We Don’t Trust You, the new album from Future and Metro Boomin, is here (the first half anyway), and listeners are abuzz about the 17-song project. Coming in at approximately one hour, the project has elicited plenty of talking points in less than 24 hours. Kendrick Lamar pulled another “Control”-like move and got the rap world talking about his shots at Drake and J. Cole on “Like That” — which coincidentally overshadowed yesterday’s “Whole Time” freestyle from Big Sean, who originally put Kendrick on “Control.”

Match #1: Roxanne Perez def. Tatum Paxley The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Roxanne Perez is one step closer to Stand & Deliver as she defeated Tatum Paxley, challenged Lyra Valkyria, and attacked the champion once again. Before the match could even begin, Paxley attacked Perez as the two brawled at the ringside area. Paxley put up a fight, but a Pop Rox into a crossface from Perez sealed the victory. After the match, a sling-wearing Valkyria confronted The Prodigy only for Perez to lock her in a crossface as well.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Nathan Frazer & Axiom def. No Quarter Catch Crew The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

New York hardcore vets Sick of It All have filed a lawsuit against hip-hop duo Mobb Deep and clothing brand Surpreme for copyright infringement stemming from the use of the band’s dragon logo.
The suit was filed by Bush Baby Zamagate, Inc. — the company that owns Sick of It All’s intellectual property — which claims that Mobb Deep and Supreme used a logo nearly identical to the hardcore band’s long-standing dragon emblem, which has origins dating back to 1987.
“Defendants’ adoption and use of their knockoff logo … is not just reckless and inexplicable — it is willful infringement and unfair competition,” the lawsuit stated (per HipHopDX).
Furthermore, the lawsuit claims that in “June 2023, Supreme, a clothing and skateboarding lifestyle brand, as part of a collaboration with Mobb Deep, began using its logo on clothing goods, including t-shirts and hats. The similarities between the two marks, particularly when used on clothing,...

Al Yankovic can be described in a lot of ways besides "Weird." Most people know that he's a chart-topping singer-songwriter, a director-producer, a top-notch parodist, an author and a die-hard polka enthusiast. Even those who have followed his career closely, however, may have forgotten he was, for a brief moment, the host of a short-lived children's television show.
The Weird Al Show debuted on CBS on September 13, 1997 as part of their Saturday morning lineup. Each episode began with the all important "today's lesson" before viewers were invited into Yankovic's underground...

The Fire This Time 10 Minute Play Festival 2017 Directed by Cezar Williams Presented by Frigid New York @ Horse Trade at the Kraine Theater, NYC January 19-February 5, 2017
The annual The Fire This Time Festival was begun by artists, for artists, and its purpose is to showcase early-career playwrights of the African diaspora. Traditionally, The Fire This Time has been composed of a variety of events, with the 10 Minute Play Festival serving as the flagship, and this year, its eighth, Tftt has expanded those events beyond the strictly theatrical, including web series and readings by playwrights and sisters Kia and Kara Lee Corthron from their respective debut novels. As an anchor to the festivities (and the only event that isn't free to attend), the The 10 Minute Play Festival has consistently put forth collections of strong, exciting work, and this year's group of seven short plays, performed by a group of seven actors, is no exception.

Lee Marvin rose through the ranks of movie stardom as a character actor, delivering mostly villainous supporting turns in many films before finally graduating to leading roles. Regardless of which side of the law he was on however, he projected a tough-as-nails intensity and a two-fisted integrity which elevated even the slightest material. Born February 19, 1924, in New York City, Marvin quit high school to enter the Marine Corps and while serving in the South Pacific was badly wounded in battle when a machine gun nest shot off part of his buttocks and severed his sciatic nerve. He spent a year in recovery before returning to the U.S. where he began working as a plumber. With only six feature films to his name, four of which featured his iconic onscreen alter ego, the cinema of Jacques Tati remains an island of unique delight despite his influence on decades of filmmakers since and comparative efforts of peers from his own period (considering Marguerite Duras’ critique, now widely accepted, concerning the taken-for-granted stylistic likeness between Tati and Robert Bresson, a director whose subject matters were a bit less pleasant or comical). Without Tati and his bumbling character Monsieur Hulot, sputtering about memorably in a series of some of the most well-crafted moments of ingenious, highly organized chaos ever put to celluloid, we’d be without latter day influences, like Roy Andersson, Otar Iosseliani, several Peter Sellers characters, and even Rowan Atkinson’s similarly crafted Mr. Bean.
At the time, Tati’s obvious influences date back to the silent era, where Buster Keaton and Charles Chaplin crafted the...

Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming Biblical epic Noah has already faced a great deal of criticism from religious groups, and has seen some major clashes between the director and the studio. Though we heard earlier this month that the director’s cut would be the one we see in theaters, Paramount is still concerned that the film will get a poor response from faith-based audiences.
It’s undoubtedly a tough issue that will offend and upset people no matter what, and judging by what we’ve seen from the film so far, it’s clear that Aronofsky is holding nothing back and giving the familiar tale a fresh spin. Despite the studio giving him his own way on the final cut, they’re still taking precautions in order to ease the worries of potentially nervous audiences.

Screenings of Darren Aronofsky's upcoming Biblical epic "Noah" is set to be accompanied by an "explanatory message" which has been added at the request of Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, the President and CEO of National Religious Broadcasters.
The message essentially says that "artistic license" has been taken in this film based on the Biblical story, essentially it's an adaptation and Not a line-by-line retelling. Here's the message in full:
"The film is inspired by the story of Noah. While artistic license has been taken, we believe that this film is true to the essence, values, and integrity of a story that is a cornerstone of faith for millions of people worldwide. The biblical story of Noah can be found in the book of Genesis."
In an official statement, Paramount Pictures Vice Chairman says:

This is just taking things too far as we are clearly getting closer and closer to the Production Code days of cinema as The Hollywood Reporter reveals Darren Aronofsky's Noah will come with a disclaimer, and not just on the movie itself, but the marketing: Future marketing materials for the film -- including an upcoming online trailer, the film's website, all print and radio ads, as well as a percentage of the film's online and broadcast ads, will contain the following message: "The film is inspired by the story of Noah. While artistic license has been taken, we believe that this film is true to the essence, values and integrity of a story that is a cornerstone of faith for millions of people worldwide. The decision followed an appeal by Dr. Jerry A. Who better to review the movie than Actor-Rapper Ryan Ochoa from Disney Xd's Pair of Kings and Kat McNamara, most recently seen in Disney Channel's Girl vs. Monster? He found fame as a policeman in the Lethal Weapon films, but it's his political activism that really drives him. He talks about his beloved Haiti, Obama's disappointing presidency and his friendship with Mel Gibson
A few years ago, Danny Glover sat in his car and cried. The Hollywood star and political activist had just heard the news that his friend, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, Haiti's first democratically elected president, had been toppled in a coup backed by the Us and France. "It was 28 February 2004 and I sat in that parking lot crying uncontrollably, knowing that we'd have to start building again."
Glover fixes me with tired eyes as we sit in an upstairs room of the Crossroads Women's Centre in London's Kentish Town on a rainy Saturday afternoon. He has just flown in from the Us and the same evening will give a speech at the centre during a fundraiser for the Haiti Emergency Relief Fund.

Shadows

“We did everything wrong, technically…. The only thing we did right was to get a group of people together who were young, full of life, and wanted to do something of meaning.” – John Cassavetes
As one of the first movies to be produced outside of the Hollywood studio system, John Cassavetes’ self-financed Shadows (1959) is a pioneering movie in the history of American independent cinema. Favoring an approach influenced by theatre, Cassavetes cast amateur actors and friends in a semi-improvised character study about three siblings living in 1950’s New York. Produced on a small budget, Shadows was shot in Cassavetes’ own apartment and out on the streets of Manhattan, while friends stood on look out watching for the police.
In the final credits of Shadows Cassavetes mischievously proclaimed, “The film you have just seen was an improvisation”. If Jean-Luc Godard’s...

After a memorable street run, Saigon compiled the best of his mixtape material on the independent retail release Warning Shots in 2004. The Mc would later hook up with hip-hop super-producer Just Blaze, sign to Atlantic Records and see his official debut LP, The Greatest Story Never Told, become one of rap's most anticipated releases.

Steven Spielberg directed a film version of Alice Walker.s novel that at the time was somewhat controversial. More for the color of its director, but it seems like much of a tame controversy as time has passed. What you do find is a fantastic film. In the 1930s South, Celie (Whoopi Goldberg) has had a hard life. She was raped by her father (Leonard Jackson) and had two children by him by her fourteenth birthday. She.s forced into an unhappy marriage with widower Albert Johnson (Danny Glover) who treats her more as the help than as a wife. Not to mention the constant beatings that has broken Celie. Celie.s sister Nettie (Akosua Busia) comes to live with her and...
