Misha Gonz-Cirkl, is a native New Yorker of Puerto Rican/Cuban-Caribbean descent. A graduate from Performing Arts High School in NYC, she later earned a BA from Cornell University and went on to earn an MBA abroad in Heidelberg, Germany.; a long way off from her Bronx roots. Although English is her native language she also has fluency in both Spanish and German languages. After a six year absence from New York and acting to study and work overseas, she returned to resume a career in acting. She returned to the stage in numerous stage productions in New York and Los Angeles. After one pilot season in LA, the move out West was inevitable. Alongside theater credits, she has accumulated numerous dramatic and comedic credits in television: namely in This Is Us, True Blood, Grey's Anatomy, The Mick, Speechless, All My Children, and How To Get Away with Murder. Films credits include, Seberg, In My Pocket and voice-overs work ranges from video games and television looping. Commercials include IBM, Comcast, NYLife and Capital One.
After moving to Los Angeles she became a student of The Groundlings Theater and School and immediately felt at home. Misha has always been drawn to playing complex, dramatic character roles and at The Groundlings she started to create and write her own characters; writing short stories and scripts for the underdogs and sometimes unlikely heroes in society. In 2016, Misha wrote a one-woman show entitled "Hummingbird" - the play highlighted her talents as an actress, writer, (co)director and producer. "Hummingbird' even featured an original song written by Misha; earning her the added titles 'writer', 'director' and 'producer' to her list of credits. The play received rave reviews at The Whitefire Theatre in 2016 and in 2023 premiered off-Broadway for two nights at Theatre Row Theater, to sold out performances in collaboration with the United Solo festival. In 2017 at the San Pedro Film Festival, Misha's short film "Rapture" won 1st place in the short film (under 5 minute) category; and this multi-hyphenate has never stopped storytelling on all levels.
In 2023 during the Writers's Strike and SAG-AFTRA Strike Misha found herself once again heeding the call to lead and be part of the story- she became a union Captain on the frontline. She is a proud, founding member of Latinas Acting Up; an organization comprised of Latina and Hispana union members across the entertainment business.
Her next project is recurring as a guest star in the highly successful, CBS/Apple TV+ dramatic series "Swagger"; produced by CBS, Imagine Entertainment, Thirty-Five Ventures and produced, written and directed by Reggie Rock Bythewood. (release date TBD).
