergara to the judges’ panel on Tuesday with a parade of vomiting sock puppets, giant pigs pushing smaller pigs in baby carriages, and a family determined to prove that “roller skating still exists.” Towards the end of the two-hour season premiere, the once optimistic actress confessed, “I don’t have much hope.” So, thanks a lot, America — you broke Sofia Vergara.
(Side note: I would actually like to call shenanigans on the vomiting sock puppet act. Not only was that a wildly inventive performance, but it was also hysterical. Arguably the greatest sock-related act since Lamb Chop.

Most of the time “America’s Got Talent” is a crowd-pleasing, rip-roaring good time, but every so often a contestant’s personal story is so moving that we as an audience are brought back down from the clouds to the realities of earth. That was the case on the season 15 premiere of “Agt” on May 26.
For singer Archie Williams, his reality for 37 years was being housed in one of America’s “bloodiest” prisons for a crime he didn’t commit. He was released in March of 2019 after DNA evidence obtained by the Innocence Project exonerated him of a rape and murder for which he’d been convicted in 1982. That verdict came despite an overwhelming lack of evidence against him at the time. For his audition he sang a gut-wrenching and powerful rendition of Elton John‘s ballad “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.” Go get some tissues and then watch above!
